Seabex

We optimize agricultural water use through AI-powered irrigation recommendations and verified environmental impact measurement.

Business Development Assistant

Most volunteer roles in sustainability ask you to research, assist, or support. This one asks you to build.

Seabex is an AI-powered agricultural water intelligence platform operating across France, Tunisia, and Spain. Our platform helps farmers optimize irrigation without any hardware installation, using satellite imagery and agronomic AI models. We work with 500+ recurring farmers across 60,000+ hectares, with independently validated water savings of 16 to 40%. We are also building Water Savings Certificates (WSC) — a first-of-its-kind MRV infrastructure that will allow corporations to account for water savings in their supply chain under CSRD/ESRS E3 reporting obligations.

As our Business Development Volunteer, you will identify and qualify corporate leads, map partnership opportunities with agricultural institutions across France and Spain, conduct competitive research, and directly contribute to a commercial pipeline that matters.

You will work closely with the CEO and founding team — not a middle manager, not an intern coordinator. Your work will feed directly into deals with agri-food corporations, irrigation cooperatives, and institutional buyers.

What we are looking for

• A proactive self-starter with an interest in climate, agriculture, or water.
• Background in business, agronomy, sustainability, or engineering.
• French or English fluency (both is a plus).
• Ability to commit 5 to 10 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months.

Shop Volunteering Opportunities

Skipton

Our shops are at the heart of local communities raising vital funds for our fight against homelessness and bad housing - and they’re powered by our volunteers!

Suggested Involvement: It’s up to you! We have volunteers who support for one hour a week and others who volunteer more. Many people volunteer for a morning or an afternoon each week, but we’ll have a chat about your availability after you’ve applied.

Availability: The shop will be open Monday - Sunday (times tbc)

Supervised by: Community Shop Manager / Assistant Manager

What can I do?

After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal chat to find the right role for you. Some roles involve a basic criminal record check being completed during recruitment. Having a criminal record does not mean that you cannot volunteer with us, but it may impact the ways you can get involved.

• Volunteering in the shop

Our retail volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

- You will not undergo a criminal record check for this role   

• Volunteering in a leadership role

Our volunteer supervisors help with overseeing the running of our shop and creating a fantastic environment for our customers. You may be involved with coordinating and supporting other volunteers, operating computer systems, and being a key point of contact for the shop.

Skills and Experiences Required:

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked in a shop before as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and willing to follow Shelter’s policies and can be an excellent ambassador for Shelter. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of bad housing or homelessness.

Induction, Learning and Development:

To enable you to take part in this opportunity Shelter will:

• Welcome you with a Volunteer Handbook
• Provide training, induction, and ongoing support from your Shop Manager to help you feel confident in your role
• Refund any out-of-pocket expenses in line with Shelter’s volunteer expenses policy

Are you interested in fashion, weddings or proms? Then this could be a fantastic volunteer role for you. The role includes helping brides pick out a dress for their big special day, chatting to the relatives and making the experience one to remember! The St Barnabas Shop in Worthing town Centre offer a wide range of beautiful affordable outfits, including wedding dresses, suits and prom dresses.

You’ll get the chance to meet new people and make friends, plus you’ll be part of a fantastic team of volunteers. We are ideally looking for assistance on a Saturday and one day during the week, however please do get in touch to discuss availability.

Oxfam are currently looking for volunteers 

We believe that volunteering should not leave you out of pocket so reasonable transport costs are paid if you wish. Also lunch if you are volunteering for over a 5 hour shift.

We have volunteer vacancies to suit you, it might be meeting and greeting on the till and taking in donations? We need Merchandiser, Book volunteers, Clothing and homeware volunteers to treasure hunt through our many donations. 

Do you have an interest in stamps or coins? Vinyl? Vintage? you really dont need to be an expert, just have an interest.

Please note this is an unpaid volunteer role but out of pocket expenses like reasonable travel cost are paid and lunch will be paid for if volunteering over 5 hours.
