Position Summary:
Leads the Talent Acquisition team to deliver efficient, compliant, and inclusive recruitment processes, ensuring alignment with workforce planning forecasts and organisational goals. Manages sourcing, selection, and candidate experience while collaborating with the Workforce Planning team to anticipate future talent needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment Strategy Execution

• Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes for assigned business units, from job briefings to offer management.

• Partner with the Workforce Planning team to align sourcing strategies with long-term talent demands and skills gap analysis.

• Implement proactive talent pipelines (e.g., LinkedIn, diversity networks) for critical and future-focused roles.

Team Management

• Manage and mentor Talent Acquisition Specialists/Coordinators, setting KPIs for time-to-fill, candidate quality, and diversity hiring.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs to upskill the team.

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

• Promote the organisation’s EVP through job postings, social media campaigns (in partnership with the Talent Communications Team), and candidate interactions.

• Ensure a positive candidate journey by resolving escalations and maintaining clear communication.

Compliance & Best Practices

• Ensure adherence to UK employment law (e.g., right-to-work checks, GDPR) and internal policies.

• Audit recruitment processes to mitigate bias and align with DE&I goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with hiring managers and the Workforce Planning team to define role requirements and refine selection criteria.

• Share talent market insights (e.g., competitor hiring trends, salary benchmarks) to inform workforce planning strategies.

• Collaborate with the Team Leader: Onboarding to ensure a smooth handover post-offer acceptance.

Requirements:

• Education & Certification: CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent (e.g., HR apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in HR).

• Experience: 3+ years in recruitment, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in relevant systems and programmes.

• Legal Knowledge: Working understanding of UK employment law and recruitment compliance.

• Collaboration: Proven experience engaging with workforce planning or HR analytics teams to align recruitment with business strategy.

• DE&I Focus: Experience designing inclusive hiring practices (e.g., blind CV screening, diverse interview panels).

About the role:

As a community champion volunteer you’ll be supporting Sense’s fundraising team, playing a vital role in helping Sense to raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities. 

You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and regional press to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at planning events, researching opportunities or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.  

This is a flexible role, with the opportunity to volunteer either virtually or in your local community. We are looking for volunteers able to offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month. 

We’re looking for people who are passionate about Sense’s work to support disabled people with complex needs and who have a calm, kind and friendly personality.

Please note that you will not be providing care for the people Sense supports as part of this role.

Due to the nature of the volunteer role, we cannot accept applications for anyone under the age of 18.

The four areas of the role:

Local public relations (PR) volunteer:

Boost Sense’s profile in your local community by:

• Writing content for local press releases.
• Building a network of local media contacts.
• Supporting regional output of national campaigns.

• Strong written communication
• Able to follow branding and messaging guidelines.
• Self-motivated and proactive in seeking opportunities. 

Fundraising researcher:

Help boost Sense’s regional income by researching available grants, partnerships and other local connections. Responsibilities include:

• Researching local grants and business partnerships.
• Researching networking events.
• Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

Skills needed:

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared. 

Community connector:

Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.

• Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.
• Giving presentations about Sense to local schools and community groups.
• Engaging with local businesses and groups, to forge new relationships for Sense.

Skills needed:

• Strong communication skills and enjoys public speaking opportunities.
• Well-connected in their local area, and love engaging with people.

We are looking for a Communications Officer who can strategically identify and post engaging content for our social media feeds and other communication channels, which will inspire people to support our work with refugees and asylum seekers in Epirus. You are the person who thinks “this would make a good post”, while activities are taking place. More than that, your interest and belief in digital communications as a force for good should be backed with an interest in data and analytics, using them to influence our overall communication strategy.

Your role would include:

• Interacting with our digital communities to increase engagement, followers and the quality of user experience.

• Identifying key influencers and conversations that we should engage in to better showcase our work and expand our reach.

• Managing our other channels of communication, including newsletters, donor engagement, website and press service.

You should be able to:

• Manage communication channels in a professional capacity

• Create and deliver communication strategies for specific programmes and campaigns

• Produce regular data reports using Facebook Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics or similar tools, analysing data and adapt strategies accordingly 

• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends/developments in digital communications

• Identify key influential external figures and agencies to further our reach and impact

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in a refugee context or with a vulnerable population

• Experience working in an NGO, Charity or in the field of human rights

Kent Wildlife Trust is one of the largest of the 46 Wildlife Trusts, which together make up The Wildlife Trusts federation. KWT is an independent charity supported by three wholly owned income-generating subsidiary companies which together make up the Kent Wildlife Trust Group. Our Wilder Kent 2030 strategy sets out our vision for creating a nature-rich, climate resilient Kent, in acknowledgement that we must act now at scale to recover nature across Kent, and the entire UK. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a voluntary Non-Executive Director to join the board of our subsidiary company Kent Wildlife Enterprises.

Established in 1996 Kent Wildlife Enterprises (KWE) receives and manages our core ‘non primary purpose’ trading income. This includes income generated through retail, our extensive events programme, and our Visitor Centre activities. KWE also receives the funds generated from our reserves through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) activities, including the sales of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and carbon units.

In 2026 KWE anticipates realising the benefits of an enhanced visitor experience at our Sevenoaks Visitor Centre following its refurbishment over the last year, as well as a refreshed online retail offering following the launch of our new KWT website. 

At a time when the nature and climate crises is becoming all too real, it is critical for the Trust to maximise income opportunities to support its work. KWE donates all its year-end profits to the parent charity to this aim. As a Non-Executive Director, you will join the board to provide independent oversight, strategic guidance and values-based leadership to the company, helping to ensure strong financial health, business growth and effective risk management.  You will work with fellow directors and the Trust’s senior leadership team to promote the success of the company, ensure compliance with legal, ethical and regulatory obligations and uphold the highest standards of environmental practice.

•            Environmental or heritage retail enterprises including e-commerce

•            Eco-tourism

•            Company finance, tax and accounting

•            Experience working with or within charities, social enterprises or trading subsidiaries

Prior experience in a senior leadership role is highly desirable.

The role is unpaid and voluntary, requiring attendance at a minimum of four board meetings per year, primarily online with occasional in-person meetings.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. About the role:

As a community champion volunteer you’ll be supporting Sense’s fundraising team, playing a vital role in helping Sense to raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities. 

You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and regional press to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at planning events, researching opportunities or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.  

This is a flexible role, with the opportunity to volunteer either virtually or in your local community. We are looking for volunteers able to offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month. 

We’re looking for people who are passionate about Sense’s work to support disabled people with complex needs and who have a calm, kind and friendly personality.

Please note that you will not be providing care for the people Sense supports as part of this role.

Due to the nature of the volunteer role, we cannot accept applications for anyone under the age of 18.

The four areas of the role:

As a Community Champion, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, organised into four main role categories. You can choose to get involved in one or more of these areas, and we’ll discuss your preferences with you as part of the application process. Please note, we don’t expect volunteers to take on every area. Instead, we’ll focus on what interests you most and shape the role around your strengths and skills.

Event volunteer:

Support Sense’s Community Fundraising team by:

• Organising your own fundraising events in aid of Sense.
• Supporting and participating in fundraising events at your local Sense services, and shops.
• Supporting with fundraising admin, for example sourcing prizes for Sense fundraisers.

Skills needed:

• Creative, with fresh fundraising ideas and enthusiasm.
• Organised, with the ability help co-ordinate multiple aspects of an event.

Local public relations (PR) volunteer:

Boost Sense’s profile in your local community by:

• Writing content for local press releases.
• Building a network of local media contacts.
• Supporting regional output of national campaigns. 

Skills needed:

• Strong written communication
• Able to follow branding and messaging guidelines.
• Self-motivated and proactive in seeking opportunities. 

Fundraising researcher:

Help boost Sense’s regional income by researching available grants, partnerships and other local connections. Responsibilities include:

• Researching local grants and business partnerships.
• Researching networking events.
• Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

Skills needed:

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared. 

Community connector:

Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.

• Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.
• Giving presentations about Sense to local schools and community groups.
• Engaging with local businesses and groups, to forge new relationships for Sense.

Skills needed:

• Strong communication skills and enjoys public speaking opportunities.
• Well-connected in their local area, and love engaging with people.
