What the job offers 

This is an exciting new post at our charity to take forward our Strategy to expand our service support and reach more people in need.  You’ll be responsible for recruiting and on-boarding a diverse team of volunteers who contribute to SLT’s programmes. You won’t be managing volunteers at activities – that’s handled by other team members – but you will make sure that all volunteers feel welcomed, trained, supported and valued. You will provide regular supervision outside activities and work with staff to develop inclusive, consistent volunteering practices across the charity.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for the value of volunteering, who can bring energy and initiative to develop our volunteer workforce.  You will have a proven track record of supporting volunteers in a community/social care setting. You will have ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues across teams. You will have confidence in delivering inductions and facilitating small group supervision sessions. You will demonstrate good organisational and communication skills, including the ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.  You will be willing to undertake occasional evening work for volunteer availability.

Who are we?

London Gypsies and Travellers (LGT) is an organisation that challenges social exclusion and discrimination, working for change in partnership with Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people. We work with families across London Boroughs, including those living on council caravan sites, roadside camps, in bricks and mortar housing, and those experiencing homelessness.

Our Bright Futures programme offers mentoring and skills support to young Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people aged 15–25 years. Through tailored one-to-one work, group activities and practical help, we support young people to build confidence, motivation and pride in their identity, while developing the tools they need to succeed in wider society.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Youth Project Worker to support the delivery of Bright Futures. This is a varied role that combines project coordination, outreach support, administration, and direct engagement with young people.

You’ll help keep the programme running smoothly behind the scenes while also building trusted relationships with partner services and young people and families, supporting communications, and contributing to learning and reflection.

What will the role involve?

As a Youth Project Worker, you will:

• Support the day-to-day administration of the mentoring and employability programme, including record-keeping and report preparation
• Help coordinate communications activities such as creating new material, WhatsApp updates, and social media
• Maintain and grow referral networks with employers, training providers, and community organisations
• Engage directly with young people and their families to raise awareness and encourage participation
• Hold a light caseload of mentees and support mentoring activities as needed
• Contribute to programme monitoring, evaluation, and learning

Contract Terms

Job Purpose

Gaddum has secured external funding to deliver an Employer care project, which will provide unpaid carers living in Manchester with support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid or voluntary employment.

Delivery of this support to carers will be by Employment Coaches, who will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training. You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations. Successful employment coaches believe in the potential of every individual they work with.

Core responsibilities

• To support carers to address their barriers to employment by providing individual tailored packages of support so they can develop the necessary skills and confidence to secure and sustain employment.
• To act as coach and a mentor to build strong positive relationships, guide, motivate, challenge, encourage and help carers obtain sustainable employment.
• To ensure delivery targets are achieved by working with carers to identify employment opportunities and support them into and during employment.
• To meet personal performance targets and Key Performance Indicators.
• To manage a caseload of carers and utilise a variety of coaching strategies to help carers overcome barriers to obtaining sustainable employment.
• To undertake in-depth assessments using a suite of tools to fully understand a carers circumstances, preferences and holistic barriers to progression.

Then join our team supporting Young Carers, aged 5-18 years, who have caring responsibilities for someone in their family due to disability, long-term illness, mental health, or drug or alcohol misuse.

You’ll deliver the service across Dover and Folkestone and Hythe, so your own car is essential. You will manage an existing caseload and new referrals, meeting with families and Young Carers to complete statutory assessments and providing short-term interventions that support Young Carers to improve their resilience, educational chances and wellbeing. This might be signposting to local services, action planning, one-to-one support, or our workshop programme.

Working closely with schools and Childrens Services, you will make referrals to a range of professionals and community services, ensuring whole family needs are met and thereby reducing the impact of caring on the Young Carer.

As a CYP Coordinator, you will plan and deliver workshop sessions and respite activities, providing opportunities for Young Carers to spend time with their peers and recognise that they are not alone.

Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres 

Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit a Day Care Officer to cover  20 hours a week in shifts (4 x 5 hours) across our two Day Care Centres. 

There is a need to be flexible to be able to cover all days Monday to Friday and days are subject to change based on the rota. 

We are also looking to recruit a Day Care Officer on a 25 hour week for maternity cover on a fixed term contract starting on the 1st September 2025 for 39 weeks. 

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs. 

The successful candidates will: 

• Have shared responsibility in the team for the implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users 

• Act as a key worker for individual clients

• Deliver holistic and person centred wellbeing services which provide service users with social interaction and support to maintain their personal interests. 

Salary: Starting at SCP 4 £25,209.19 pa incl. London Weighting for 35 hpw - pro rata for part time which is £14,405.25 for 20 hours per week and £18,006.56 pa for a 25 hour week)

We’re looking for a Policy Officer who will make a difference to health and social care policy for people with arthritis.  

Within the Chief Executive’s Office, the UK Advocacy and Health Intelligence Department are focused on creating lasting change. We identify creative policy solutions in response to the challenges people with arthritis face. We influence decision-makers through stakeholder engagement, public affairs activity and by campaigning alongside people with arthritis. We have expertise across health and care services, public health, and employment policy. We also work in collaboration to influence medical research and data policy and play an active role in several cross-sector groups. 

About the role

The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.

This role will cover a broad range of issues across one of our strategic goals – prevention and diagnosis; access to treatment; and living well with arthritis. Our approach considers the needs of people of all ages who have arthritis.

The Policy Officer will also contribute to the wider work of the team, working closely with colleagues in the Nations Teams, the Research Directorate and the wider charity, including by representing us on cross-sector policy groups, drafting briefings, and participating in events and conferences.

Launched in the summer of 2019 on a 2,000-acre estate in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Wales, the Penpont Project is the largest intergenerational nature restoration project of its kind anywhere in the world. Initiated by Action for Conservation, the Penpont Estate, Tirmawr Farm, and a Youth Leadership Group of 12-18 year olds from diverse backgrounds, the project aims to restore nature and culture in this special place and demonstrate how youth leadership and ambition can advance nature’s recovery at a time of acute ecological crisis.

We are looking for a Learning & Engagement Coordinator to join our flagship Penpont Project, empowering young people and intergenerational communities to connect with, feel inspired by and take action for nature. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a unique and innovative project, maximising positive outcomes for young people and the environment. 

Key details

Start date: around 22 September, exact date to be agreed
Contract: Part-time, fixed-term for 12 months, with possibility to extend duration and/or increase working hours when additional funding is secured
Starting salary: £16,872.76 - £17,590.75 (equivalent to £28,121.27 - £29,317.92 FTE) depending on experience
Working hours: 21 hours / 3 days per week. This role requires evening and weekend work, including regular residential/overnight stays (6-10 times per year). Time off in lieu (TOIL) can be taken for overtime work.
Location: Penpont, Brecon (Wales). This role requires regular travel within the local region as well as some national travel for team events.

About the role

As Learning & Engagement Coordinator, you will support the successful delivery and ongoing development of our learning and engagement work as part of the Penpont Project, playing an active role in empowering young people and intergenerational communities to connect with, feel inspired by and take action for nature. You will proactively engage the Penpont Project’s Youth Leadership Group, school and youth groups, local community members and other stakeholders, and will help to design, organise and run a wide variety of events and activities for them to take part in. These will include both day visits and residential stays (including at our brand new Forest Camp site) as well as online sessions. You will also support our Youth Rangers programme and similar professional development opportunities. In doing so, you will play a vital role in strengthening our flagship intergenerational approach to nature restoration and maximising positive outcomes for young people and the planet. 

In your day-to-day, you will work closely with our  Penpont Learning & Engagement Manager as well as with our Land-based Projects and Policy Lead, Penpont Project Manager and Technical Lead and with our project partners, the Penpont Estate and Tirmawr Farm, to make sure our learning and engagement activities are aligned with wider project work and actions happening on the land.

To succeed in this role, you will be a highly organised, creative, flexible and self-motivated project coordinator who thrives in a varied and dynamic work environment. You will also be an inspiring communicator and skilled facilitator who can engage and build relationships with a wider range of stakeholders and communities, especially young people.

Key responsibilities:

• Engage young people and the wider community around Penpont to take part in our learning and engagement programme and wider activities on site.
• Facilitate the activity of the Penpont Youth Leadership Group during and outside of residential visits to Penpont and ensure young people are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence ot engage fully with the project.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of a bespoke learning programme for school/youth groups that inspires and empowers young people to connect with and act for nature and aligns with actions happening on the land.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of regular community action days at Penpont, engaging local community members and supporting them to undertake practical nature restoration work in line with the project's action plan.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of events bringing together intergenerational stakeholders to collectively design a future vision for people and nature at Penpont and the wider Upper Usk catchment area.
• Support the running of the Penpont Youth Rangers programme and help to oversee the Rangers' day-to-day activities.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities at Penpont to understand the impact of the project and facilitate learnings.

What we are looking for

• Experience of working with young people, ideally aged 12-18, with proven ability to engage, motivate and support young people from diverse backgrounds
• Strong environmental knowledge and practical skills
• Great facilitation skills with a track record of facilitating stimulating, interactive and inclusive group activities both in-person and online, including practical activities in an outdoor setting
• Experience of organising and running community and/or educational events from start to finish, including liaising with partners and participants, managing logistics, safeguarding and health and safety
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to plan ahead, work across multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
• A positive, proactive and self-reliant approach to work and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, partners, young people and other stakeholders
• Good IT skills
• Willingness to work outside of usual office hours and to travel regionally to meet the needs of the project
• A full clean driving licence valid in the UK
