The Role

What will I be doing? 

The role oversees: 

• Creation and management of Data governance frameworks 

• Creation and management of Data quality controls and lifecycle management 

• In collaboration with a data warehouse management partner, to design and implement Data ingestion, modelling, warehousing and reporting, using a data discovery audit carried out in 2025

• Vendor delivery and technical oversight 

• Organisation‑wide data literacy and cultural change 

• This includes managing risks; ensuring GDPR and security controls are applied, and enabling teams across all directorates to make informed, data‑driven decisions

Projects you work on may include: 

• Delivery and optimisation of the outsourced data warehouse, including Snowflake architecture and Azure hosting

• Implementation of data ingestion pipelines with a data warehouse partner using tools such Fivetran and transformation workflows using Medallion and Kimball principles

• Establishment of the organisation‑wide data governance model, including catalogues, lineage, role‑based access controls and quality metrics

• Supporting directorates with reporting needs using Power BI and improving data consistency

• Through the use of training partners; upskilling staff and embedding a sustainable data‑driven culture through training and champions

Who will I work with? 

• The outsourced data warehouse supplier team (data engineers, architects, analysts) 

• Internal stakeholders across all five IOP Directorates to support consistent data governance and quality

• IT colleagues including the IT Manager, Infrastructure Engineer, Salesforce Product Manager, AV Technician, and Application Change & Risk Manager

• Project Managers and governance leads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, compliance, and risk standards

Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if your skills include: 

Essential Criteria 

• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data modelling (Kimball), and Medallion architecture 

• Demonstrable experience managing vendors delivering hosted or managed data warehouse solutions

• Ability to establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, data catalogues and security models

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non‑technical stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

 Nice to have 

• Experience with Snowflake, Azure, Fivetran (or similar), Power BI, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code

• Familiarity with GDPR and data security standards

• Certification in Data Governance (e.g., DAMA) or evidence of continued professional development

• Experience embedding culture change or delivering organisation‑wide training 

• Understanding of IOP’s mission and the importance of physics for public benefit

 Key responsibilities of the Senior Fundraising Manager?

Strategic Leadership & Income Generation

• Follow the fundraising strategy, developing and executing annual plans to achieve revenue targets and diversify income streams.
• Oversee the growth of Individual Giving, Regular Giving, and In Memory Giving, and Community Fundraising initiatives.
• Design and implement targeted fundraising campaigns, leveraging insights and KPIs to maximise donor engagement and income.
• Promote fundraising opportunities across community networks, digital channels, individual giving portals, and public platforms.

2. Team Leadership & Management

• Manage and inspire a team of fundraising professionals, ensuring objectives, 1:1s, and appraisals are delivered in line with HR policy.
• Develop clear annual training, time management, and support plans for staff and volunteers.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to ensure high performance, accountability, and a collaborative working culture.

3. Volunteer Programme Oversight

• Oversee the ongoing development of the Hospice volunteer programme alongside the Volunteer Executive, ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention.
• Work directly with clinical teams to align volunteer support with operational needs, guaranteeing smooth running of hospice activities.
• Ensure all volunteers receive regular feedback and adhere to health and safety requirements.
• Maintain and develop the programme in line with Investing in Volunteers standards.

4. Donor Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

• Cultivate, steward, and strengthen long-term relationships with key donors, sponsors, community partners, and supporters.
• Support the delivery of fundraising events such as community fairs, and photography competitions, attracting large public support. Support the team during gala dinners and garden parties. Oversee the Events Executive in all areas of their role.
• Enhance the Hospice’s visibility and supporter engagement through partnership building and community presence.

5. Data, Finance & Compliance

• Ensure all donor and volunteer records are held and maintained under GDPR and internal data protection regulations.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a permanent Finance Manager to join our busy finance team, working 30-37 hours per week, minimum 30 hours, ideally over a minimum of 4 days, starting salary £31,634 per annum (pro rata).

As Finance Manager, you will:-

· Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the finance team, including supervision, workload coordination, ongoing  staff development and continuous improvement of processes and procedures.

· Act as the main link between the Finance Director and the Finance Team, translating strategic direction into clear, effective delivery.

· Lead month-end processes including the preparation of accurate management accounts, maintaining strong balance sheet control and exercising sound judgement on complex financial issues.

· Oversee income, credit control, cashflow, short-term forecasting and the administration of the finance system, ensuring data integrity, high-quality management information and appropriate escalation of risks or pressures.

· Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.

· Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support financial understanding, compliance and the effective resolution of issues.

· Act as the first point of escalation for operational finance issues, escalating to the Finance Director as appropriate.

About You

We need you to bring:

·AAT Level 4 Qualification or significant equivalent finance experience, with responsibility for management accounts, reconciliations and income monitoring.

· Experience coordinating month-end processes and working across multiple income streams, contracts or funding arrangements.

· Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgement, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and identify financial and organisational risk and escalate issues appropriately.

· Experience supervising or supporting others within a finance setting, with a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to continuous improvement.

· Confidence using financial systems and Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level, alongside a methodical, organised approach to prioritising work.

· A clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to the values of The Advocacy People.

The following attributes are also desirable:-

· Experience working in the voluntary or charitable sector, including knowledge of SORP accounting, year-end accounts and liaison with auditors.

· Experience working with local authority contracts or complex funding environments.

This is an exciting role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The government has just published a UK wide cross-government child poverty strategy, and made some historic commitments to reduce child poverty including scrapping the two-child limit and expanding free school meals in England. However, there is more to do, and this is a great time to join CPAG as we look to monitor the impact of these changes and influence policy makers and parliamentarians to ensure child poverty is high up the agenda.

We are looking for someone with a track record of communicating complex policy areas in an accessible manner to a range of non-specialist audiences. You will have knowledge of parliamentary processes and the different advocacy levers that can be used to influence change. You will enjoy working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions, working closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as externally.

In addition, in a senior policy officer we are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing CPAG’s policy and research programme, including leading the delivery of research projects, helping to shape our press and campaigns work, and contributing to the development of future projects including fundraising.

You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues.

The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, sharing analysis and expertise as part of the DWP’s review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of the green paper on the changes to disability benefits.

 Financial oversight, planning, and reporting

Review all financial transactions related to the ADB project on a monthly basis and ensure that they are correct including cost recovery, co-financing, bank balances, and coding.

Ensure the ADB project is up to date in the Grant Management Tracker, Co-financing Tracker and Cost Recovery forecast.

Prepare financial information for internal reporting, including contributions to quarterly CEO reports, monthly dashboards, and co-finance updates.

Prepare all ADB project donor financial reports and ensure consistency with internal data.

Prepare and submit other donor financial reports as required.
•
Monitor project and portfolio spending, flagging significant under & overspends in a timely manner to the Programme Finance Manager and Programmes & Partnerships team.

 Financial controls, compliance, and audit

Lead financial planning and monitoring for the ADB project, ensuring alignment with ADB compliance requirements and AKF(UK) internal controls.

Support the design and implementation of quality controls, manuals, checklists, and tools to ensure compliance with donor requirements (ADB and others).
•
Oversee compliance with donor and AKF(UK) rules on procurement, accounting, and project expenditure, supported by reporting, engagement with the field, and spot checks.

Maintain internal tools (including AIMS) to track active ADB grants as well as other grants, ensuring data on secured funding, cost recovery, and cash balances remains up to date.

Prepare for and support donor and statutory audits, with particular responsibility for the ADB project while also contributing to audits of other grants.

Maintain an up-to-date audit and disallowance tracker for the ADB project, while supporting the Programme Finance Manager in tracking audit issues across all grants.

Troubleshoot donor compliance or procurement queries, with emphasis on ADB but extending to other donor portfolios where needed.

Act as a resource person for ADB donor compliance within AKF(UK), while sharing knowledge and lessons learned more widely across the grants portfolio.

Support wider Programme Finance team capacity-building efforts, drawing on insights from ADB donor requirements and practices.

Grant financial management

In close consultation with the programmes & partnerships team:

Maintain accurate financial records and grant codes for the ADB project, while supporting the set-up and management of other grants as needed.
Ensure timely submission of cash requests and sub-grant agreements, in compliance with both ADB and AKF(UK) standards, and support the same across the wider portfolio.

Review budgets for ADB and other donor concepts/proposals, ensuring inclusion of AKF(UK) costs, compliance with donor requirements, and consistency with narratives.

Support the in-country project management unit (PMU) to ensure that the project is robustly managed and proactively support the resolution of challenges as they arise.

Provide training and reference materials for implementing partners and field staff on ADB-specific donor regulations, procurement, and reporting, while contributing to broader finance training across the organisation.

Provide technical support and guidance to implementing partners and country units, with particular focus on ADB compliance but also assisting with other donor requirements as needed.

Conduct monitoring visits and spot checks on the ADB project and participate in risk monitoring across the wider portfolio.

Collaborate with the assigned Senior Partnerships Manager to align financial management with programme delivery.
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations.
The role will involve travel to countries in which we operate grants, particularly Afghanistan (security situation dependent). Normally this could be 1-2 trips per year.

Qualifications

CCAB qualified accountant (desirable).
5.2 Experience

3 years relevant experience in financial accounting and financial reporting

Experience of designing and managing effective administrative systems and procedures

Experience of managing finances for large-scale, complex donor-funded projects. Experience of working with multilateral development banks (ADB, World Bank, AfDB, etc.) is highly desirable.

Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management

Experience working in international organisations or donor agencies, including field-level implementation, is highly desirable.

We are a small, dynamic charity delivering community-led projects and initiatives that seek to both empower and improve the lives of family carers living across Wales.

The Finance and Governance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day financial management, governance support, and administrative oversight of the charity. This role ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial data, effective management of budgets, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for finance and audit. Additionally, the postholder provides key governance support, facilitating the smooth running of the Board of Trustees, maintaining company records, staff records, and ensuring HR policies are reviewed and adhered to.

This position is crucial for maintaining the charity’s operational integrity and supports strategic decision-making by providing robust financial insight and governance expertise.

The role will also play a key role in identifying/sourcing funding for enabling sustainability, by working alongside the Director in drafting proposals/bids.

The post will also work closely with the Project and Engagement Coordinator and Policy & Impact Officer to help support the successful delivery of our projects through budget management and supporting the production of evidence of impact reports.

This is an integral role within the organisation that brings together key organisational, financial and people skills to enable us to continue to make a meaningful impact for families across Wales.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking two experienced Policy Managers to join our Health Policy team to provide maternity cover. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in shaping national child health policy and influencing decision-makers across England and the wider UK.

Reporting to the Head of Health Policy, you will work with College Officers, policy committees, experts and external stakeholders to identify, analyse and deliver a wide range of child health policy projects and activities. You will lead policy development using research, evidence and horizon scanning to inform outputs and support the College’s influencing work.

These are high-visibility roles covering priority areas including prevention, child health inequalities, child protection and children’s rights. You will be recognised as a subject expert in your policy area(s) and will work collaboratively across the organisation and externally to maximise impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development of evidence-based policy to influence the child health agenda in England, working with devolved nations colleagues on UK-wide issues
• Horizon scanning and monitoring emerging developments in child health policy to inform strategy and planning
• Producing consultation responses, briefings, analysis and policy reports
• Delivering policy projects using strong project management, matrix working and time-bound working groups
• Building and managing relationships with stakeholders across government, academia, charities, professional bodies and the health sector
• Representing the College externally at meetings, events, conferences and policy forums
• Supporting policy committees and College Officers through expert advice, briefings and coordination of workplans
• Managing and developing a direct report (Health Policy Assistant / Projects Officer)

Essential skills and experience include:

• Relevant professional experience or graduate-level qualification in policy or a related field
• Extensive experience in policy development and influencing, with recent policy outputs
• Strong experience analysing research, evidence, data and health service information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to varied audiences
• Proven stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior level
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including risk and resource management
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across a dispersed team

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Transition Specialist (Finance) to help drive WWF-UK’s work influencing the finance sector to integrate climate and nature into business decision-making. Sitting at the intersection of conservation, policy and finance, this role plays a critical part in shaping how financial institutions respond to the climate and nature crisis.

You will lead WWF-UK’s direct engagement with financial institutions, providing insight, advice and challenge to support more sustainable financial practices. Working across teams and with external partners, you’ll help build a clear strategy for engaging the finance sector, strengthen WWF-UK’s influence, and ensure we remain at the forefront of developments in sustainable finance.

This is a strategic and analytical role, combining deep financial sector expertise with strong relationship-building skills. You’ll help interpret transition plans, identify opportunities for change and support financial institutions to take meaningful action that benefits people, climate and nature.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:

Essential

• Significant experience and understanding of the finance sector, ideally gained within a financial institution or closely aligned environment.

• Strong expertise in sustainable finance, including climate and or nature-related risks, opportunities and transition planning.

• Knowledge of key frameworks and standards such as Science Based Targets initiative, Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), ICMA Green Bond Principles or similar.

• Excellent analytical capability, including financial analysis or modelling, with the ability to interpret complex transition plans and financial information.

• Experience influencing external stakeholders and building credible relationships across complex systems.

• Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate and understand the wider financial ecosystem.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical insight into clear and compelling messages.

• Ability to work collaboratively within matrixed teams while also operating independently and managing priorities effectively.

• A clear commitment to environmental issues and WWF-UK’s values.

Desirable

• Experience structuring or advising on sustainable debt instruments such as green, transition or sustainability-linked finance.

• Experience working across international contexts or with global stakeholders.

• Understanding of climate and sustainable finance policy relevant to the UK and global finance sector.

About the role:

This Best Companies Top 50 mid-sized company and Top 10 Charity is looking to appoint a Accounts Payable Executive. The Accounts Payable Executive will be responsible for providing an efficient and accurate administrative support to the Finance Team within Rainbow Trust. The role is integral to the smooth running of the Finance department, with responsibility for providing a comprehensive and efficient service. The Finance team provides financial control and ensures the effective processing and delivery of management data to inform constructive decision making and future planning by the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, The Accounts Payable Executive will be Responsible for the end-to-end processing of the account payable function and supplier management. As well as supporting the processing of staff expenses and credit cards to meet payroll deadlines and assist with payroll changes on an ad-hoc basis. Maintaining e-mail inboxes efficiently and friendly communication with staff and suppliers is key to this role.

What we’re looking for:

• Competent in processing financial data – Applications will be particularly welcome from those who have experience of working in a finance or HR department, processing supplier invoices, using Sage 50, or processing payroll changes
• A co-operative and helpful working style – you are able to work well with others, and offer a responsive and friendly service to all stakeholders
• Attention to detail and consistent – you have excellent attention to detail, even with repetitive work, producing accurate work whilst following, established guidelines, policies and procedures.
• A proactive approach – you will be a self-starter who thrives on prioritising work to meet month-end deadlines and use your initiative to add value to the team
• Confident use of MS Office and experience of using a finance accounting system – you are comfortable working with data, and produce high quality accurate work
