upReach’s vision is of a society in which everybody has an equal opportunity to realise their full career potential. Founded in 2012, we are an award-winning charity working in close partnership with employers and universities, we deliver a programme of 1-to-1 coaching to eligible undergraduates. We provide personalised employability support to over 3,000 students from across the UK, helping them to discover different career options, and develop the vital skills, networks and experiences needed to succeed in their chosen career and beyond.

Purpose of role: To support international conservation grants programmes and lead on the development of our 220 strong global Winner Network at WFN: an impactful fundraising and grant-giving wildlife conservation charity focused on supporting grassroots projects across Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Reports to: Head of Grants
Deadline to apply: 31st August (before end of day). Successful candidates will be invited to interview following the deadline and we are planning for a mid October 2025 start date.
Whitley Fund for Nature
Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK charity supporting grassroots conservation leaders across the Global South. Through project funding (Awards), training, and media profile, we support local solutions to the planet’s most pressing conservation challenges. Our winners are courageous changemakers, working alongside communities to save species and protect ecosystems. Established in 1993, we have channeled £24 million to +220 conservation leaders in 80 countries, benefitting wildlife, landscapes, and people. We fund mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America where income is often hardest to raise and can have the biggest impact for people and biodiversity. WFN is governed by a committed trustee board. Our team is dynamic, passionate about our mission, and ambitious. The charity benefits from high profile support from Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and Ambassador Sir David Attenborough.
Our funding is raised each year, mainly from family trusts and foundations, as well as from individuals, corporates, and international NGOs, with a current annual income of around £2.6m/year. We raise funds based on winner need, and in the coming years are seeking to steadily grow what we provide in support to winners, and so are bolstering the capacity of our team in line with this ambition.
The Opportunity
This role at WFN provides an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of our growing Winner Network Development (WND) programme, identified as one of the charity’s key areas for strategic growth and maximised impact over the coming years. The GNM will also assist our Head of Grants (HG) in monitoring our portfolio of active grants, with support from the Grants Assistant (GA). The GNM will also participate in the Whitley Awards application process by helping to screen the grant applications and supporting with due diligence. If you have a conservation background, and experience with capacity development programmes, proactively managing growing networks, and monitoring active grants, then this is the role for you.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage of their career, with full training and support provided. You’ll gain experience with a wide range of platforms and processes – from finance tools, databases, and information management – making it a great foundation for building broad, transferable skills in the charity sector. Where possible, you’ll also have the chance to get involved in other aspects of our work, offering valuable insight into how a small but ambitious organisation operates.
We also welcome applications from experienced administrators, operations professionals, or executive assistants. Such candidates may be appointed as Senior Operations Officer, with additional responsibilities and a higher salary.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organisational administration
- Lead on day-to-day operational processes to ensure the efficient running of the organisation.
- Provide executive support to the CEO and COO, including diary coordination, scheduling, and meeting logistics.

- Coordinate team activities such as strategy days, team-building events, and the annual Christmas party.
- Support HR-related processes such as managing staff anniversaries, birthdays, departures, and basic record-keeping.
- Act as liaison between the CEO and Board of Trustees as required.
- Collaborate with building management to ensure smooth operation of office facilities.
Fundraising administration
- Provide administrative support for funding applications and reports, including document preparation and submission.
- Monitor timelines and deadlines for all fundraising-related commitments, ensuring requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate fundraising records, keeping donor and income information up to date in our systems.
- Liaise with fundraising partners, sponsors, and donors as required.
N.B. The fundraising aspect of this role is focused on providing administrative and logistical support. This is not a fundraising position, and applicants are not expected to be responsible for income generation.
Team-wide support
- Monitor and respond to incoming enquiries via phone, email, and the Contact Us form, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Process and respond to volunteer applications, maintaining accurate records and liaising with applicants as required.
- Manage organisational resources, including internal supplies and external materials, monitoring stock levels and coordinating reorders.
- Provide office management support to ensure a well-functioning, well-resourced working environment.
- Organise team travel arrangements for internal and external events.
Occasional duties
- Provide support in the lead-up to major events with preparation of materials as required.
- Support on-the-day delivery of major events alongside other team members.
- Represent the charity at external events and exhibitions.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage of their career who is eager to learn and grow within a supportive team. We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual who can take ownership of their work, spot opportunities to improve processes, and contribute positively to all areas of the charity.
Essential
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, monitor timelines, and meet deadlines independently.

Experienced candidates
We welcome applications from candidates with proven experience in administration, operations, or executive support roles, who are interested in a Senior Admin & Operations Officer position.
For this level, we are looking for demonstrated competence in managing complex administrative tasks, coordinating across teams, and supporting senior leadership with minimal supervision. Senior Admin & Operations Officers should be confident in taking initiative, driving improvements, and handling a broader range of responsibilities.

Beacon is a small, tight-knit team, with a friendly atmosphere and strong commitment to our beneficiaries. We aim to give all employees opportunities to pursue their interests, develop their skills, and shape their career path.
We offer flexible working practices to help our staff balance their personal and professional lives, including hybrid working and flexible hours. While our hybrid policy requires all staff to work in the office at least two days per week, the high level of cross-team collaboration, executive support responsibilities, and office management duties involved in the Operations Officer role mean that regular in-person attendance is particularly important.

About Us
The Wildlife Trusts are a grassroots movement of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who believe that we need nature and nature needs us. We have more than 944,000 members, over 38,000 volunteers, 3,600 staff and 600 trustees. There are 46 individual Wildlife Trusts, each of which is a place-based independent charity with its own legal identity, formed by groups of people getting together and working with others to make a positive difference to wildlife and future generations, starting where they live and work.
Every Wildlife Trust is part of The Wildlife Trusts federation and a corporate member of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, a registered charity in its own right founded in 1912 and one of the founding members of IUCN – the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Taken together this federation of 47 charities is known as The Wildlife Trusts.
The next few years will be critical in determining what kind of world we all live in. We need to urgently reverse the loss of wildlife and put nature into recovery at scale if we are to prevent climate and ecological disaster. We recognise that this will require big, bold changes in the way The Wildlife Trusts work, not least in how we mobilise others and support them to organise within their own communities.
About You
Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for policy, public affairs and making a real difference? Do you dream of using your skills to make a real difference in conservation and farming? We have an opportunity at the heart of The Wildlife Trusts for someone keen to ensure that natures’ recovery is at the heart of UK farming, food and land use policy? If you have experience in UK farm and land policy, with excellent advocacy and communication skills, and would like to work for one of the UK’s bestloved nature charities, then we have an exciting opportunity for you
Working within our small but highly impactful team, the Land Use Policy Manager will work to influence the development of land use and farm policy, to improve the quality of decisions taken at a project and strategic level to deliver The Wildlife Trusts’ ambitions for natures recovery and nature friendly, climate resilient farming and food systems.
You will develop and manage strategic relationships to position The Wildlife Trusts as key instigators of change, building climate and nature’s recovery into rapidly changing farm, land and policy. You will also be supporting the Federation of Wildlife Trusts’ work on farming and food.
We are looking for an organised and resourceful individual who has proven experience of working with various sectors to influence farm policy and strategy. Do you want to make a difference?
For more than 105 years, the RAF Benevolent Fund has been supporting the RAF Family. We are a key enabler of the Royal Air Forces’ mission to look after its people during and after service. The Fund delivers strategic reinforcement of the RAF’s duty of care, and ensures that service is valued, recognised, and people are supported even when uniforms are eventually shed. We are a national charity with international reach, delivering emotional, financial and practical support wherever and whenever it is needed. In 2024, recognising increasingly challenging times, our vital services and support continued to help those in uniform, the bereaved, families and veterans in 30 other countries. In 2024 more than 64,000 people benefited from the charity’s work. It doesn’t matter how long someone served or when. If they were part of the RAF, they and their family are part of our RAF Family. We will always be here to support them when they need it most.
Join the RAF Family and play your part in making a difference.
Do you want to play a part in what we do?
People are at the heart of what we do. Together we:

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

At Look Ahead, co-production is central to our approach. We are committed to collaborating closely with our customers to shape the support they receive. We invited S to develop a job advertisement for their new deputy service manager, and this is what they shared:
"Hi, I'm S. and I am a 43-year-old woman who lives in a supported living accommodation in Newham since 2022.
I am generally a happy and sociable person who enjoys being with those around me and makes friends quickly. I have a good relationship with my family and enjoy spending time with them at their house when I can.
I enjoy activities like arts and crafts, spending time on YouTube, dancing and going to the café. I also enjoy looking after myself and getting my nails and hair done and shopping for nice clothes (but I might need prompting to put outfits together to look nice and I enjoy staff telling me I am looking well and giving me positive feedback).
I like to be surrounded by people who are very proactive and can be creative and patient when engaging me in tasks and activities - and are confident supporting me in building safe relationships. I enjoy and respond well to positive affirmations and recognition of my progress."

We are particularly keen to receive applications from black, asian and minority ethnic people; people with disabilities; people who identify as being LGTBQIA; people who have a mental health condition; and people who identify as working class or have done so in the past.
