We are looking for a candidate to cover our Fundraising and Communications Manager’s maternity leave from the end of June 2024 until the end of March 2025. Your role will be to implement ASN’s fundraising strategy, working with volunteers and a small staff team to diversify and increase the charity’s income. You will focus on fundraising from trusts and foundations and major donors, as well as managing individual campaigns and overseeing ASN’s external communications.

Job Description – Projects Assistant

Projects Assistant role description
The role involves identifying relevant project and research opportunities; assisting with developing winning bids and delivering successful projects. Examples of recent projects include developing a water scarcity index for BSi and creating an evaluation framework for water saving campaigns. You will report to a Projects Manager and be joining a small but growing sub-team winning and delivering water efficiency research projects. For example, part of your role will be to support the delivery of an existing Ofwat Innovation Funded Water Literacy project which is developing a new training and accreditation offering on water.
Key responsibilities in the role include:

This role will join our Marketing and Communications directorate, an innovative team of people who are committed to raising the profile of WithYou and connecting with our stakeholders in new ways.
Reporting into the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will take the lead in running the reactive press office function as well as planning and delivering a regular calendar of national proactive media moments, securing positive national coverage in print, broadcast and digital channels. REQUIRED SKILLS
We are looking for candidates with excellent creative writing skills and experience in creating content for a wide range of audiences, making complex articles interesting and accessible to all. Strong organisational skills and being able to plan ahead are key to this role, along with experience of working to tight deadlines.

Fundraising Manager (Grants and Trusts)
Working closely with the Chief Executive, the Fundraising Manager will help secure and sustain existing and new grant income streams from trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory bodies, and other local or national funders. The Fundraising Manager will work with others to research and identify prospective new funding opportunities, write and submit grant applications, and build strong relationships with donors. Parentkind is a national charity and we work across all four nations of the United Kingdom and the devolved institutions and governments.

This is an exciting role if you have a passion for politics, a background in policy research and interested in education policy and politics.
The role will involve conducting research on education policy and making policy recommendations based on that research. Some research will be time sensitive and involve summarising information and presenting it in an easy to understand way. There will be longer research projects to support the charity to develop policy positions and maintain our position as a strong voice for parents in education.
Alongside the research requirements of the role, you will be expected to support our political and broader stakeholder engagement activity to make sure the work we do is understood and seen by the right people.

Fundraising Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fundraising Manager to implement the fundraising strategy for an important charity.
Position: Fundraising Manager
Location: Remote with some travel required for in-person meetings and events
Hours: Part-time, 28 flexible hours per week
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract with opportunity to extend
Salary: £35,200 per annum for 4 days per week

About the role:
The purpose of the Fundraising Manager’s role is to develop the role and fundraising strategy of the organisation. You will support the CEO with creating the role, strategy, systems, and activities of income generation for the organisation. You will lead in securing funds from trusts and foundations through grant applications and develop the individual giving campaign as well as leading the growth and future development of new income streams from individuals, corporate partnerships, and other sources. Within all of this, you will oversee the strategy to grow the Fund HER pot of funds that are growing to distribute to women candidates preparing for future elections.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work with the CEO throughout the contract to design the role of Fundraising Manager as we develop strategy, systems, and activities within the parameters of a 28-hour working week.
- Develop a fundraising and business development strategy, including individual giving, third sector and statutory bodies to move us towards greater sustainability and diversity of income streams.
- Develop a specific Fund HER strategy to build the pot of funds for us to distribute to women candidates preparing for future elections.
- Work with the CEO and wider team to organise any income generation events as articulated in the strategy.
- Achieve agreed grant income targets through writing successful grant applications and tenders.
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of funders and their criteria, through the ongoing research of potential trust and grant funders.
- Maintain excellent relationships with current funders and develop strong relationships with new and prospective funders to prompt ongoing and increased giving.
- Work closely with the CEO to ensure that funders receive accurate outcomes and impact-focused reporting information within agreed timescales.
- Develop, maintain, and update the organisation’s grant funding database.

The Role
