Love being out in the community and meeting new dogs? We are looking for friendly and organised volunteers to run fun dog shows at local events, helping to raise funds for our animals. 

This is a flexible role, great if you’re not able to volunteer regularly. Most events are on weekends or bank holidays over the spring and summer.

What you’ll be doing

• Working in a small team to run a fun dog show. Preparing for the event and driving to the venue in our van.
• Setting up the ring, registering dogs, judging classes and chatting to people about our work.

What you’ll need

• Comfortable being around all kinds of dogs and reading their behaviour
• Confident and engaging, able to announce to groups and talk to people individually
• Good level of fitness and mobility, happy being on your feet for long periods

Art plays a valuable role in mental wellbeing with research showing that crafting, regardless of the medium you use can boost your mood, self-confidence and reduce stress overall. Welcome & Reception Volunteer Merseyside

Do you want to help people experiencing the housing emergency?

Information about the role

You’ll be an essential part of the team, welcoming clients and visitors to the hub. You’ll be providing information and key admin support that enables people to get the help they need with their housing.

Location: Holy Trinity Church, Richmond Park, Liverpool, Merseyside,

Suggested contribution: One day per week (can be flexible around your commitments).

Availability: Volunteering will take place at a time that suits you, within Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm

• Meeting and greeting clients and visitors

• Covering reception duties and being the first point of contact for the hub.

This role fights the housing emergency by enabling people who are struggling with housing or homelessness to get the advice and support they need.

Volunteer Drivers 

Enthusiastic, hands-on volunteers needed to help provide food to the community. Bounds Green Food Bank is fortunate in receiving food and other donations from local supermarkets, businesses and individuals. We are grateful to our team of volunteer drivers who both collect and deliver on the food bank’s behalf each week. 

Hours: At any time during the week - this is a very flexible role and there is no minimum time commitment, can choose deliveries to suit your own schedule.

Location: Around the Enfield and Haringey area

About Bounds Green Food Bank: 

Open since June 2020, we serve over 1,500 children and adults in the community. We are committed to improving lives by providing food and essential household items to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow. We strive to promote social inclusion by supporting people who find themselves in a crisis situation where they need assistance to feed themselves and their families.

Requirements:

• A driver's license and your own vehicle

• WhatsApp, as this is how deliveries are organised

The role: 

• Each week a timetable showing scheduled food donations by local stores and businesses is posted on the volunteer drivers’ WhatsApp group

• Drivers indicate to the group that they are able to make a particular collection, adding their name to the schedule (this is editable by all chat members)

• Once collected, the donation will need to be delivered either to the hall or to a nearby storage facility according to instructions

• The food bank also makes up parcels for guests unable to access the hall in person. Drivers collect from the hall and deliver  to guests, all of whom live within the surrounding area

You don’t need years of experience or a perfect CV. You just need to be organised, reliable, people‑focused and excited by the idea of helping build something meaningful from the ground up.

You might help with:

• Setting up simple operational systems and processes.

• Coordinating volunteers and supporting early team development.

• Helping organise community activities and pilot projects.

• Managing admin, scheduling and behind‑the‑scenes logistics.

• Supporting the Founder with day‑to‑day tasks as the charity grows.

• Bringing positive energy, structure and kindness to everything we do.

What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork
• Championing our work – helping to develop new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• Photography – capturing images of cats in care, cats we’re helping, fundraising events, and all things Cats Protection

Join Vault Youth Zone as a Volunteer Youth Worker and help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging space for young people aged 8–19 (up to 25 for young people with additional needs). Volunteers support the Recreation & Engagement team in delivering activities such as pool, table tennis, board games, challenges, group discussions, themed projects, and social activities.

As a volunteer, you will help young people build confidence, make friends, develop new skills, and feel part of a positive community. You will encourage participation, promote our values, and act as a positive role model while working alongside our team of youth workers.

No previous youth work experience is required. Ongoing support and training will be provided.

Help young people feel safe, supported, and inspired. Build confidence, resilience, and social connections among young people. Create positive experiences that encourage personal development and wellbeing. Support an inclusive environment where young people can have fun, express themselves, and develop life skills.
