The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary and highly organised Head of Volunteering to establish and lead our global volunteering function. This is a senior volunteer role ideal for someone who enjoys building systems from scratch, shaping culture, and empowering people.

You will design and launch our volunteering programme, create the systems and processes that underpin it, and lead the recruitment, onboarding and retention of volunteers across the foundation. As we grow, you will build and oversee a dedicated volunteer department.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the foundation’s global volunteering strategy.

• Create volunteer systems, processes, policies, and best‑practice frameworks.

• Design volunteer role descriptions, onboarding pathways, training materials, and engagement methods.

• Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of volunteers across all teams.

• Establish a positive, inclusive, and inspiring volunteer culture aligned with our mission and values.

• Set up and manage a volunteer management system (VMS) and reporting processes.

We are looking for people to help lead some our teams across the organisation. We are volunteer led and manage 65+ volunteers across the country, most of them remoately. There are 10 different teams ranging from creative to business development. We are looking for up to 10 people to help with the coordination of feedback, delegation of tasks and assisting with running monthly meetings. We have a very diverse team of volunteers from all different culture, religons and disabilities.

The role focuses on SEO, content systems, and structured knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an SEO and content strategy aligned with CIC’s mission and campaigns
• Conduct keyword research and topic analysis related to CSA awareness, survivor support, and education
• Plan structured content systems such as pillar pages, topic clusters, and learning pathways
• Work with copywriters, designers, and campaign leads to prioritise content
• Optimise website pages, blogs, and campaign content for search visibility and accessibility
• Track content performance using search and engagement data
