Fair Shot is a London-based charity on a mission to transform the lives of young adults with learning disabilities by breaking down barriers to employment. Through our training café and hospitality-based social enterprise, we provide real-life work experience, skills training, and supported internships that lead to meaningful jobs and independence.

Now in our fourth year and led by our Founder & CEO, we’ve grown to a team of 24 and operate with a hybrid income model: 50% from our hospitality revenue streams and 50% from fundraising.

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Director (volunteer, pro bono) to help shape our financial strategy and structure as we scale. You’ll play a vital leadership role in ensuring sound financial governance and driving our mission forward through strong fiscal stewardship.

Time Commitment: 10 hours/week
Start: Immediate
Location: Primarily remote, with initial onboarding and some in-person meetings in London
Minimum Commitment: 1 year (renewable)

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee the charity’s overall P&L (profit and loss) and financial performance

• Develop and implement long-term financial strategies in collaboration with the CEO

• Improve and maintain financial systems, controls, and internal processes

• Manage the relationship with our part-time accountant (10 hrs/week), who handles:

  • Monthly reconciliations

  • Filing expenditures

  • Paying invoices

• Oversee two bank accounts — one for fundraising (restricted/unrestricted) and one for hospitality revenue

• Prepare for annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Guide cash flow planning, budgeting, and forecasting

• Present financial reports, risks, and insights to the Board of Trustees

• Work closely with the CEO and Head of Operations on all financial planning and decision-making

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in senior finance roles, including P&L ownership

• Ideally experienced in the charity and/or hospitality/social enterprise sectors

• In-depth understanding of UK charity finances, including restricted/unrestricted funds

• Experience improving financial structures and preparing for audits

• Comfortable advising founders, leadership teams, and boards

• (Desirable) Relevant qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA, or MBA

Role Title- Lead Graphic Designer

Location- Remote, UK-based

Are you a visual storyteller with a passion for branding and design leadership? We are seeking a visionary Lead Graphic Designer to shape our creative direction and bring bold ideas to life. In this role, you will be working on end-to-end design projects, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver compelling campaigns that elevate our brand and captivate our audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop engaging and impactful visual brand assets for Youth Advantage UK (YAUK).
• Establish, document, and maintain comprehensive brand identity guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all creative outputs.
• Lead the strategic redesign and day-to-day management of the Youth Advantage UK website (hosted on Wix).
• Design high-quality, fast-turnaround visual assets for LinkedIn and other social media channels to support timely campaigns, events, and organisational storytelling.

Essential Skills

• Strong graphic design and visual storytelling abilities.
• Experience in editorial layout and digital design.
• Proficiency in photo editing, ideally skilled in Adobe Photoshop.
• Familiarity with creative tools such as Canva, Adobe After Effects, or Premiere is advantageous, though not essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or currently pursuing one.
• A portfolio showcasing academic or professional design work.

As a Trustee at NSDAS with a focus on the Treasurer role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the financial stability and integrity of the charity. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees CEO and Finance Manager to oversee the financial management of the charity, providing strategic guidance and ensuring compliance with certain regulatory requirements.

The role of the Treasurer

A powerful campaigning organisation, Brain Tumour Research is the leading voice of the brain tumour community in the UK. Unique and much needed, we are the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Our work focuses on campaigning to increase the national investment in research into brain tumours to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence, across the UK. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.  All of us at Brain Tumour Research are passionate about finding a cure for this devastating disease.  

About the roles
We are looking to strengthen and complement our Board of Trustees with the addition of two Trustees with experience in (1) charitable fundraising/ income generation, and (2) marketing and communications, possibly with campaigning and policy experience. As a member of the Board of Trustees you will play a key role in ensuring sustainable growth of the charity, contributing to overall strategic direction and providing scrutiny to our processes and decisions as well as ensuring standards of governance are upheld.   
 
This role is pro-bono with Board meetings held in person four times a year in Milton Keynes and Sub-Committees held three to four times a year online. You will attend the annual Board away day in person and join one or more sub-committees. Trustees are given the opportunity to work together through participation at our annual research workshops as well as receptions at our Research Centres and parliamentary events and undertake structured learning and development. 

Appointment is for a 3-year term with the potential to serve 2 additional terms.

The Skills and Experience we are looking for
The ideal person will have a background at board or senior leadership level and will have significant experience in raising charitable income and/or campaigning and policy, ideally in the charity sector. You will be an effective communicator and be able to think creatively and strategically and work collaboratively with Board members, the Leadership team and key partners.

Since 1990, Open Country has been helping people with disabilities to access and enjoy the countryside. The voluntary role of Treasurer is a crucial role in helping us manage our finances responsibly and sustainably. You will serve as a Trustee of the Charity and a Director of the Limited Company, helping us to make informed decisions to allow us to perform our inspirational work.

We have a part-time Finance Officer and use a local firm of book-keepers to prepare our monthly management accounts using Paxton software. Payroll issues are dealt with using the services of another third party. Thus, your input will be primarily at a governance level rather than one of financial administration.

We seek someone with the following attributes:

- Ability to analyse financial data and assess their financial impact on our charity.

- A great teamwork ethic and willingness to work collaboratively with other Board members and staff.

- Previous financial experience, ideally in the charity sector.

- A strong commitment to Open Country's values and purpose.

We are looking for volunteer van drivers to join our team. Usually, our drivers are out between 9am-1pm, however some afternoon opportunities may be available. You will be delivering food parcels to various pick up points around Barnsley, as well as picking up donations. Must have a valid, clean driving licence. We will be in touch with applicants for an informal chat if successful.

Asian MS is a national support group that offers tailored and culturally-sensitive services for Asian people with MS, their carers, friends and family. It's aimed at people whose heritage originates from South Asia.

As an Asian MS Community Engagement Volunteer you will the Group's local representative, helping us to find and attend events and reaching out to your local Asian MS community to raise awareness and extend the reach of the Group.

This role is very flexible, but there will be planning time (with your staff contact) and also attending events, meetings with networks and presentations. We would estimate the role taking no longer than 10 hours per month.

You’ll have support from a member of staff as well as a welcome and induction checklist which lists what resources are available to support you in your role.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community.

We would like you to get involved in brainstorming new ideas for social media content. You will regularly create, schedule and post compelling content for social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). We would also appreciate the creation and maintenance of a our social media content calendar.
