The Barrie Wells Trust is a children’s charity dedicated to creating extraordinary experiences and unforgettable memories for seriously ill and disabled children and their families.
The Trust has achieved an outstanding record of impact throughout the UK since its launch in 2008, with its work made possible through the vision and personal commitment of its Executive Chairman, Barrie Wells MBE. Historically, Barrie has managed and personally funded 100% of the Trust’s operational activities.

WHO WE ARE
We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night's sleep, and the chance to thrive at school.
In our eight years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 18,000 bed bundles to children to date!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Zarach is well established in West Yorkshire and Doncaster. We are now continuing to grow across the Yorkshire region, with a launch in Hull, Bridlington and Goole in October. We are looking to recruit a Family Engagement Officer to join our dedicated Yorkshire team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in the growth and development of our vital service as we expand into the East Riding.
As our ideal candidate you will be happy to travel in and around Hull and the East Riding. You will be able to travel regularly to meet with the team and conduct home visits across the region. You will also need to be able to attend our Leeds Warehouse, or other areas in Yorkshire when required. You will be confident to work autonomously in your area while being supported remotely by a wider regional team.
You will be someone who has good experience of the broad range of day-to-day case management, working with external partners, volunteer support, and administrative activities that working in a dynamic charity brings, and someone who enjoys the busyness and variety of this. While not essential, as training will be provided, experience working alongside schools will help you hit the ground running as you build relationships and support local families.
Alongside your family support and engagement-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with vulnerable families and managing volunteers in the charity sector, due to some of the specialties that come with this, such as safeguarding and partnership working. But charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Starting at £26,000 with progression up to £30,000 p/a
- Full time hours (35 hours per week)
- 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
- Healthcare Cash Plan
- Quarterly Staff Recognition Award
- A great working environment! One of our colleagues described us as- “Zarach is a wonderful place to work with the mission at the core of all that we do”
To decide if you’d like to bring your skills and experience to bear in the pursuit of our mission, please have a look at the job description, our website and the coverage of us across social media.
Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications. Therefore, we encourage you to submit your CV and cover letter as soon as possible.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Job Title:Key Relationships Manager
Salary:£46,000 per annum
Location:Hybrid: London Office and Home
Hours of work:Full-time (35 hours per week)
Reporting to:Head of Key Relationships
Premier, the UK’s largest Christian media agency, is seeking a Key Relationships Manager who shares our passion for helping people encounter God through media and experience renewal.
Behind Premier’s ministry are generous supporters who make this work possible. Through thoughtful conversations, careful listening and a compelling invitation to give, you could help people connect their generosity with a mission close to their hearts — bringing the Gospel, encouragement and hope into everyday lives.
Role Overview:
You will build meaningful relationships with existing and prospective supporters, helping them discover how their giving can support Premier’s mission. Working with senior colleagues, you will guide relationships from first introduction through to a thoughtful invitation to give and ongoing care.
Alongside warmth and conviction, you will need persistence, disciplined follow-through and the confidence to ask for significant financial support when relationships are ready — potentially including gifts of up to seven figures. You do not need to have made asks at this level before, but you must be willing to learn.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Building lasting partnerships: Develop and care for a portfolio of supporters, securing major gifts and multi-year commitments towards your annual six-figure target.
- Opening new conversations: Research and approach potential supporters, including senior individuals in the City’s corporate community, and create proposals that connect their giving aspirations with Premier’s mission.
- Representing Premier: Communicate our mission at donor meetings and events, involving senior colleagues where appropriate.
- Following through with care: Maintain accurate records, timely follow-up and monthly reporting, treating supporters with respect and following the Code of Fundraising Practice.
We are looking for someone with:
- A living Christian faith and a heart for the Gospel: A faith you can articulate clearly, commitment to Premier’s mission and a good understanding of the Christian community.
- A gift for relationships: Proven ability to build new professional connections and nurture trust, including with senior or influential people, through empathy, listening, tact and discretion.
- Purposeful communication: Excellent writing, presentation and conversational skills, with the confidence to represent Premier and a willingness to learn to ask directly for significant support.
- Initiative and accountability: Proven success against targets, resourcefulness in identifying opportunities, sound analytical judgement and a commitment to both personal responsibility and teamwork.
- Organisation and a learning mindset: Careful administration and follow-through, confident IT skills and the ability to learn new systems; degree-level education or equivalent knowledge and ability gained through professional experience.
Ideally, you will understand the principles of the major donor journey, but previous experience managing major donors or securing large gifts is not essential.
We are particularly interested in your commitment to Premier’s mission and your ability to build trust and turn conversations into lasting relationships. You might bring these strengths from account management, sales, fundraising or another relationship-focused role. We can help you develop the specialist fundraising skills – if you have empathy, initiative, sound judgement and a willingness to learn, this could be your next role!
Location and availability: This is a primarily London-based role. You must live within daily commutable distance of the City of London and be able to attend London meetings and donor visits at least two days each week, with attendance at Premier’s London office as required. Additional travel and occasional evening and weekend work are also required.
Please note that Premier is a Christian media agency and this role has a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to have a personal Christian faith.
