Harris Hill is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a Lawyer (UK Financial Sector Focus) on behalf of the Commonwealth Climate and Law Initiative (CCLI). CCLI is a UK charity working at the intersection of law, finance and sustainability, with a global reputation for producing rigorous legal analysis that helps clarify how existing legal frameworks apply to climate and nature-related financial risks. This newly created role will play a key part in shaping CCLI’s expanding programme of work on investor fiduciary duties across the UK financial sector.

This post is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding. The role can be fully remote or hybrid, with access to a London co-working space, and will involve occasional travel.

The postholder will lead the development and delivery of CCLI’s UK investor fiduciary workstream, initially focusing on the insurance, pensions and banking sectors. This will involve scoping and commissioning authoritative legal analysis from leading commercial law firms and academics, translating complex legal findings into practical guidance for boards, trustees and their advisers, and tracking relevant regulatory and disclosure developments across the financial services landscape. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including institutional investors, regulators, professional bodies, and the legal community, as well as representing CCLI at conferences, roundtables and other external forums. Working closely with the Executive Director within a small and collaborative team, the successful candidate will also contribute to communications, strategic development and fundraising activity.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with strong expertise in financial services law, ideally in insurance, banking, or pensions. Candidates should be able to demonstrate clear engagement with climate change or environmental sustainability, whether through their professional work, research, writing, pro bono activity, or other initiatives that connect legal practice with climate- and nature-related financial risks. To be successful, you need to bring a deep understanding of how financial institutions are structured and regulated, alongside a demonstrable commitment to addressing climate and nature-related financial risks through legal and governance frameworks. You will be a confident communicator, confident and effective in public speaking, with the ability to represent the organisation at conferences, roundtables and stakeholder events, and to communicate complex legal ideas clearly to diverse audiences. This role would suit a self-starter who is comfortable working with a high degree of ownership in a small, purpose-driven organisation and who is motivated by the opportunity to apply their legal expertise to drive meaningful change.

Job purpose

We are seeking a collaborative and experienced Project Manager with an applied understanding of quality improvement and evidence-based methodologies. This is a hands-on role for a team-player who combines project management with direct delivery. Our programme portfolio spans contextualised care, national audits, registries, antimicrobial stewardship and sustainability.

You will play a crucial role in delivering this portfolio, coordinating partners, ensuring high-quality outputs and supporting the development of new resources, research and sector-facing activities. You will provide team management whilst ensuring the smooth running of complex workstreams, from planning through to evaluation.

Key responsibilities

Integration & Improvement

• Contribute to the development of and delivery of processes and shared frameworks and a joined-up approach across key RCVS Knowledge initiatives relating to improving quality.
• Support implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL/MEAL) mechanisms to assess programme outcomes.
• Manage procurement, negotiation, and delivery of work with external partners and contractors.
• Explore innovative approaches to income generation and contribute to funding applications that align with our charitable purpose.

2. Project Management & Delivery

• Manage planning, coordination, and delivery of assigned projects, including Contextualised Care, auditing and registries (National Neutering Audit, and Canine Cruciate Registry), Quality Improvement, antimicrobial stewardship, One Health and sustainability.
• Develop, manage and maintain project documentation, including project initiation documents, project plans, schedules, risk and issue log and resource plans, to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.
• Manage day-to-day operations of project delivery, working with internal and external contributors, technical suppliers, and partners.
• Ensure projects are delivered within scope, time, and quality expectations, escalating challenges appropriately.

3. Research & Evidence

• Support study design, data interpretation and analysis to ensure the quality and credibility of outputs and ensure methodologies are robust, evidence-based and aligned with project needs
• Lead the preparation of reports and summaries
• Support the clinical lead on stakeholder resources, literature searches (and other evidence gathering), ethical approval, peer-reviewed publications, and research quality and integrity assurance processes.

4. Stakeholder & Partnership Support

• Coordinate engagement with veterinary professionals, practices, researchers, and sector partners.
• Support advisory groups, steering groups, and collaborative networks.
• Work with the communications and marketing team to draft communications, updates, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences.

5. Line Management

• Provide line management to project officer(s), and support to other team members as appropriate.
• Promote a supportive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.

6. Organisational Contribution

• Work closely with the head of department on programme development, impact tracking, and strategic alignment.
• Prepare reporting for governance committees, senior leadership, and external partners.
• Contribute to cross-functional working groups and organisational projects.
• Support fundraising activities, including stakeholder management, planning approaches, building organisational knowledge, drafting sections of grant applications or supporting evidence for external bids.

• Proven experience in project management managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

As the Impact and Fundraising Manager, you will work hands on with our delivery team to design data collection systems that feel manageable and purposeful, not burdensome. This commission covers the Development Phase of a Heritage Fund-supported capital project and the period during which the Delivery Phase application is being assessed. The Fundraiser will collaborate closely with the client team, project manager and stakeholders throughout.

The redevelopment of Benton End seeks to:  

• Conserve and restore the Grade II* listed house and associated gardens structures  
• Create inclusive and accessible facilities for learning, exhibitions, and residencies  
• Respect and celebrate the site’s layered heritage, including its significance in queer history  
• Embed sustainability and environmental responsibility in all design choices  
• Enable operational and financial sustainability through a mixed-use business model

The fundraising consultant will be responsible for raising a total of £2.7m by December 2027. This comprises £1.8m in gifts or pledges in order to match-fund The National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Delivery Phase grant of £2.65m; and the remainder to support additional output costs at Benton End.

The consultant will be expected to lead on the following areas:

• Review the Fundraising process for the Development Phase of the project in partnership with the client team
• Review the existing Fundraising Strategy submitted to the Heritage Fund (see tender pack)
• Re-develop, update and deliver a comprehensive Fundraising Strategy to achieve the necessary match funding for the Delivery Phase of the project including phased targets, pipeline planning, and approach methodology
• Identify potential funding sources, including charitable trusts and foundations, major individual donors, philanthropic legacy leads (including those with interests in art, horticulture, LGBTQIA+ causes, and regional heritage), corporate supporters and in-kind contributors
• Cross check all potential funding sources and potential prospects with the client team, paying particular attention to the Garden Museum’s other fundraising programmes, existing funders and live/upcoming campaigns
• Produce a detailed fundraising plan with goals, milestones, specific targets and details of which funding sources will be approached at each stage of the campaign
• Support cultivation of key prospects, including advising on pitches, proposals, and relationship management and leading these where appropriate
• Develop a 'Case for Support' and campaign materials tailored to different audiences
• Work with the client team to ensure fundraising aligns with Heritage Fund Delivery Phase submission (August 2027), Activity and Interpretation Plans and capital delivery timelines and cash flow needs
• Provide reports on all fundraising activity and data collected, in formats that are compatible with the client team’s CRM
• Support the implementation of the live campaign: tracking targets, overseeing donor communications, and managing asks

The selected consultant should have:

• A strong track record of raising capital funds in the arts, culture, or heritage sector
• Experience working with national funders (e.g. trusts/foundations, High Net Worth Individuals, and corporates)
• Knowledge of Heritage Fund processes and expectations
• Experience in creating compelling cases for support, particularly for multidisciplinary projects (art, heritage, gardens, LGBTQIA+ history)
• Sensitivity to inclusive fundraising and community engagement
• Strategic thinking with a collaborative and proactive working style

The budget for the fundraising consultant's fee is a maximum of £36,000 excl VAT, to include all travel and expenses and with an expectation that the consultant will be on site regularly at Benton End, Hadleigh, Suffolk.

This consultant will report into the Project Manager, but will also work very closely with the Garden Museum Development Director and the Benton End Board.

Executive and Leadership Support

· Proactively manage the CEDO’s diary, inbox, and scheduling, anticipating priorities and easing pressure on senior leadership time.

· Take ownership of key development communications and organisational materials, including contributions to the Annual Report, donor publications such as Rhodes Scholar Magazine, rotating website features related to donors, etc.

Governance, Meetings and Project Support

· Coordinate governance and committee processes end-to-end including agenda planning, paper preparation, accurate minute taking and tracking actions to completion.

· Support the planning and delivery of team meetings, retreats, and key events.

· Provide project coordination support for strategic initiatives led by the CEDO and the Engagement and Development team.

Purpose of the role

To deliver the Day One Casework bedside model to patients, or those closest to them, impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences, such as disability or death, within Leeds General Infirmary Hospital, providing support on some of the wards (such as rehabilitation), on-site clinics and other settings (e.g. rehabilitation centres). 

Have a visible physical presence within the Trust, becoming embedded into clinical teams focussing on major trauma pathways, facilitating outpatient and in-person legal clinics.

Key Responsibilites

The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows: 

• Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by serious and life-changing injury. 

• Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support. 

• Provide consistency in assessment of all patients and their loved ones, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery. 

• Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day One’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. 

• Contributing towards report writing through the writing case studies and narrative to support data collection. 

• Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports. 

• Deliver awareness raising presentations to clinical colleagues and departments. 

• Organise and facilitate outpatient and in person legal clinic drop-in sessions. 

• Build awareness of the role and charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support. 

• Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy.

Overview 

Resolve Poverty are excited to be working in partnership with Save the Children UK to recruit a South Yorkshire Child Poverty Partnership Officer that will improve outcomes for children and young people living in poverty across South Yorkshire. This new role will mobilise the development of a regional Child Poverty Action Plan, working closely with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and work with complex systems and multiple partners.

Drawing on Resolve Poverty’s expertise in developing strategic local responses to poverty and the work of the Dream Big South Yorkshire: Children & Families Commission, the postholder will be passionate about using this pilot phase to establish the necessary mechanism for a sustainable long-term approach to addressing child poverty across the region.

Background 

The South Yorkshire Child Poverty Coalitionis being established as a collaborative advisory board, co-chaired by key partners and supported by stakeholders including VCSFE infrastructure organisations, policy academics, strategic leads, and national experts. Its mission is to develop and deliver a comprehensive South Yorkshire Child Poverty Action Plan that tackles the root causes of child poverty and leverages opportunities for change at regional, local, and community levels. 

Central to this work is the South Yorkshire Children and Families Commission, a regional body made up of Community Commissioners and Civic Commissioners who blend lived and learned experience to embed the reality of poverty’s impact across our communities. Their voices will shape priorities, decisions, and direction throughout the strategy period, ensuring that the Coalition’s work is grounded in the experiences of those most affected. This role will also ensure that this work aligns with SYMCA’s ambitions to develop a youth engagement strategy.

The Coalition will also play a pivotal role in aligning the Action Plan with the proposed Child Lens Investment Fund. This pioneering approach to child-lens investing—intentionally directing investment decisions based on their potential impact for children and families—offers South Yorkshire the opportunity to maximise social investment to improve outcomes for children and families living in poverty, while strengthening the local economy through funding for businesses, social enterprises, and charities. 

Role Purpose 

The South Yorkshire Child Poverty Partnership Officer will work closely with SYMCA to provide strategic leadership, coordination, and  development of the Child Poverty Action Plan. The role will initially sit within the Violence Reduction Unit as part of an embedded placement, building capacity within the unit to ensure that the Action Plan reflects the work of the unit to embed lived experience, youth voice and preventative approaches to address exploitation and vulnerability. The role will ensure that the Coalition’s work is embedded within wider regional strategies, aligned with local and national frameworks, and driven by lived experience and robust data.

• Lead the Coalition: Convene partners, provide strategic leadership, oversee progress, and manage projects to ensure effective delivery. 

• Build capacity: Strengthen organisational capacity within SYMCA to embed the Child Poverty Action Plan within regional strategies, working closely with the four local authorities.
