If you love people, love purpose, and love being the steady hand behind the scenes, this might be your moment.
Who Are We?
We’re SUNSHINE Charity, a brand‑new grassroots charity working to reduce loneliness and help people feel more connected: through projects, partnerships, and community support.
We’re a start‑up on a mission to bring connection, joy, confidence and belonging back into people’s lives. We create warm, uplifting, community‑based activities that help people step out of isolation and into a world where they feel seen, heard, valued and supported.

This isn’t just any volunteer role — this is your chance to help build the operational heartbeat of a brand‑new charity.
As our Office & Operations Manager, you’ll support the CEO and leadership team by keeping our internal systems organised, our admin running smoothly, and our volunteers supported. You’ll help create the structure that allows SUNSHINE to grow with confidence and care.
You’ll be the organiser, the coordinator, the “we’ve got this” energy behind the scenes.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll help us build a strong, well‑run charity by:

A natural organiser who loves structure and clarity.
-
Someone who enjoys admin, coordination and keeping things running smoothly.

Excited to help build a charity from scratch.
-
Happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
-
Someone who believes in kindness, joy and belonging.

Through enriching programmes, professional experiences, and empowering support, we champion ambition, connect individuals to meaningful opportunities, and help every person develop, grow, and excel. We believe success should be defined by talent, aspiration, and dedication — never background or circumstance.
We are now recruiting our founding Board of Trustees — compassionate, strategic, values‑driven leaders who want to build something meaningful from the ground up.
You will work closely with the Founder & Executive Director to shape our culture, guide our strategy, and lay the foundations for long‑term impact.

- Programme design and delivery
- Local knowledge of Newham or Tower Hamlets

We’re in the exciting early stages of building something bold, vibrant, and community‑powered — and we’re looking for a Company Secretary who wants to help shape a movement from the ground up.
The Role
We are seeking an organised, detail‑driven, and values‑led Company Secretary to join our Board of Trustees and support REMIX’s governance during this crucial start‑up phase. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, clarity, and good governance — and who believes deeply in youth empowerment and social mobility.
Key Responsibilities
As Company Secretary, you will:
-
Ensure REMIX meets its legal, regulatory, and constitutional obligations as a start‑up charity.

Maintain accurate records, including minutes, registers, filings, and governance documents.

-
Support the smooth running of Board meetings and ensure actions are tracked and completed.
-
Uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous Company Secretary experience — we welcome people stepping into governance roles for the first time. What matters most is your organisational strength, your commitment to young people, and your ability to support a start‑up charity with clarity and care.
We’re looking for someone who is:
-
Passionate about social mobility, youth empowerment, and fairness.
-
Organised, detail‑focused, and reliable.
-
Confident with documentation, record‑keeping, and compliance.

Help build a charity that changes lives, shifts systems, and opens doors for generations.
At Unlock YOUR Potential, we believe an “accident of birth” should never determine a person’s destination. We are a new London‑based social mobility charity committed to breaking cycles of deprivation through holistic employability, wellbeing, and mentoring programmes that empower adults to thrive.
We are prioritising delivery in Newham and Tower Hamlets — two boroughs that rank among the top 10 most deprived areas nationally for employment and skills. The need here is real. The talent is abundant. The opportunity for impact is extraordinary.
Our vision is to build a flagship model in East London that can grow, evolve, and expand beyond these two boroughs — creating a blueprint for social mobility that transforms communities across the UK.
Through enriching programmes, professional experiences, and empowering support, we champion ambition, connect individuals to meaningful opportunities, and help every person develop, grow, and excel. We believe success should be defined by talent, aspiration, and dedication — never background or circumstance.
We are now recruiting our founding Senior Leadership Team — compassionate, strategic, values‑driven leaders who want to build something meaningful from the ground up.
You will work closely with the Founder to shape our culture, guide our strategy, build our systems, and lay the foundations for long‑term impact.
We are recruiting for the following Senior Leadership roles:
1. Executive Director
A confident, inspiring organisational leader who can drive strategy, oversee delivery, and work side‑by‑side with the Founder to build a high‑impact charity from scratch.
2. Managing Director
A collaborative, steady operational partner who can turn strategy into action, coordinate teams, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day running of the charity.
3. Head of HR & Volunteering
A people‑centred leader who can shape our culture, develop volunteer pathways, support wellbeing, and build inclusive, empowering HR practices.
4. Head of External Affairs
A relationship‑builder who can lead on partnerships, fundraising, communications, and public presence — amplifying our mission across East London and beyond.
5. Head of Service Delivery
A programme‑focused leader who can design, deliver, and refine our employability, wellbeing, and mentoring services to ensure they are impactful, accessible, and life‑changing.
6. Head of Insight & Impact
A data‑driven thinker who can build our monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems — ensuring we understand our impact and continuously improve.
7. Head of Learning & Development
A development‑focused leader who can shape our training, mentoring, and personal growth pathways for participants, volunteers, and future staff.
If you bring passion, integrity, and a commitment to equity, we would love to hear from you.
Why join us?
1. Shape a new charity from day one
Your leadership will directly influence our culture, strategy, systems, and long‑term direction.
2. Champion social mobility where it matters most
Help adults unlock confidence, skills, and opportunities that change the trajectory of their lives.
3. Lead with authenticity and heart
We welcome leaders with lived experience, community roots, and non‑traditional backgrounds.
4. Build a flagship model for national impact
Your work in Newham and Tower Hamlets will lay the foundations for future expansion across the UK.

We particularly encourage applications from people from working‑class or low‑income backgrounds, people of colour, and those with lived experience of the barriers we aim to dismantle.

Flexible voluntary role with approximately minimum 10 hours per month, including occasional leadership meetings, working groups, and strategic development sessions.

Fundraising volunteers wanted to help East London Waterworks Park reach its funding goals
East London Waterworks Park is working to acquire a 14-acre, concreted-over depot on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, and to transform it into a ‘brownfield rainforest’ with wild-swimming pools and creative learning spaces for the local community. We are showcasing an environment-first, community-led approach to land ownership that will help nature and people thrive together, revolutionising the way we think about green and blue spaces in cities.
Our Crowdfunder raised over half a million pounds towards buying the land, but we are waiting for the landowner to make decisions about the use of the site. Whilst we wait, we need to raise money for the other work we are carrying out. We have an exciting programme of community projects and work coming up, including carrying out biodiverse transformations on other sites in London.
If you have experience of planning or running fundraising campaigns and would like to get involved with a local charity, we would love to hear from you. Perhaps you are buzzing with ideas of how to raise money or are keen to get stuck in and help to make some events happen. Maybe you are a good writer and seller of ideas and would like to join our mini team of funding bid writers. We would especially love to hear from you if you have experience of writing funding applications.
If you are a professional fundraiser and would like to help but are short on time, we would still love for you to get in touch. Even if you are unable to get deeply involved, we would appreciate one-off or ongoing advice.
We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
We meet once a fortnight online on a Thursday evening
