Role Summary
We are looking for a Prospect Development Officer to join our highly successful prospect development team, working in partnership with our fundraising team to manage their prospect pools and portfolios. You will provide insight and advice on donors, trusts, foundations, corporations, and other organizations, collating and reviewing data and writing concise and informative reports for the fundraising team and senior stakeholders within the University. You will proactively identify new prospects, ensuring that biographical information is accurate and up to date. Covering the Hywel Dda or the Cwm Taf University Health Board this is an important and meaningful advice role in the cancer community for an experienced Welfare Benefits Caseworker. Managing a fully triaged caseload of welfare benefits clients across your specific area when it comes to cancer you’ll put your existing expert welfare benefits knowledge to good use, so your clients receive their full benefits and entitlements.
Your work is mainly done over the phone but may also be in person or digitally where you’ll be delivering a casework management and advice service for people with a cancer diagnosis and providing all the necessary support.
You’ll receive your referrals through your colleagues delivering the first contact element of the service. These referrals will contain full details of the advice needs ready for you to action the next steps. Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of local events across North West England, ensuring each event is well-organised, inclusive, and engaging for local communities. The Local Event Coordinator will collaborate closely with partners, local authorities, suppliers, volunteers, and members to deliver high-quality, unique and memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage logistics for a variety of local member events, making sure all events are accessible and attractive to both existing and potential members.
- Liaise with relevant external and internal contacts such as venues, suppliers, CSSC’s ticketing platform, Head Office departments, and volunteers.

The Role
The service provides accessible, culturally competent mental health support to diverse communities through a range of brief interventions and therapeutic modalities.

The Role
You will provide low intensity interventions that will help patients to manage their own recovery. Sessions will be delivered both on a one-to-one and group basis, coaching and motivating through multiple sessions, setting goals and agreeing action planning to support effective outcomes. You will work closely with other support organisations including South Locality partners comprising of Counsellors and other mental health professionals, Community Mental Health Teams, Primary Care partners and wider health and wellbeing services.
You will be required to effectively manage a caseload of patients and maintain accurate and concise records and ensure effective onward referral processes are in place and utilised.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct patient-centred interviews to identify areas where patients wish to see change and agree action plan and steps in conjunction with patients
- Make accurate assessments of the risk patients pose to themselves and others and on the suitability of new referrals
- Support referral partners to make appropriate referrals to the service
- Devise a shared treatment plan with your patient
- Provide low-intensity interventions
- Provide both group and one to one support to patients
- Liaise with partners across the service to ensure the right type and level of support is provided to patients
- Develop strong professional relationships with wider mental health services, Primary Care and external support services

About You
As a Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will have a Coaching/Counselling qualification gained through a PCI accredited organisation (or be willing to work towards) (H&WB Coach 4 day training) and a Mental Health based qualification e.g. NVQ Level 2 or above. You will have experience of supporting patients with low level mental health issues and conditions.
You will also have experience of:
- Using coaching approaches and techniques or other supportive strategies (e.g., Motivational Interviewing)
- Providing one to one and group support based on patient need
- Managing a caseload of patients, prioritising in accordance with need and support required
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working alongside internal and external agencies to provide comprehensive support
- Development of shared treatment plans in coproduction with patients
- Planning and prioritising own workload
- Accurate record keeping in relation to patient records, referrals and outcomes

Our senior team has an exceptional skill set, and we recognise that candidates with all the skills we need simply may not exist. But don’t worry, if you have some of the skills we want but lack others – we will train you to fill those gaps. This will include thorough training in the delivery of our well-respected training courses.
Our staff have the choice to work wholly or partly from home or from our office in Tooting, SW London, during regular operational hours (08:30–17:30). If working from home, staff must have a working environment suitable for holding video-call meetings/training sessions with clients.
Wherever you work, you will interact regularly with senior team members to gain new skills and exchange ideas.
This role requires regular business travel and overnight stays to deliver training courses (mostly in the UK, estimated 2 to 8 days per month). Most in-person training is delivered across the South of England and the Midlands (typically within around 2 hours’ travel of London).
