We are looking for a committed Christian with a heart for serving older people and who can contribute their skills and experience to the smooth running of our residential care home for older people in Leicester.
We need a friendly and organised administrator who can be relied upon to work with enthusiasm and efficiency within a busy office environment.
The Evington Home is about three miles from Leicester city centre and offers residential care, as well as providing dementia care. The Evington Home has 30 rooms, the majority of which have either garden or park views. See our beautiful home here.
You will be:
- A helpful and warm first point of contact for the home;
- Welcoming towards visitors, suppliers, staff and residents;
- A 'people person' who is keen to build and nurture strong professional relationships;
- Somebody who is positive, approachable, willing to help and caring towards others a team player;
- Someone who enjoys working with older people and has empathy with them;
- Outgoing and friendly with strong customer service skills;
- A good role model and provide a dynamic reception service;
- Skilled in typing, filing and recordkeeping;
- Computer literate in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Comfortable dealing with matters relating to Payroll;
- Quick to provide general administrative assistance to the Managers;
- Eager to interact with the staff and volunteers in the home and the London Office, and support them in administrative tasks;
- Committed to supporting and cultivating the work of volunteers within the home;
- Organised, adaptable and reliable under pressure;
- Proactive when faced with tight deadlines;
- Enthusiastic about Pilgrims' Friend Society and the great Christian work taking place.

Hours:
25 hours a week Monday to Friday 9am-2pm

This strategically important role will provide global leadership for advocacy across the Open Doors ministry, helping local and regional teams to shape advocacy priorities, strengthen alignment across international teams, and ensure the experiences and voices of the most persecuted Christians continue to inform decisions at every level of our organisation.
The role also oversees Global Integrated Campaigns and plays a key role in strengthening Open Doors’ voice and influence amongst external partners, institutions, governments and decision-makers. Purpose of the Position
The Global Advocacy Director is a strategic leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and responsible for providing direction, alignment and influence for advocacy across the Open Doors organisation. Working closely with field regions, fundraising bases and international leaders, the Director ensures that advocacy priorities remain connected to the needs of persecuted Christians and contribute to the wider mission and strategy of Open Doors.

Sitting on our Senior Management Team, you'll help shape how GARAS delivers its services, making sure the advice we offer stays true to what we stand for as an organisation.
We're a medium-sized, ambitious charity, and this role would suit someone who thrives on responsibility and wants to see their leadership make a tangible difference to people's lives. You will line manage all members of the Adult Advice Team, so sound judgement, resilience and genuine warmth in your management style will be essential.
This role is based on-site at GARAS premises and will require an Enhanced DBS check.
