About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a People Advisor to join our fast-paced, supportive HR team at the Crick. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced People Advisor to join our friendly People Partnering team to provide maternity cover.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers, lead allocated ER casework, and will work on a selection of people projects. Working collaboratively with a team of Advisors, you will also have an opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of People processes and policies. 

This is a role that delivers first-line support to all employees and managers across the Crick. A visible and influential position, requiring confidence, independent judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and relationship-building. It will suit an individual able to navigate a dynamic environment and comfortable working with a level of ambiguity.

What you will be doing

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Trusted Advisor to Group Leaders and Operational Heads and managers, supporting with all people issues
• Provide expert HR advice on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, working with minimal supervision and high autonomy
• Lead on the full range of employee relations cases of varied complexity, including investigations, hearings and appeals, ensuring best practice and consistency
• Support managers with restructures and redundancy processes with the ability to deliver the end-to-end process
• Work in partnership with managers to proactively identifying people challenges and propose appropriate solutions in line with Crick values
• Design and deliver management training

About you

You will have: 

• Good level of experience at HR Advisor level, with evidence of working independently on  employee relations issues *
• Strong influencing and coaching skills, with the ability and confidence to challenge constructively and build trust at all levels *
• Excellent judgment and ability to balance risk and pragmatism in HR decisions *
• A track record of leading or significantly contributing to HR projects or organisational change initiatives
• Strong analytical skills with experience translating people data into actionable insights
• Proven ability to build positive workplace relationship across all stakeholder groups *

Founded in 2018, Let’s Talk About Loss supports young adults aged 18–35 who are bereaved, creating safe, supportive spaces to talk openly about grief. We are a small, values-led charity with a national reach, built on the power of community, peer support and shared experience.

This role has been created as maternity cover and will play a crucial part in delivering Year 1 of our new 2026–2029 strategy. Purpose of Job 

To deliver a high-quality service to and facilitate opportunities for individuals with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families/carers through Shine membership.To empower and enable members living with the conditions to lead healthy and happy lives through greater independence, better condition management and by creating links to the Shine community across England. 

SHINE has over 15,000 members with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. This post will bring a real focus to the Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk area and will be an exciting opportunity to engage with members and develop and deliver the services we offer. 

We work with members of all ages from our Little Stars aged between 0 – 12, young people are members of our FIRE project and we have established adult support. Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

The role is home based but you will be required to attend clinic at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge on the first Friday of every month. You may also be required to cover other clinics, events in London and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area of Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk and occasionally across wider areas and nationally including meetings at our head office in Peterborough.

Overview

Involve Community Services is a local infrastructure charity that supports the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sectors of Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough. We offer development and governance support, funding advice, grant writing, volunteer and trustee recruitment, and a comprehensive training programme. We also run several well-being projects that include Community Navigation, Cancer Support and Social Prescribing within Wokingham Borough.

Role summary

The Community Development Worker will work across Wokingham Borough to assist small charities, community groups and social enterprises who have a health and well-being focus, as well as those organisations who aid residents with protected characteristics. They will assist organisations to find solutions to existing challenges and overcome barriers to optimise their delivery, e.g., through sourcing volunteers, committee members, funding opportunities, forming simple governance structures, and seeking premises.

The post holder will advocate for members of the community with protected characteristics as well as those whose voices are seldom heard, and act as a voice for marginalised groups, to aid inclusive decision making and delivery of services across the borough. The postholder will develop a broad, informed view of the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector and will communicate this to colleagues within Involve, the wider Friendship Alliance (a collective of charities who have a shared interest in addressing loneliness and social isolation), and to statutory partners. The postholder will also identify gaps in provision and help to develop or enhance existing partnerships so to optimise their impact to residents. 

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly attend community events throughout Wokingham Borough

About the role

Community Services at The Passage are delivered from our Resource Centre in Victoria, which provides a single, accessible entry point for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Resource Centre acts as a central hub, enabling people to be assessed once and supported to access the most appropriate accommodation, services or onward referrals based on their individual needs. 

People are supported by skilled client facing staff who work with them to understand their circumstances and identify the right pathway of support. Alongside assessment and casework, the Resource Centre provides immediate welfare services to help meet urgent needs and stabilise people at times of crisis. 

Following assessment, Community Services deliver a range of specialist and preventative interventions, including rapid rehousing for those at imminent risk of homelessness, advice and advocacy, employment and skills support, housing-related casework delivered in partnership with the local authority, and assertive engagement for people less able to access services independently. The overall aim is to prevent homelessness wherever possible and to support people to move quickly into safe, stable accommodation.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Service Development 

• Lead delivery of The Passage’s 3-year strategy as it relates to Community Services, ensuring services are preventative, trauma-informed, and outcomes-focused. 
• Develop, implement and monitor an annual Community Services business plan, reporting to the Quality & Services Committee and Board as required. 
• Provide strategic leadership for No Night Out, ensuring it continues to deliver rapid, effective interventions aligned to Westminster’s homelessness strategy and wider system reform. 
• The post holder will be responsible for embedding equality, diversity and inclusion across Community Services, ensuring services are accessible, inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of people we support, and that inclusive practice is reflected in service delivery, staff development and partnership working. 
• Identify, develop and lead new service opportunities, including bid development and commissioner engagement for Community Services. 
• Lead planning and operational delivery for Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) and other system-wide responses.

Safeguarding, Risk and Community Impact

• Act as Safeguarding Lead for Community Services, ensuring robust policies, training, escalation pathways and safe practice across all services. 
• Maintain oversight of risk management, incident reporting, and health & safety compliance within Community Services. 
• Lead locality management across services, including proactive management of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and community impact in a dense residential environment.

Primary Services and Resource Centre Operations

• Hold strategic and operational responsibility for Primary Services, including the catering function within the Resource Centre.

• Work closely with Fundraising to support corporate volunteering and “Kitchen Takeover” initiatives, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery that enhances supporter engagement while protecting service users and staff.

Financial Management and Funding Stewardship

• Set and manage realistic budgets and forecasts across Community Services, working closely with Finance and Fundraising. 
• Oversee multiple funding streams, including large trusts, grant-giving bodies and commissioned services, ensuring full compliance with funding conditions and reporting requirements. 
• Support managers to understand and deliver against budgetary and income-related targets. 
• Contribute to the development of funding proposals and service models that align with organisational strategy and funder priorities. 

Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact

• Strengthen monitoring, evaluation and learning across Community Services, supporting teams to evidence impact and improve practice. 
• Analyse service data (e.g. In-Form) to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.

Grandmentors is our award-winning, inter-generational mentoring project running in almost 20 locations across the UK.We recruit, train and support Volunteer Mentors (normally people aged 50+) who are matched 1:1 with young people (aged 16-26) facing a range of life challenges and barriers. In the role of Housing Led Worker you will work as part of a team to oversee the day-to-day delivery of the service. Managing a caseload of around 15-20 clients you will:

• Provide personalised, flexible support that helps clients access the right services for their mental and physical health, substance use, community engagement, learning, training, and employment.
• Deliver intensive, ongoing support to help clients establish their home, sustain their tenancy, and work towards their personal goals and aspirations.
• Work in partnership with clients, using a creative and strengths-based approach to help people manage tenancy, build independence, and rebuild their lives in the community.

• Proven track record of meeting fundraising or sales targets and securing financial support from corporates.
• Excellent networking and communication skills — confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
• A good understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and how businesses can partner with charities.
• Demonstrate financial acumen to effectively manage budgets, track fundraising progress and evaluate the impact of corporate partnerships
• Strong organisational and presentation skills, with a proactive and resilient approach.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel across Worcestershire
