Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

The Association for Real Change (ARC) is a charity which works in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board.

The role
We are seeking a Treasurer with experience of financial reporting, oversight and governance to join our Board of Trustees. The right candidate will work closely with the current Treasurer who will provide mentoring support until they step down from the Board in September 2026.

Trustees have individual and collective responsibility to ensure the highest standards of Governance for ARC. You will work with the ARC Chair, Board and Strategic Leadership Team to deliver our strategic vision and help ensure the long-term future and success of ARC. The Treasurer is a trustee that offers strategic and financial oversight of the charity.

The ARC Board of Trustees meet four times a year; one in-person and three online, so the role will require a degree of travel and the occasional overnight stay.  Our Board is inclusive of people with additional needs who are experts by experience. 

This is a voluntary position.  Your travel and other out of pocket expenses will be paid.

About you 
You have experience of financial reporting, oversight and governance of a charity. A financial qualification would be helpful.

We are particularly keen to hear from you if:

· You have experience of delivering positive social change, either in your professional or personal life. 

· You are a leader in social care, delivering or improving the support people get. 

· You have experience monitoring the financial matters of a charity.

Terms of Office

This post may be held for a term of 3 years, then the post holder may stand for re-election for a further 3 years, after which time the post holder must stand down.

Person Specification

· A commitment to the values and principles of human rights, equality and inclusion.

· Understanding of the experiences of people with learning disabilities, autistic people, or people with other support needs - and their families.

· Knowledge and experience of accounting practices for corporate governance

· Knowledge and experience of financial regulations governing charities and companies

· Qualification in financial management and or financial auditing is desirable.

Our charity funds around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under our microscope.  Our volunteers help us fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Our Sales Floor Volunteers are the first point of contact for customers when they enter our charity shop. You will be greeting customers, helping them find the items they’re looking for and answering their questions, with help on hand from the shop team. You will provide invaluable help in the running of the shop, keeping it stocked and attractively displayed. 

Just so you know, we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 17 or with unspent criminal convictions. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop. 

Typical tasks include: 

• Helping customers on the shop floor & providing good all-round customer service 
• Promoting our campaigns and any instore sales to customers 
• Working on window and shop displays to make them look their best
• Keeping the shop tidy, clean and well organised – some light housekeeping 
• Helping your fellow volunteers and staff with customer queries

As an Online Shop Listing Volunteer, you'll volunteer onsite creating listings that help customers find and buy donated items with confidence.

By writing clear titles and descriptions, and gathering all the details needed to publish listings, you'll play a direct part in generating the income that supports Oxfam's work fighting poverty and injustice worldwide.

Purpose of the Role

As a Collection Tin Volunteer, you’ll play a vital part in supporting Momentum’s fundraising in your local community. This is a friendly, social role that gets you out and about on your local high street, building positive relationships with shop owners, café staff, and pub teams who support our charity or want to start supporting us.

You’ll commit a few hours each month to finding new local businesses to support our cause, as well as visiting existing business supporters to collect full donation tins and replace them with empty ones (at least every three months).

You will be responsible for handling and banking cash in line with the Fundraising Regulator and Momentum’s policies with training and oversight from the Community Fundraiser. To do this, you must hold a valid DBS or be willing to obtain a DBS upon application. Your contribution helps raise essential funds while also spreading awareness of Momentum and the work we do for local families.

We are particularly keen to hear from volunteers able to cover the following areas:

Addlestone, Ashtead, Barnes, Chertsey, Chessington, Cobham, Dorking, Effingham, Epsom, Leatherhead, Shepperton, Sunbury, Sutton, Teddington, Twickenham, and Worcester Park.  Sussex.

By volunteering as a Collection Tin Volunteer, you’ll not only make a meaningful difference locally, but also gain new skills, confidence, and social connections.

Key Responsibilities

· Collecting full donation tins from local shops, cafés, pubs, and other venues

· Replacing collected tins with empty ones in a timely and professional manner

· Researching new areas and businesses for tins to be placed

Baking and cooking helps to relax, get creative and indulge in our senses. Often, it can spark nostalgia and helps us to recreate positive experiences or memories. Inspire and motivate people in our services to do something that brings joy, an opportunity to learn new skills whilst connecting with others over sharing baked goods and delicious meals.

What you will be doing

• Research and plan new recipes for cooking/baking sessions in collaboration with the group each week
• Encourage individuals to participate in the sessions and delegate cooking tasks
• Support individuals to shop for ingredients needed for the session
• Support individuals each week in setting up for the sessions and tidying away afterwards
• Encourage individuals to participate in all aspects of the planning and attendance

Fundraising Volunteer

Every year, RSPCA North West London & South Hertfordshire Branch CIO rescues, cares for and rehomes hundreds of unwanted, stray and abandoned animals.
We also support local pet owners who are struggling to afford essential veterinary treatment, helping animals get the care they need and stay with the people who love them.

We are a local RSPCA branch and we raise our own funds. The money we bring in through donations, grants, gifts in wills and local support makes a real difference to what we can do for animals in our area.

We are looking for a Fundraising Volunteer to help us find new ways to raise money and build support for our work.

This could be a lovely role for someone who has some fundraising experience and would like to use their skills for a cause they care about. You do not need to be an animal welfare expert. What matters most is that you care about animals, enjoy bringing ideas together, and can help us explain clearly why our work needs support.

You don't need to be an expert in everything listed below, but some experience in one or more of these areas would be helpful.

What you will be doing

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you may help with:

• Researching suitable grant-making trusts, foundations and local funding opportunities

• Helping to prepare information for grant applications and funding bids

• Supporting donation appeals for specific projects, such as veterinary care, animal accommodation, equipment or rehoming work

• Previous fundraising experience

• An interest in animal welfare and the work of the Branch

• Good written communication skills

Time commitment

This is a flexible role and much of it can be done from home.
You are welcome to spend time in our office if you would like to work alongside the team.

Support and guidance

We want our volunteers to feel confident, supported and valued. You will receive guidance from the Branch, along with relevant information, policies and processes to help you carry out the role well.
