The Woodland Trust is looking for a Personal Assistant to support the Executive Director of Nature Recovery in their strategic and operational leadership role at the Trust.

The Role: 

• Manage the Director’s day-to-day activity, including diary management, forward planning, travel, daily updates and ad hoc requests.
• Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, triage actions, maintain records and update Trust systems, including the CRM.
• Act as the main departmental point of contact, liaising with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Prepare expense claims and maintain corporate credit card records using Business World.
• Monitor and report on departmental budgets with the Director and Management Accountant, supporting forecasting and annual budgeting.
• Support SLT recruitment, induction, onboarding and ongoing administration.
• Assist the Director in delegating and tracking SLT actions and priorities.
• Coordinate SLT meetings, agendas and papers; take minutes as required.
• Manage internal briefing processes for the Director, CEO, ELT and Chair.
• Coordinate ELT and Board papers, track actions and ensure governance deadlines are met.
• Organise SLT development activities, site visits and departmental meetings.
• Maintain and improve departmental systems, processes and ways of working.
• Support learning, wellbeing and a positive SLT culture in partnership with the People team.
• Collaborate with the wider PA team, sharing best practice and providing cover.
• Build effective internal and external relationships to support departmental objectives.
• This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once a month on average.

You will navigate interventions of high political sensitivity, tackling systemic issues such as the defence of protest rights, the protection of marginalised communities, and the pushback against state overreach. What we're looking for

• Campaigning & Journalism: Experience as a strategic advocate or campaigner, with a track record of identifying cases that highlight consumer detriment
• Thematic Expertise: Experience navigating the political and legal sensitivities of campaigns related to Reform action, protest rights, Palestine and challenging the rise of the far right
• Project Management: Experience managing multi-faceted projects, ideally coordinating between different specialisms (e.g., legal, tech, and comms)
• Digital Mobilisation: Experience helping to develop and implement digital campaign strategies that have raised income, grown lists, or secured change
• Political & Economic Awareness: A keen understanding of the political landscape, particularly focused on party politics, protest and civil rights

Key Details

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Campaigns Manager build a mass movement, maintain a network of supporters and combine audience insights to achieve our goal of action for trees and woods.

The Role:
•    Develop campaign plans and strategies that translate policy objectives into clear advocacy actions ensuring it’s gone through the agreed processes to mitigate reputational risk.
•    Lead the campaigns project team and provide support where needed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a professional telephone manner to join us as Tele-Fundraising Intern. You will help promote Shelter and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in standing up to the housing emergency.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for supporters seeking information about Shelter’s work, so will need excellent communication and administrative skills, a real interest in housing issues, as well as an understanding of how the Outbound Supporter Services Team impacts supporter retention. Your day to day work will include calling supporters to welcome them to the organisation and thank them for choosing to support us, undertaking quality control surveys and ensuring supporter data is accurate.

You will promote Shelter, raise awareness of housing and homelessness issues and enhance our ability to retain our supporters. You will respond to enquiries about Shelter’s work and action supporter requests. You will maintain accurate supporter records and liaise with other departments to ensure changes are actioned, as well as handling complaints about services and fundraising activity.

There will be on the job training, support and supervision and you will have access to Shelter’s Employee Assistance Programme. We can also offer flexible hours, with some office working.

About you

The role is open to anyone who has have lived experience of disadvantage, such as homelessness, housing issues, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health, money and debt issues or other disadvantages. You will have good customer service skills, are able to communicate effectively on the telephone and have good attention to detail, with the ability to capture data accurately. You also have an understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff. There will be an initial induction period that will run Monday to Friday 9am-5pm for a 4 week period. After successfully completing your induction, you will move to your fixed rota hours.

We are seeking a full-time Project Manager to support delivery of our new programme, Reading Reboot, funded by the Charlotte Aitken Trust, and to support the SLA to grow its reach and impact. Reading Reboot is being developed to address the reading crisis and restore a love of reading for young people in Year 8, in communities facing the greatest disadvantage. This is an opportunity to lead a flagship national programme with the potential to shape future investment in school libraries, in a supportive, mission-driven team culture within a small but influential charity. 

The Reading Reboot programme will establish librarian-led social book clubs in over 100 under-funded secondary school libraries across the UK and reach more than 6,000 young people directly, alongside librarians, senior leaders and wider school communities. Reading Reboot places school librarians at the heart of delivery, combining new book stock, inspiring author engagement, appealing library spaces, and a robust evaluation to evidence impact and inform future national roll-out.   

The Project Manager will lead on development and delivery, working closely with the CEO, a Project Board and external evaluation team to ensure the programme meets its objectives on time, within budget and to a high quality. They will recruit and coordinate schools and librarians, work with partners and funders, and ensure that learning and impact are captured and shared across the sector. Building strong relationships with all stakeholders, the Project Manager will be the main point of contact for the programme and will support the CEO and Project Board with timely updates, papers and participation in meetings. Successful candidates will have extensive and demonstrable experience of project management in schools or youth settings. Experience of training development and delivery will be an advantage.

What this role entails?

The post holder will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gifts prospects. They will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors able to support projects in the Medical Sciences Division at Oxford, typically in the range of £100,000-£500,000 over time, alongside to supporting the fundraising activity of the Head of Development – Medical Sciences.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven fundraising experience in a complex organisation and direct involvement in securing major gifts at the £50,000 level and above
• Ability to identify new donor prospects and engage with potential donors to successfully acquire new gifts
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically about the relations between potential donors and fund-raising goals
• Ability to establish credibility, confidence and robust relationships with existing and prospective donors, and key stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An interest in the medical sciences
• An interest in higher education and ideally an understanding of the University of Oxford, and its goals in teaching and research

About the Role

We’re looking for a Dual Diagnosis Worker with expertise in mental health and substance use to join our team in Croydon. Based in a residential service, you’ll support residents with mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you’ll use your specialist knowledge to help both residents and the wider team overcome personal challenges. 

You’ll use evidence-based approaches to support recovery, independence, and integration through holistic assessments. As a comorbidity specialist, you’ll guide the team in achieving positive outcomes for residents. Your main duties include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning.

We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have practical experience and relevant qualifications, and be skilled in engaging reluctant individuals. You must be resilient, proactive, and a strong problem solver to build the trusting relationships essential for this role.

About the Role

You will:

Effectively manage and provide a pro-active, high quality frontline service to male victims of domestic abuse. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of MARAC and multi-agency partners when required. This role requires a specialist understanding of the barriers faced by male victims of domestic abuse and harmful practices. We particularly welcome applicants who are male, as they are under-represented in the provision of support to domestic abuse victim survivors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage and develop a high quality, innovative and pro-active domestic abuse service for victims and their children, including those at highest risk
• Ensure that the service prioritises the safety, security and dignity of service users and their children
• Be the lead in crisis situations and provide advice and guidance on safeguarding issues and information sharing concerns.
• The role will work collaboratively with the Management team, in order to achieve the implementation of the business plan and the development of the service to maximise positive outcomes for clients.
• Manage a small team, conducting supervision and case reviews to ensure safe practice.
• Carry a caseload, supporting male domestic abuse victim/survivors to increase their safety.
• Develop relationships with partner agencies in this area.

About You:
Ideally, you will have knowledge of migration and asylum routes and the procedures for applying for refugee/asylum status in the UK, legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience of working with housing, homelessness, drug, alcohol, mental health issues and have an understanding of the benefit system.

You will need:

• Experience of supporting people in vulnerable situations, having worked with victims of domestic violence & abuse.
• Knowledge of safeguarding issues, legal responsibilities and GDPR & data protection regulations.

You will represent issues facing some of the most marginalised and vulnerable communities. This might include people who face sexual or criminal exploitation, people experiencing mental health problems or people who face discrimination in the response they receive from statutory services when they seek help in relation to the issue of missing, amongst others. This will sometimes include engaging with and challenging professionals in organisations and systems that exist with embedded discrimination.
