The Head of Grants will take a leading role in shaping The Childhood Trust’s grant-making approach. This is both a strategic and practical role - the postholder will manage the full cycle for our existing grant-making (Big Give) campaign and oversee a small team. Working closely with the Director of Programmes and Impact, Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team and Board, they will use evidence, learning and sector insight to help design and deliver the next phase of The Childhood Trust’s grant-making programme. This is a role for someone who can work independently, take ownership and make things happen.
The postholder will also use their experience and sector knowledge to recommend and implement new ways of supporting the sector through our new capacity building programme (Thrive Together), ensuring that The Childhood Trust’s grant-making is both innovative and impactful. They will contribute to the development of our youth voice work and ensure that the voices of children and young people are embedded across all aspects of grant-making.

We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) with a particular focus on pulmonary hypertension (PH) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. About the role
We are seeking a Marketing & Events Officer to help the charity achieve its mission by growing its international profile, driving membership, increasing engagement and income through delivering great marketing, webinars and event communications.
PVRI's events are delivered collaboratively across the charity, and this role acts as the key coordination point for event communications, delegate engagement and webinar delivery. No two days are the same. One day, you might be writing content for our website, emails, newsletters, or social media channels, and the next, you might be welcoming respected speakers and attendees to one of our international scientific webinars.
A key part of the role is supporting marketing and comms for our face-to-face events and working with the team to provide on-site support. These include our annual global scientific congress (often held towards the end of January in a different city around the world) and our biennial symposia (which usually take place in June, usually in the USA or Europe).

The OUT Side OUT Spoken Navigator supports male survivors and survivor allies as they prepare to leave prison or another secure setting and rebuild their lives in the community. The role provides intensive, trauma-informed support shaped around each person’s individual circumstances, including completing risk and needs assessments and developing a tailored support plan. You’ll help people navigate challenges around housing, healthcare, benefits, employment and community connections, working closely with prison, probation, health, social care and other partner agencies. The aim is to reduce barriers; strengthen stability and ensure people continue to feel supported throughout the transition from custody into the community.
About You
You’ll have experience of providing one-to-one support or advocacy to people with complex needs and be comfortable working with trauma, risk and the challenges that can accompany release from custody. Experience within criminal justice, mental health, housing, social care or community services would be particularly helpful, as would an understanding of sexual harms affecting boys and men. You’ll be able to build trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries, manage competing priorities and work confidently with a range of partner agencies. Pay: M1 (£36,642 - £40,356 a year based on 44.6 weeks per year which is term time, plus one week for insets and holiday pay. This is split over 12 monthly payments).
The trust is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme that contributes 17.8% as employer pension contributions.

Forest House Education Centre (FHEC) is a hospital school for 13-17-year-old pupils, attached to the Forest House Adolescent Unit, a Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient facility on the Kingsley Green hospital site. The Centre provides education for the patients occupying the Adolescent Unit's sixteen beds, while additionally being the sole educator for eight 'day pupils' who are referred by Hertfordshire County Council through ESMA (the LA's tutorial service for pupils who are out of mainstream education for medical reasons).
The Service Manager at Forest House Education Centre will work closely with Trust leaders to effectively manage the day to day provision of the service.
The candidate’s key role will include liaising with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration between ESMA, Forest House Adolescent Unit, base schools, pupils and their families and professionals involved in the care and education of our pupils; to ensure the best outcomes for all those at FHEC; attend multi-agency meetings as necessary and work in conjunction with the Trust staff to ensure that all aspects of the SLA (service level agreement) are met.
The candidate will have experience of dealing with pupils with Mental Health issues and have excellent communication skills. Interested parties must have a diplomatic, tactful and creative approach to team working.
