THE CHARITY
Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.
James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected. We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 5,100 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.
In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are expanding our newly established team of clinicians to deliver our clinical proven intervention at our new James’ Place centre in Birmingham. As a Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Successful applicants will be joining a new team at a pivotal time and will have the opportunity to shape the local culture at James’ Place Birmingham. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in Birmingham and the wider James’ Place team.

Programme Overview
The Restart programme offers enhanced support to Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for at least 6 months to find jobs in their local area. Starting at the end of June 2021, it will benefit more than 1 million Universal Credit claimants who are expected to look for and be available for work but have no sustained learnings. The scheme will provide up to 12 months of tailored support for each participant. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other partners to deliver tailored support for individuals.
There role is based in our busy Southampton office with travel to Ringwood or Winchester.
The Employment Advisor will play a vital role in the success of the programme. They will be in charge of managing a case load of customers, working with them to create and follow an individualised workplan towards sustained employment. They have the ability to be a catalyst for change and really empower people to progress.

Job Summary
The post holder provides support to the Head of Chancery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality ceremonial events that reflects the values, traditions and customs of the Order of St John. The role contributes and support the charity’s strategy as an enabling function in line with our ‘Thriving People’ aim, through the delivery of events which celebrate our people and their achievements and help to foster a sense of belonging.
This role supports the planning, management and delivery of a range of events from our annual St John’s Day celebrations, Investitures, other services held in the Priory Church and our involvement in national ceremonial occasions (such as Remembrance).
This role demands a strong attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritise complex workloads and excellent communication skills. You will have experience in event planning and delivery, preferably with a background in managing ceremonial events, and a proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
About You
You will be educated to Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C) including Maths & English, you will have experience of planning and delivering highly complicated ceremonial events, experience of planning and delivering highly complicated ceremonial events in the context of an Order of Chivalry and excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively at all levels.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, on a full-time basis (35 hours per week), to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Greater Manchester Care Team.
Reporting to the Family Support Manager of the Greater Manchester Care Team and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.
Having worked in a demanding and emotional environment you have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.
