JOB TITLE: Outreach Coordinator (Families and Patients, all ages 0-25)
HOURS OF WORK: 24 or 32 hours per week £27,500 FTE – Actual Salary = 24h £16,500 PA / 32h £22,000
PLACE OF WORK: ECHO charity Office, 1 Royal Street, London SE1 7LL, Office & hospital-based Evelina London Children’s Hospital, with some community
Days of Work: Mandatory Monday team day & Thursday will be an 8 pm finish. Actual days/hours to be agreed.

ECHO’s Outreach Coordinator will provide support to families of children and young people aged 0-25 affected by CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) and patients.
This role will have around 20% of time to focus on finding out the needs of 18-25 patients, parents, and siblings, and developing support and information for them.
We are an independent charity who support families treated by the Evelina, London & Royal Brompton, and Harefield hospital networks, and the CHD network of 47 local hospitals, and are based close to the Evelina London Children’s Hosptial.
Can you… work in a hospital environment, on the phone, and online; plan visits or events such as a zoo trip or a party; support children, young people, and families through diagnosis, treatment, care, and, at times, the loss of a child; and provide needs-led emotional, social, and practical support to children with heart conditions, their siblings, parents, and carers?
Can you also research the needs of 18–25-year-olds, develop peer support and programmes for them, and deliver this on a small budget with patient and carer input throughout?
This role provides high-quality emotional, social, and practical support to children with heart conditions, their siblings, parents, and carers, from birth to 25 years. You will deliver 1-to-1 outreach in the hospital and the community, lead play and wellbeing activities, and maintain a visiting programme across children’s departments, including PICU, Cardiac, and NICU. 20% of your focus is supporting young people aged 18–25, identifying their needs, assessing numbers, and developing peer support programmes. The role also involves creating resources and accurate information for families, offering guidance for those facing bereavement or loss, promoting wellbeing across hospitals and networks, planning events, contributing to closed social media groups, maintaining records, and capturing impact through case studies and testimonials.

You will have experience of working in emotionally demanding situations, be dedicated to supporting people, and be able to guide families through the impact of medical diagnosis, treatment, and bereavement with compassion and understanding.
Support
- Provide a safe space for families, in person, online, and on the phone
- Provide support to children, young people, and parents/carers affected by CHD from diagnosis to adult
- Research the support needs of younger adults, from 18 – 25 years across the CHD community, including patients, siblings/young carers, and parents/carers.
- Ensure EDI is a primary focus for ECHO – help us ensure everyone can access our services
- Be there from diagnosis throughout childhood – work with our Youth Worker & Families and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure our families are supported
- Create ways to utilise the ECHO database to understand our own membershipsProvide information and support to families of children with heart conditions and those with additional needs
- Review and upgrade information for families, build strong relationships with referrers by attending meetings, providing talks and outreach across the network hospitals, delivering paediatric Cardiology services via Evelina London and the Royal Brompton
- Seek to offer support services to families treated locally in network hospitals – Annual mail out & visit
- Represent families throughout the community and consider the varied needs of ECHO members and how they might be included in our service offering
- Research what do young parents under 25 need, what about the needs of patients who are 18-25
- Provide fun sessions to children, young people and families
- Bringing like-minded people together, our events are a vital part of your work- some will be out of hours

Working closely with the Individual Giving & Engagement team, you’ll help deliver donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship activity, ensuring our supporters feel valued and engaged at every stage of their journey.
You’ll work across a wide-ranging programme including appeals, in-memory giving, supporter communications, legacy activity and digital engagement. From coordinating campaigns and updating supporter journeys, to analysing performance and supporting financial processes, this is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same.
We’re looking for someone who can balance creativity with strong organisation, enjoys working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and is motivated by making a real difference. The Role
Inscape house school is recruiting for a tutor to to deliver Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) and teach animal care, welfare, and related work experience skills to students within our secondary provision. The Animal Assisted Intervention Tutor will design and deliver accessible, meaningful and aspirational animal-care and AAI-based learning opportunities, including accredited qualifications such as BTEC and/or ASDAN in Animal Care (or similar).
Inscape House School is a non-maintained ASC specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years. It is part of the Together Trust, a charity that has been providing care, education and support in the Northwest of England since 1870. The post holder will be a member of Inscape House School on the Cheadle campus.

Responsibilities Include but are not exhaustive;
Teaching
- Work flexibly and adapt teaching strategies to ensure animal care and AAI content is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to individual learner needs.
- Embed Tier 1 universal support strategies within practical animal-care and AAI sessions to meet the diverse needs of learners with autism.
- Deliver accredited qualifications, including BTEC and/or ASDAN programmes in Animal Care (or similar), and support learners to build evidence for assessment portfolios.
Management of Staff
- Effectively deploy Education Assistants (EAs) to facilitate learning, ensuring that all support positively impacts on the development of every pupil’s independence.
- Work with colleagues to support students to plan, carry out and reflect on animal care routines and structured AAI activities.
Curriculum Knowledge
- Have a secure knowledge of animal care, animal welfare and husbandry practice, and associated curricula (e.g. BTEC/ASDAN Animal Care or similar).
- Be able to foster and maintain pupils’ interest in your preferred key stage and subject, and address misunderstandings.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of functional literacy, articulacy, and the correct use of Standard English and Numeracy within the context of animal care (e.g. care plans, observations/record sheets, measuring feed, timetables and routines).
Accurate and productive use of assessment
- Know and understand how to assess pupil progress, including appropriate statutory assessment requirements.
- Make use of formative and summative assessment to secure pupils’ progress.
- Use progress data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons.
Professional Communication
- Attend and contribute to pupils’ review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Work with pupils, families and the multi-disciplinary teams to identify pupil centred goals.
- Demonstrate skill in communicating with pupils with autism and a range of physical, cognitive, and communication difficulties.
Training
- Comply with the school’s mandatory training requirements.
- Attend conferences and meetings including professional shows as required.
- Attend external and internal training courses as agreed for continual professional development and meeting appraisal objectives.
- Read current literature on autism and special educational needs and to disseminate information to the rest of the staff team.
About You
- Experience in animal care/animal welfare (e.g. kennels, stables, farms, rescue, shelters, zoos, veterinary environments, or education-based animal provision)
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd) QTS/QTLS
- Vocational Qualifications:
- A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Animal Care, Animal Management, Animal Science, Equine Management, or a related subject (or equivalent substantial industry experience).
- Evidence of relevant training such as animal welfare, safe handling/restraint, infection control, risk assessment, and/or Animal Assisted Intervention practice.
- Experience of successful work with pupils displaying challenging behaviour.
- Ability to identify, clarify, prioritise and solve problems as they arise.
- The ability to use information technology to communicate with others, track academic progress and share planning and resources.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- Knowledge and understanding of strategies for inclusion and equal opportunities.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety expectations affecting children and adults across the school
