The Trust of St Benedict’s Abbey, Ealing, wishes to appoint a Safeguarding professional as a permanent position to continuously ensure that Ealing Abbey and its works are comprehensively assured to be safe environments for all.

The post is to be the Safeguarding lead responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding across all activities of Ealing Abbey. It is to promote an effective culture of safeguarding that protects the health and wellbeing of everyone who comes into contact with the Abbey, ensuring they can live free from harm and abuse. It is to support victim survivors, helping to bring their voices to the forefront in all our safeguarding work.

The role is to assist the Safeguarding Trustee, providing strategic leadership, policy oversight, governance, and cultural development in safeguarding. It is to ensure compliance with national legislation and the “One Church” Approach of the Catholic Church of England and Wales articulated through the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA) within the safeguarding framework of the Abbey charitable trust.

This part-time role allows for flexible working hours appropriate for fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in the job description. There is the possibility for hybrid working.

Salary of between £40-48k FTE depending on experience.

The Job 

The Open SU delivers a dedicated student advice service called the Individual Representation Service. We are seeking a Student Advisor to provide one-to-one support for students navigating a range of university processes, including Central Disciplinary Hearings, Academic Misconduct investigations, Complaints, and Appeals. This is a 12-month role with the potential for extension, subject to demonstrating continued need. 

In this role, you will: 

• Provide high quality advice and information across a broad range of academic matters, including academic appeals, academic misconduct, complaints, disciplinary processes, extenuating circumstances, and fitness to practice issues. 

• Represent individual students at formal and informal University meetings 

• Accurately record student queries and maintain clear, up to date case records. 

• Manage a case load and deliver timely advice through a range of channels. 

• Build and maintain effective relationships with university departments, external stakeholders, and other relevant bodies. 

• Develop your expertise in university regulations, processes, and operations, applying this knowledge confidently and accurately to individual cases while working collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure students receive the support they need. 

• Identifying policy issues/trends and communicating these to the Student Advice Manager.

As Helpline Care Navigator (HCN), you will act as the first point of contact for individuals, families and health professionals across the North and North East region.

You will deliver compassionate, person-centred support and clear, practical information via telephone and email, ensuring people affected by PSP & CBD feel heard, informed and supported at every stage of their journey. Alongside direct support, you will actively engage with health and social care professionals, neurology clinics and wider partners to strengthen local awareness of PSP & CBD and enhance referral pathways across the region.

This is a key role in maintaining continuity, quality and momentum within our Helpline service during a period of maternity leave and you will be reporting to the Helpline and Support Services Manager.

Hours of Work & Annual Leave

Key Responsibilities

• To be ‘first point of call’ for people with PSP & CBD and their families living in North and Northeast region including, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear & Northumberland. Providing people with support and information over the phone and via email.
• To raise awareness of PSP & CBD across all health and social care disciplines in the region by engaging with HSCP’s and neurology clinics.
• To provide accurate information in all aspects of PSP & CBD in response to enquiries and signpost onto other organisations where appropriate.
• Ensure a maximum response to all helpline calls, emails and enquires.
• To keep clear and accurate records and statistics of enquires received and actions taken.
• To carry out a maximum number of proactive calls to people affected by PSP & CBD within the region as directed by the Helpline Manager.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.  

As a RISE Advisor working on our RISE programme you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery and the development of the service. The service provides a range of trauma-informed and person-centred one to one and group support to victims and those who have harmed aged 15 and above. We provided focused support to those impacted by Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role will be on a 12 month contract and can be based in Devon, Wiltshire or Gloucestershire. It may include evening and weekend work when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and assess service users to consider their suitability for the RISE Service.

About the Role

The Energy Debt Specialist will provide a high-quality inbound telephone debt advice service to clients as part of our brand new Consumer Energy Debt Advice project. This project is for clients who have energy debt (amongst others) and is intended to reduce the impact of personal debt by providing them with debt solutions.

For a trainee post, this role would suit applicants with:

• At least 6 months' experience of delivering excellent customer service in a regulated environment such as banking, insurance, or a contact centre.
• Experience of achieving performance and quality targets/KPIs.
• An ability to work independently without close supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Experience of listening and questioning with an ability to manage challenging situations.
• Commitment to training and achieving full targets and quality requirements within a 3-month period.

1. To be appointed as an Energy Debt Specialist, you will need to have knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, covering priority and non-priority debt advice, options, and insolvency solutions.

We are looking for a Prevention and Intervention Programme Manager to line manage the Advisors (Sexual Violence Liaison Officers) and be responsible for an SVLO programme to support students who have experienced sexual violence, sexual harassment, gender-based violence and/or domestic abuse at any point in their lives. The Programme Manager will need to work closely with the Advice Service Manager to support the Specialist Advisors in working alongside the generalist advice provision. The Programme Manager will oversee the Active Bystander Programme as well as the expansion of new and existing programmes, including developing personalised packages for departments and an attractive offer for external partner organisations. 

Have you got demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced one or more of the following: sexual violence, harassment, gender-based violence or domestic abuse? Have you got an understanding of the impact of sexual violence and sexual harassment on survivors, and how to support them with a trauma informed approach? Our ideal candidate will continue to develop and embed the trauma-informed Consent and Tackling Sexual Misconduct strand to enhance and grow the Active Bystander Programme. Our General Advice Team covers a range of different projects, in this role the Trussel Trust Foodbank Advisor will give advice face-to-face within in foodbank outreach locations and CAL offices across Liverpool. The post holder will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible, delivering generalist level advice and information with the ability to travel across locations in Liverpool.

Wilder Ecology is the ecological consultancy of Suffolk Wildlife Trust. It provides specialist ecology services through a team of expert ecologists, with work focused on ecology, wildlife conservation & Biodiversity Net Gain. The consultancy delivers professional advice & survey services to high ecological & professional standards, working in accordance with CIEEM guidance and the Biodiversity Code of Practice for Planning and Development, and is also ISO-certified.

As part of Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Wilder Ecology combines commercial ecological consultancy with a strong conservation purpose. It is a member of The Wildlife Trust Consultancies network, which brings together consultancy teams affiliated with local Wildlife Trusts to share expertise, training & knowledge and to collaborate on larger projects. All profits generated by Wilder Ecology are passed back to Suffolk Wildlife Trust, helping to support the Trust’s wider work to protect & restore nature across Suffolk.

This is a permanent position working 20 hours per week (days and hours to be discussed at interview). The base of work will be Brooke House and the starting salary will be between £13,847.70 and 14,847.70 per annum (FTE £27,839.44) depending on skills, knowledge and experience.
