Role Summary

Quilombo UK is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Services Sales Specialist to join our team as a self-employed contractor. This is a crucial, target-driven, commission-only role focused on generating revenue by converting prospective service users into paying clients.The successful candidate will gain direct, high-impact sales experience that mirrors the standards and performance expectations of a paid sales position, with the added benefit of earning commission on all confirmed deals.

Compensation Structure

● Payment Basis: This is a commission-only, self-employed contractor position. There is no fixed salary or hourly wage. The specialist is responsible for invoicing Quilombo UK monthly for earned commission.

● Commission: Commission is earned per converted sale, payable only after the customer’s second monthly payment is successfully processed.

○ Standard £200 ePDP Sale: £25 commission

○ Subsidized £100 Sale: £10 commission

○ 2-Month Rolling Sale: £65 commission

● Payment Schedule: Commission earned is paid monthly, 30 days after receipt of the monthly invoice from the specialist, following the trigger (receipt of the customer's second payment) being confirmed.

Main Responsibilities

This is a target-driven, client-facing role responsible for the full sales cycle:

● Lead Generation: Proactively research and identify prospective clients aligned with Quilombo UK’s mission and services.

● Outreach & Pitching: Initiate direct outreach (calls, emails, online meetings) with clients directly.

● Closing Deals: Deliver compelling sales pitches and presentations, handle end-to-end sales processes, and secure contracts for services.

● Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a strong client pipeline, updating CRM or tracking systems regularly.

● Performance: Consistently meet or exceed weekly/monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to outreach, meetings, and revenue conversions.

● Strategy: Collaborate with the Director to refine messaging and sales strategy for maximum impact. Services to be Sold

● ePDP (Enhanced Professional Development Programme)

● iPDP (International Personal Development Programme)

● Quilombo UK Departments as a Service

● Essential: Demonstrated experience in a sales, business development, or account management role, with a proven track record of generating leads and closing deals.

East London Waterworks Park is looking for volunteers to lead social media and content creation for communications and campaigning for our community-owned park.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for social media and content creator leads to participate in our community-led working group who are promoting public awareness and support of the project. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across communications, content creation, social media, PR, newsletters, film, podcasts or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working group.

The Comms Circle currently meets every 4 weeks on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

You will be at the forefront of our digital strategy to create a huge new biodiverse park and natural swimming ponds. We’re looking for creative and strategic thinkers who can craft compelling narratives and visually stunning content. You should have a deep understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools to measure and optimize our campaigns. Your ability to build and engage with online communities is crucial, as is your skill in managing media relations. We value individuals who are passionate about our mission and can bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the role. You will be comfortable with community-led processes. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role. 

Contribute to the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds. Your strategic content creation will be instrumental in fostering a strong connection between our community, the park, and its biodiversity. Your input will help us craft compelling narratives that inspire, educate, and engage our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, ultimately driving support for the park's mission and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Fine Cell Work (FCW) is a UK-based rehabilitation charity and social enterprise. We are supported by an incredible team of prison volunteers who are the link between the charity and the stitchers we work with in prison. Our volunteers run fortnightly stitching groups in the prisons we work with to facilitate our stitchers’ production of high-quality needlework.

Our prison volunteers work in small teams to teach our stitchers’ embroidery and needlepoint, organise their group sessions, and liaise with the prison and FCW office.

What you will do as a prison volunteer:

• Teach people in prison how to stitch and support the completion of our premade kits in our cell groups, which consist of around 10-15 stitchers.
• Communicate with staff at our hub in Battersea to receive kits and supplies for your group and send back completed work for your stitchers to be paid.
• Encourage and help stitchers to complete our Open College Network certifications in creative needlework.
• Develop stitchers’ skills and confidence by encouraging them to take responsibility as peer mentors.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity and sharing our vision and values throughout your volunteering.

Who we are looking for:

• Skills in embroidery and/or needlepoint or a willingness to learn to stitch is essential for this role.
• Ideally some teaching experience or experience working with socially-excluded groups.
• Someone with a non-judgemental attitude and commitment to rehabilitation.
• Someone who is an excellent team worker.
• Someone who is good at observing personal boundaries.

Commitment: our stitching groups run for 2 hours every fortnight, so with travel time and some admin work after groups we ask prison volunteers to set aside a morning or afternoon every 2 weeks.

You must be over 18 for this role with the ability to travel to the prison. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the charity.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied. We would also love to hear from people willing to volunteer on Sundays.

Volunteer Administrator

British Liver Trust | Central Winchester

In the UK there are more than 11,000 deaths due to liver disease each year. British Liver Trust is determined to achieve real change in liver health and during our busiest period ever, we’re looking for volunteers to support our small, friendly Admin Team within the Operations Department. 

You might be looking for a meaningful way to use your skills, stay professionally active, or gain hands-on experience in an office environment.  Whether you're looking to build your CV, you're between roles, or you're looking to contribute your time to a cause that really matters, we’d love to hear from you.

The role

This is a varied, practical role supporting a busy office. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day administrative work that keeps things running smoothly, particularly when workloads are high. Examples of tasks include:

• Order fulfilment; picking, packing patient booklets and materials, preparing to be posted

• Supporting the team preparing for upcoming events; travel arrangements, accommodation, venues, catering

• General admin; filing, stock taking, shredding, scanning

While this is a volunteer role, the work is meaningful, active, and very much part of the core team.   You don’t need to have worked in a charity before - you just need a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to get involved.

What's involved?

• Undertake tasks ranging from clearing tables and serving food to washing dishes and supporting behind the counter. 
• Use your smile and customer service skills to engage with visitors, share knowledge of the property and generally enhance their visit
• Have a strong working knowledge of our menu, including allergen information, and sharing this with visitors, though any allergy questions should be asked to a team leader, with the support of our allergen book.
• Playing your part to continue our work looking after special places 
• Joining an enthusiastic team and making new friends
• Learning and developing a range of skills such as food safety, barista and exceptional service.
• There’s also potential to get involved with the Food & Beverage events calendar.
• You can also opt in to Food and Beverage Buggy training to help deliver freshly baked goods to other outlets on site.

As a Learning Support Volunteer, you’ll be part of a welcoming team that helps adults and young people take part in our learning, employability and personal development sessions. You’ll provide encouragement, guidance and reassurance to help participants build confidence and progress at their own pace.

This is a flexible, hands-on role for anyone who enjoys supporting others and wants to make a difference in their community.

• Supporting learning and skills sessions led by tutors or facilitators

Since its establishment in 2006, the Foundation has enabled over 250,000 young people from across the south-east of England to learn, develop and enjoy in nature, including many whose backgrounds and circumstances have previously restricted their access to the natural environment. The Foundation is a recipient of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, in recognition of its developmental impact on the lives of young people. In 2024/25, the Foundation recorded a total income of £852,977, and a net trading surplus of £81,286.

1.2 The Foundation owns and manages Walton Firs Activity Centre, a fifty-acre facility that provides forty land-based outdoor education activities and residential capacity to accommodate up to 1,100 young people. The activity centre is commissioned by a wide range of children’s and youth service providers and by primary, secondary and SEND schools to deliver high quality curriculum enhancement programmes and outdoor learning activities. In addition, the activity centre directly-delivers a range of services for local young people, including holiday and afterschool activity projects, work experience programmes, and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. In 2024/25, Walton Firs Activity Centre delivered 479 service commissions and engaged 32,000 young people in outdoor learning activities and programmes.

1.3 Currently, the Foundation has six trustees / directors, who work with the company secretary under the leadership of the chairman of the board, to provide oversight and scrutiny of, and support and guidance to, the chief executive officer and the activity centre management team. A group of twenty-five charity patrons provide overview over the trustees / directors.

2. Role Purpose:

2.1 The Trustees / Directors of the Walton Firs Foundation serve simultaneously as a charity trustees and as company directors, and manage statutory duties under the Companies Act 2006. They are responsible for the strategic direction, operational governance, and financial status of the organisation, and work closely with the chief executive officer to ensure the Foundation delivers its charitable objects and activities for the public benefit, in compliance with the Charity Commission’s regulations and company law. The role’s key accountabilities include ensurance of the Foundation’s capacity to manage high-quality outdoor education experiences and facilities for young people, whilst complying with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

3. Key Responsibilities:

Governance and Compliance:

3.1 The Trustees / Directors:

3.1.1 Ensure the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation / regulations including health and safety, safeguarding, data protection, and employment law.

3.1.2 Ensure the organisation is managed ethically and with integrity, and avoid conflicts of interest or misuse of charity / company assets.

3.1.3 Ensure that organisational policies, procedures, and practices comply with legal requirements and sector best practice.

3.1.4 Ensure the safeguarding and promotion of the wellbeing and safety of children and young people.

Strategic Leadership:

3.2 The Trustees / Directors:

3.2.1 Contribute to setting the organisation’s strategic direction, vision, mission, and values.

3.2.2 Monitor the organisation’s performance against agreed objectives and outcomes.

3.2.3 Ensure the organisation’s activities align with its charitable objects and activities, and provide measurable public benefit.

Financial Stewardship:

3.3 The Trustees / Directors:

3.3.1 Ensure effective and efficient management of the organisation’s resources, including safeguarding assets and ensuring funds are used exclusively to pursue the charity’s objects and activities.

3.3.2 Approve annual budgets, business plans, and financial statements.

3.3.3 Oversee risk management, ensuring appropriate internal controls, reserves, and sustainability planning.

Board and Organisational Development:

3.4 The Trustees / Directors:

3.4.1 Actively participate in board meetings and relevant committees.

3.4.2 Contribute expertise, constructive challenge, and support to the chief executive officer.

3.4.3 Support fundraising and income generation, ensuring compliance with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice.

3.4.4 Promote the organisation’s work to stakeholders, partners, and the wider community.

4. Statutory Duties as a Charity Trustee:

4.1 In accordance with the Charity Commission regulations, the Trustees of the Walton Firs Foundation:

4.1.1 Act in the charity’s best interests – prioritise the needs of the charity beneficiaries above personal or external interests.

4.1.2 Manage the charity’s resources responsibly – ensure effective use of charity funds, assets, and staff and volunteers.

4.1.3 Act with reasonable care and skill – use personal and professional competencies and experience to inform charity decision-making.

4.1.4 Ensure accountability – be answerable to beneficiaries, patrons, the Charity Commission, funders, and the wider public.

5. Statutory Duties as a Company Director:

5.1 In accordance with the Companies Act 2006, the Directors of the Walton Firs Foundation:

5.1.1 Promote the success of the company for the benefit of its customers.

5.1.2 Exercise independent judgment and make organisational decisions objectively.

5.1.3 Exercise reasonable care, skill and diligence based on personal and professional expertise and the standards expected of a company director.

5.1.4 Avoid conflicts of interest and declare any that arise.

5.1.5 Refuse benefits from third parties that could compromise their independence.

5.1.6 Ensure accurate records and filings are maintained with Companies House.

6. Person Specification:

6.1 Essential Criteria:

6.1.1 Commitment to the charity’s objects and activities: the provision of developmental outdoor education opportunities for the benefit of young people.

6.1.2 Knowledge and understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of charity trustees and company directors.

6.1.3 Capacity to think strategically and contribute to organisational policy and procedural development.

6.1.4 Effective communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.

6.1.5 Integrity, objectivity, and willingness to assert personal views and opinions.

6.1.6 Availability to attend meetings and engage fully in governance activities.

6.2 Desirable Criteria:

6.2.1 Experience of the delivery and management of education, youth work, outdoor learning, or related sectors.

6.2.2 Financial, legal, or governance expertise.

6.2.3 Fundraising, marketing, or business development experience.

6.2.4 Human resources, accountancy, project management experience.

6.2.5 Educational curriculum design and delivery, capital project management experience.

6.2.6 Health and safety and quality control and assurance procedures experience

6.2.7 Volunteer engagement and development experience

6.2.8 Lived experience or understanding of the needs and aspirations of young people.

7. Additional Information:

7.1 Trustees / Directors are appointed for a term of four years, renewable subject to board approval.

7.2 The Trustee / Director role is unpaid, but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed where requested.

7.3 Training and induction will be provided for Trustees / Directors, and ongoing development opportunities supported as required.

Mary’s Living & Giving Kew has become a much loved destination for followers of pre-loved fashion and a community hub for the wonderful residents of Kew. Located minutes from world famous Kew Gardens we welcome lots of UK and international visitors too.

Our Kew Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.
