About GMYF
GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.
GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. These Centres provide an ambitious and enriching curriculum for young people with a wide range of activities. We also jointly own an Outdoors Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. GMYF took on a management function for Norbrook Youth Centre, Wythenshaw from 1st May 2025, a previous affiliate member.

Youth Activites Lead - Main Purpose of the job
To lead day to day operations providing a ‘hands-on’ management role to play & youth workers, oversight of external providers delivering activities to young people at Norbrook. Leading and implementing an enriching youth work curriculum, quality assurance and health and safety standards, providing outstanding outcomes young people. Working with external partners and attending partnership meetings.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
1. Provide curriculum and quality assurance framework for youth work at Norbrook, providing a vibrant enriching offer for young people including youth voice and residential activities
2. Provide regular one-to-one support, coaching and appraisal of direct reports including Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
3. Support the centre self-evaluation process to inform GMYF Self Improvement Plan
4. Support the wider running of the charity though attendance at meetings and events
5. Complete small scale funding bids to enhance the centre youth offer
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure centres meet health and safety standards/regulations including daily site checks, kitchen hygiene, risk assessments, fire drills, accident, and complaints logs
2. Provide clear guidance to centre staff and user groups on safe and compliant systems to ensure a safe, fit for purpose centre
3. Oversee all off-site trips and visits ensuring they are risk assessed, supervised, staff are briefed and staff understand their roles and responsibilities
4. Ensure a record of young people, staff and visitors on site is maintained
5. Manage a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPE) ensuring centre remains compliant with current H&S requirements e.g. PAT testing, hygiene, shutters
6. Manage centre Assets Register
7. Hold responsibility for centres’ petty cash budget subject to approved limits
8. Line manage youth work team including Youthwork Lead
Curriculum/Safeguarding/Achievements:
1. To work with the Quality Assurance officer to plan and deliver an exciting and vibrant curriculum for children and young people, ensuring the needs of SEND are met
2. Maintain and update direct reports HR files
3. Approve and oversee the work of a range of support agencies to promote the well-being of children and young people e.g. Brook, Lifeline, NHS, Social Services
4. Lead and promote positive attitudes and high standards of performance for staff teams, using de-escalation skills to resolve issues in line with established policies
5. Set high standards for children and young people’s learning which support them to feel safe, ambitious, accepted and valued
6. Ensure recording of incidents, exclusions, interventions, actions taken on-site are managed in accordance with organisation policies and processes
7. Report and record safeguarding issues/concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
8. Manage the use of external visits and activities to ensure these are risk assessed, to budget and with set learning objectives
Professional and Personal Conduct:
1. Support and contribute to the overall aims of the charity carrying out all duties with full regard to the policies, procedures and high standards of GMYF
2. Ensure that personal conduct does not conflict with the professional expectations of the organisation
3. Promote positive images of the organisation to develop supportive and constructive relationships with children, young people, parents, external partners
4. Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the post as directed by the Operations Director.

DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace. The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.

Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. In just the last year, this campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools—supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.
Meanwhile, our All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. What you’ll be doing:
As a Training and Development Officer, you will be working directly with teachers and other education staff supporting their journeys in taking curriculum learning and play outside and to utilise their school grounds. You will deliver LtL’s training and projects within diverse communities across a significant geographical area. This role is part of our exciting new climate change education initiative. The Education Officer will enthuse young people and local communities about their local seas and amazing marine life through unique boat-based education experiences and innovative co-design education approaches.
Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is a marine conservation charity based on the Isle of Mull. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of HWDT’s new education project, Hebridean Marine Explorers - Connecting Scotland’s seas and communities.
The Education Officer will develop and deliver:

Educating young people on land and at sea is key to the role so we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, organised self-motivator, familiar working with schools and young people, with outstanding communication skills. Experience of marine mammal surveys and the ability to identify cetacean species in the Scottish waters is also essential to the role.
We are looking for somebody experienced in teaching and delivering environmental education activities and training for young people, ideally with knowledge of co-design project delivery and its implementation within a primary school environment.
Our ideal candidate will have experience coordinating a funded project and the skills to provide effective communication, evaluation, and reporting against project targets.
The ability to work with external partners, the wider team of HWDT staff and boat crew to deliver project outcomes and a genuine interest in cetaceans and marine conservation is essential. An understanding of the workings of a charity/NGO would be an advantage.
A valid medical fitness certificate (i.e. ML5 or ENG1) and PVG check is required for the role.

The School:
Merchant Taylors’ School is a large Independent Boys’ School, situated in 280 acres of parkland in Northwood, Middlesex. The School was founded in 1561, is owned by the Merchant Taylors’ Educational Trust and moved to its present site in 1933. There are four distinct boys’ day schools on campus. · Developing and innovating the school’s regular giving programme, the Merchant Taylors’ Fund, to ensure a consistent income stream and increased participation from alumni, parents and friends.

Purpose
To provide administrative support to the CBM UK Programme Development Department, especially to its Programme Funding team; enabling efficient management of stakeholder relationships and submission of quality proposals to institutional donors. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Programme Funding, the majority of the Programme Officer’s time will be spent supporting the Programme Funding team, which is part of the Programme Development (PD) Department.
Programme Funding, Programme Finance and Programme Management work very closely together as the PD Department, covering the whole Project Cycle including design, contracting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. o Real-time information management; clear filing, version control and communication
o Tracking progress against agreed actions; following up with reminders

• Lead on knowledge management for Programme Development (PD) Department including updating PD Handbook and maintaining MS Teams site.

This role is based at St. Edmund House, Bishop Crispian Way, Portsmouth, PO1 3QA. Offering a competitive salary of £40,000 - £48,000 depending on experience, working 37.5 hours per week. Role Purpose
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies to support the Diocese’s mission. This includes stewarding major campaigns, securing grant funding, promoting digital and online giving, implementing a CRM system, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and fostering local fundraising initiatives in parishes.
This role will support the financial sustainability of the Diocese, enabling parishes and the wider faith community to serve their people effectively, while ensuring alignment with Catholic teaching and values.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising Strategy and Campaigns
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet agreed financial targets.
- Oversee and manage significant fundraising campaigns, ensuring their effective delivery and long-term sustainability.
- Work closely with the Finance Department to align fundraising efforts with financial objectives, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Identify and secure grant funding opportunities, including the preparation of high-quality applications and maintaining relationships with funders.
- Support parishes in designing and delivering local stewardship campaigns, ensuring consistency in messaging and impact.
- Procure and implement an appropriate CRM system, working with key stakeholders to ensure effective donor management and fundraising efficiency.
2. Digital and Online Giving
- Support parishes in growing regular and ad hoc online donations by:
- Developing and promoting digital giving solutions across parishes, including training and implementation support.
- Expanding online giving platforms to improve accessibility and donor engagement.
3. Donor Relationships and Stewardship
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key donors, including major benefactors, grant funders, and parish-level supporters.
- Implement donor stewardship strategies to retain and grow the donor base through regular communication, engagement opportunities, and recognition initiatives.
- Foster a culture of stewardship across the Diocese communicating the difference it makes.
- Provide regular updates and high-quality reports, driven by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), on fundraising performance and initiatives.
- Report on fundraising outcomes to senior management and the Board of Trustees, ensuring alignment with the Diocese’s mission and strategic priorities.
4. Parish Support and Capacity Building
- Equip parishes with tools, training, guidance, and hands-on support to run successful local fundraising initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops and support sessions for parish fundraising committees, helping them develop sustainable funding strategies.
- Support the promotion and coordination of Second Collections across the Diocese for key causes, ensuring that parishes are well-equipped with:
- Clear guidance on collection dates and processes.
- Good-quality promotional materials (posters, leaflets, digital assets) to help communicate the impact of these collections.
- Regular updates on fundraising results to encourage participation and engagement.
5. Compliance, Policy Development, and Governance
- Develop and implement fundraising policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Stay up to date with fundraising laws and best practices, ensuring all activities meet Charity Commission, GDPR, and financial regulations.
- Ensure that data protection regulations are upheld in all fundraising activities, particularly regarding donor records and CRM management.
6. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure that fundraising messages align with Diocesan values and the Mission Plan.
- Share compelling impact stories to inspire and encourage giving across the Diocese.
7. Meeting Attendance and Reporting
- Attend meetings of the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee, providing updates on fundraising activities and seeking necessary approvals.
- Participate in parish meetings across the Diocese as required, offering fundraising guidance and support.
- Maintain a professional approach to both in-person and online meetings.
8. Ad Hoc Duties
- Carry out additional duties as requested by the line manager, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to emerging needs.
Fundraising Manager - Person Specification
Competence, Expertise and Knowledge:
Essential
- Degree level education
- Proven track record of delivering significant fundraising results in the charity sector, with demonstrable experience of achieving and exceeding financial targets.
- Experience and aptitude for detailed project planning and record keeping.
- Strong commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
- Experience in grant writing and securing substantial funding.
- Numerate, with outstanding writing and presentation skills.
- Strong influencing skills, capable of working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrable experience in building and sustaining relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Competent in use of Microsoft office and CRM platforms.
Desirable
- Formal degree level qualification relevant to sector
- Familiarity with digital giving platforms and tools.
- Experience in training and capacity-building initiatives.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., Chartered Institute of Fundraising).
