“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Personal Assistant to support daily coordination, scheduling, and communication tasks across departments. What You’ll Do

As a Meet & Greet Volunteer, you’ll be a friendly first point of contact at our day centre, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-supported environment for people living with dementia, their families, and visitors.

You will:

· Welcome clients, visitors, and family members as they arrive

· Help maintain a safe environment by being present and aware of who is entering and leaving the centre

· Gently support clients to remain within safe areas if needed

· Provide information, leaflets, or signposting to visitors

· Work alongside staff to ensure the day runs smoothly

What You Will Do

As part of a dual-lead operational team, your role will span a range of business and project administration duties:

• Programme Delivery: Jointly manage and deliver community hub programmes (90% of which are free), ranging from our Homeschooling Hub to After-School and Holiday Clubs.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Support staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders, ensuring the team remains timely, professional, and kind during service delivery.
• CEO Support: Coordinate directly with the CEO to manage workflows, schedule essential meetings, and align project timelines.

Desirable Criteria:

• Driving License: A clean, valid UK driving license is highly preferred.
• Background Checks: A current Enhanced DBS check is ideal, though we can arrange this for you.

Commitment & Flexibility

We require a combined commitment across our core office days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with online remote workflows on Tuesday and Friday.

As this is an official job-share arrangement, the two Operations Leads will divide and coordinate these days between them to ensure seamless operational cover across the 3 core days.

What you will be doing

• Arranging to talk with potential beneficiaries (on the phone or face to face) at a mutually convenient time
• Understanding peoples’ support needs and gathering information to assess their circumstances
• Typing written case reports to apply for financial assistance
• Sign-posting to services providing specialist support, such as mental health or housing support
• Keeping beneficiaries and the SSAFA regional office up to date with progress
