Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Senior Quantitative Policy and Research Officer to join our Policy and Research team based in London.
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 15,000 young people each year.
The Policy and Research team at Centrepoint provides the evidence base for the organisation’s policy and influencing work, using research, data and the experiences of young people to understand the causes and scale of youth homelessness and identify effective solutions. The team leads research across a range of policy areas, produces Centrepoint’s Youth Homelessness Databank, analyses national and local data, and translates findings into clear policy recommendations. It also supports external influencing, engaging with Government, Parliament, local authorities and other organisations to ensure evidence is used to shape policy and improve outcomes for young people.
Hybrid Working
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.

It may come as a surprise, but only 22% of our funding comes from the government. End-of-life care is an essential service, not a luxury, yet it is not funded like other care services. This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.
This senior role requires flexibility in working hours and location. It is primarily offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham, Buckinghamshire, office each week. This role involves managing a caseload of individuals requiring early intervention and preventative mental health support, providing person-centred guidance that enables them to achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing. You will deliver engaging group activities and programmes, clearly explain the service model and support pathways, and empower service users to confidently access community resources and work effectively with professionals such as mental health teams, social workers, housing providers, healthcare services and Job Centre Plus. Working collaboratively as part of a flexible team, you will help develop co-produced activities, peer support networks and community-based opportunities, while actively monitoring the wellbeing, safety and security of service users. The role also includes contributing to the day-to-day running of the service, supporting colleagues, meeting contractual obligations and using initiative to respond to emerging needs and priorities.

Advance delivers nationally accredited, high quality domestic abuse services across London. Advance's domestic abuse services are community based and include local authority commissioned advocacy services, co-located projects in a range of settings such as housing and children’s social care, and specialist projects for victim/survivors with different intersecting needs including children and young people.
As a Peripatetic Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA), you will provide front line support across Advance’s domestic abuse services, covering vacancies across teams to ensure service delivery remains effective and consistent. You will cover a range of roles all involving advocacy and support of people experiencing domestic abuse; some roles may also involve co-locating with partner agencies, delivering training or undertaking triage and assessment work. Your office location and pattern of work will change depending on your placement however all roles offer the opportunity for some hybrid working.
This role is an excellent opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and experience in a range of settings and would suit someone who is passionate about advocating for victim/survivors of domestic abuse. You will thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy the diversity of working across a range of roles within different teams. An excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children is essential, alongside some past experience working directly with victim/survivors of domestic abuse.
About You
To be successful as the Peripatetic IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:
Youwill have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge of safeguarding and legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.
