About the Candidate
We are looking to recruit two exceptional candidates to the role of Alumni Engagement Assistant. This vital role will be the first point of contact for alumni, as well as having responsibility for alumni communications, engaging alumni with volunteering, and assisting with events.
The role would suit a highly creative individual with the ability to write compelling copy for external audiences, build strong relationships with a diverse range of individuals internal and external to the organisation, and with good initiative and problem-solving skills. You will bring relevant work experience or volunteering experience, which may be from the Higher Education or Not for Profit sector, or from a communications or customer service role.

About the Role
This is a dynamic and rewarding role at the heart of the Fundraising Team, where you’ll help generate over £1.4 million each year to keep the Youth Zone running. You’ll lead on writing compelling bids and funding proposals that unlock both unrestricted income and targeted project support – from mental health to employability to sports and creative programmes.
You’ll have access to a wealth of impact data, real stories, and a ready-made case for support – and you’ll be encouraged to bring your creativity, energy and ambition to every application. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead on identifying, writing, and submitting high-quality funding applications to trusts, foundations, and statutory funders, securing both unrestricted income and project-specific funding aligned with strategic priorities
- Develop compelling proposals that articulate the impact of the Youth Zone’s work, leveraging live data, case studies, and feedback from youth workers to bring applications to life
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure funding needs are clearly understood and prioritised, maintaining regular communication with delivery leads to shape project bids that reflect current and emerging needs
- Build and manage relationships with funders, developing stewardship plans that include timely reporting, in-person or virtual engagement, and opportunities for funder visits to the Youth Zone
- Act as a passionate advocate for the Youth Zone, representing the charity at networking events, funder meetings, and promotional visits, and supporting the wider fundraising team on campaigns and events when needed.
About You
You will have experience of:
- Writing successful funding applications or proposals, ideally in the voluntary or public sector, securing four- and five-figure gifts from trusts, foundations, or statutory sources
- Managing a fundraising pipeline or prospect list, from initial research through to application and stewardship, using a CRM system such as Salesforce to track progress and outcomes
- Collaborating across teams, particularly with delivery, finance, or impact colleagues, to gather information and develop compelling bids grounded in real-world delivery
- Producing high-quality donor reports, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations through clear narrative, data, and case studies

As the Supporter Engagement & Legacy Manager you will play a key role as we seek to reignite our legacy marketing programme and grow overall individual giving income to help ensure long-term support for those facing financial difficulty. You will be responsible for the project management and implementation of all supporter engagement activity, acquisition, and legacy marketing activities, ensuring all activity is optimised and campaigns include enhanced digital and social media content.
Reporting to the Co-Heads of Supporter Engagement and managing the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will develop a multi-year plan to rebuild legacy income and a pipeline of legacy supporters, including re-engaging the EFH care home staff and major donors.
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, operational plans and effective management of Turn2us’s giving programmes from individuals including appeals, regular giving and legacies, maximising net income from new and existing income streams.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment as well as proven ability to manage successful legacy marketing campaigns. They will have significant experience stewarding individuals and legacy supporters and be adept at communicating the impact of donations, as well as having line management experience. The ability to make a strong case for supporting Turn2us’ key areas of work is crucial, as is an aptitude for proactively increasing acquisition and retention rates.
The post holder will also be a self-starter who is comfortable building new strategies from a relatively small pool of supporters and is experienced testing different tactics to establish the best practice for Turn2us.

The Candidate
A creative, hands on fundraiser, happy to lead the startegic and donor facing aspects of high value fundirasing.
A demonstrable track record of securing significant gifts from a range of trusts and foundations.
An ability to write and submit a regular stream of applications.
Experience of researching and writing high-quality, well-structured and persuasive communication materials, and delivering convincing verbal presentations to a variety of stakeholders.
Experience in working with major donors/high net worth individuals, ideally of setting up an income stream to support high net worth giving.
An understanding of funders needs, and how to meet these needs through thorough and relevant research, and creating compelling applications for support.

We are now seeking an accomplished fundraising leader to join our high-performing Development and Alumni Engagement team, and design and lead our philanthropic strategy for Social Sciences. About you
You will be an experienced major gifts fundraiser and manager, who brings a collaborative and relationship-based approach to ensure success in your endeavours. Your experience, authenticity and curiosity about the world around you, enables you to establish credibility quickly and gain the confidence of the stakeholders you work with. As a divisional team leader and member of the major giving leadership team, you will inspire a motivated and committed Social Sciences development team as well as engage and collaborate with other fundraising leaders across the collegiate network, to identify and leverage all opportunities that will enable the University to achieve its strategic ambitions. It will therefore be important that you:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and working closing with the CEO, COO, Executive team and members of our Board and Development Advisory Board, the Executive Director, Development will shape and drive a roadmap for this next stage of our philanthropic activity. Working as part of the Executive Team, you will exemplify the highest standard of professional integrity and represent the Foundation to senior stakeholders both internally and externally. With the support of a dedicated team and expertise of your peers, you will devise, implement and oversee an ambitious philanthropy strategy, underpinned by the appropriate fundraising policies, procedures and records including due diligence; raise the capital required to meet the Foundation’s fundraising targets; maintain detailed and up to date projections; own donor/prospect relationships; and communicate effectively to these stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will therefore be an experienced and entrepreneurial fundraising leader, who is equally adept at building significant philanthropic relationships as you are in meeting the operational requirements of an organisation of our size and complexity. You will bring a track record of personally cultivating significant gifts, as well as leveraging and supporting key stakeholders and volunteers to support these activities. Your international fundraising experience will be an added bonus, particularly with donors in North America. With your highly developed diplomacy, tact, and sophisticated interpersonal skills, you understand and know how to get the best of people in support of the organisations you’ve represented. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re looking for an experienced Individual Giving Manager who can drive transformational change in IG fundraising, to achieve our ambitious fundraising targets. As well as being a hands on IG professional, you will manage a high performing team to deliver the entire journey from acquisition to stewardship.
KEY ACCCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead the team to project manage and deliver acquisition campaigns across face-to-face, digital, prize-led, and direct marketing channels.
- Develop and deliver multi-channel strategies to attract, convert, and retain supporters.
- Champion innovation by testing new approaches, messaging, and formats to maximise reach and ROI.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Community Experience, Data) to build seamless supporter journeys and ensure excellent stewardship.
- Manage external suppliers including creative agencies, fundraising partners, and fulfilment houses to deliver campaigns on time and on budget.
- Own the budget and performance: forecast, monitor, and report on KPIs, identifying opportunities for growth and optimisation.
- Use data and insights to inform targeting, segmentation, and campaign development.
- Be a CRM champion, using supporter data to drive decisions and track performance.
- Lead and develop a high performing team
- Champion individual giving across the charity and provide on-going training and support on these areas.
