Apply to join the Carers´ Hub team as our Young Carers Support Worker. This rewarding role sits within the Young Carers Service and the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessment with young carers and their families in order to identify their needs and develop a support plan.

You will work directly with young carers aged 5 and up to achieve positive outcomes, identifying and preventing inappropriate caring responsibilities through whole-family assessments and reviews and ensuring that young carers and their families have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs. You’ll also work closely with the Young Carers Team Leader to support the delivery of our young carers activities programme.

We are looking for someone who has a real passion about our mission and with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families.  You will have excellent organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT.  You will need to be available for occasional evening and weekend work.

You will have experience working with vulnerable children and young people and will have a strong grasp of the realities of being a young carer in an inner city London borough.

This is a key role within Learning and Work Institute, with responsibility for delivering high quality research, analysis and evaluation across learning, skills and employment.

Day to day duties:

• Design and deliver high quality research, analysis and evaluation, to time and budget. Researchers will work on a wide range of mixed methods research and evaluation projects across the learning, skills and employment sector.
• Manage small projects and lead on elements of large projects.
• Develop and implement appropriate research methodologies and methods, evaluation strategies and research tools. Projects generally include a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods, such as semi-structured interviews, focus groups, evidence reviews, surveys, analysis of management information and secondary data analysis.
•  Develop and manage systems for gathering, recording, analysing and presenting data from a range of projects for maximum impact.
• Contribute to the production of high-quality research, policy and evaluation reports, interpreting evidence in a way that is accessible to a wide range of audiences.
• Disseminate research findings through written reports, media articles, blogs and presentations. Communicate the work of L&W through print and broadcast media. Represent L&W at events and external meetings. 
• Support income generation by contributing to the preparation of funding proposals and responses to tenders.
• Undertake project administration and coordination tasks related to research activity.
• Supervise interns, associates and temporary staff, as required, including possible line management responsibility for research interns.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge and experience of a range of social research methods and an interest in the policy context for learning, skills and employment.

Essential criteria:

• Relevant degree, equivalent qualification(s) or evidence of equivalent experience.
• Understanding and application of a range of research, analysis and evaluation methodologies and methods.
• Ability to develop and use appropriate methods and tools to support high quality research.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills, that ensure work is effectively prioritised to meet deadlines.
• Strong track record of organising, co-ordinating and managing a range of activities against competing deadlines and priorities.

The Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals and groups fundraising through sporting events, and effectively account managing relationships to maximise income.      

The Sporting Events Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. You will work closely with the Sporting Events Manager and Head of Sporting Events and Volunteering to drive the continued growth of the charity’s sporting event fundraising income. You will also be required to show excellent organisation and relationship-building skills to support partnerships with third party events, internally developed products and related marketing providers, to drive towards agreed targets.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Account management and strategic support

· Support the Sporting Events Manager (SEM) / Head of Sporting Events and Volunteering (HSEV) in delivering the Sporting Events strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream

· Support the SEM to develop and manage the portfolio of third-party sporting events and internally developed products for ARUK

· Successful account management of third-party event suppliers as agreed with SEM/HSEV

· Seek opportunities to expand and improve event portfolio, keeping abreast of industry trends and competitor activity.

· To maximise income through developing and managing an agreed portfolio of events, focusing on supporter care processes and the retention of supporters. The role will include targets related to specific events

· Work with SEM to develop budgets and targets for key areas of work

Supporter Management/Experience

· Provide excellent customer service to existing fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty

· Keeping an accurate record of fundraising outcomes, for reporting both internally and externally

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers

· To support the SEM in overseeing appropriate staff and volunteer representation at third party events. This will include attending events across the UK in person.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives

· Work with supporters across a number of digital channels ensuring we are communicating with them in the channel most relevant to them. To include building and managing online social groups.

Event/Project Management

· To plan, manage and deliver successful events through relationship management of suppliers and logistics companies, in addition to volunteers

· To work with the events team to organise pre-/post-event receptions as appropriate

· To work in collaboration with the Digital and Communications departments to ensure that a programme of PR and communication is in place that promotes and supports the planned activities

· To develop and deliver process enhancements with the SEM to allow the team to maintain high performance as the number of supporters grows.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that sporting event activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to SEM/HSEV

· Utilise event analytics to highlight risks, success and inform marketing strategy.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income

· Track and record contact with third party event providers and fundraisers for reporting purposes

What we are looking for:

· Knowledge of the events fundraising market, ideally sporting events

· Relationship management experience

· Experience of fundraising in a sporting context (personal or professional)

· Experience of working with digital technologies and online communities

· Use of CRM or database systems

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload

· Excellent organisational skills

· Excellent attention to detail

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Role - Zero Hours Children's Resource Worker

Hours - variable and inconsistent including evenings and weekends

Salary - £12.77 per hour plus 15% Holiday Pay

Location - Applicants must be based in the South Wales area to be able to cover carers and children support within Llanelli in the west to Monmouthshire in the East and up towards Brecon area.

TACT Wales are looking for a children's resource worker to collaborate with them to support foster children and carers in the region. The ideal Children's Resource Worker will already have some experience in engagement and participation with vulnerable young people, care experienced children or have similar experience in child-facing settings. High level of flexibility required to cover weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Occasionally may be required to support with overnight residentials and night support within the foster home. Car driver and owning a car is essential. There will be opportunities for training and development for this role, as new workers join us at our organisation wide journey to become a fully trauma-informed organisation. The successful candidate will undertake essential  duties that will impact positively on the long-term outcomes for the young people and children in our care. Your role will be delivering high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the hub’s local community priorities and work alongside people who are experiencing housing problems to identify issues specific to Dorset.  You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to help find resolutions and engage with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of people’s rights.

Working within local community settings and alongside community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops, you will ensure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their stories and views, participating in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.

About you

You will be able to work with individuals and communities including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have experience and knowledge of housing and homelessness advice and advocacy as well as the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support your clients to make informed decisions. You have a strong track record of delivering group workshops and presentations and collaborate with others to get the job done.

SEEAC is hiring a Welfare Support Officer (full-time or 4 days/week, 6-month maternity cover) to join our small, dedicated team supporting members of East and Southeast Asian communities in the UK.

SEEAC is a non-profit organisation that provides community-based support, especially to migrants, refugees and others facing marginalisation.

This role provides vital welfare advice, casework, and safeguarding support, including for those affected by hate crimes.

We're looking for someone with 3+ years’ experience in community or non-profit work, strong knowledge of UK welfare systems, and fluency in English and at least one ESEA language.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and champion welfare within the community
• Provide confidential and objective casework advocacy for service users
• Safeguard the rights of survivors and witnesses of hate crimes, discrimination, and exploitation
• Administer SEEAC’s free mental health support services
• Offer welfare advice and emotional support tailored to individual needs
• Signpost service users to relevant external welfare and specialist support services
• Conduct proactive research into available support services beyond SEEAC's remit

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' professional or volunteer experience in community/non-profit settings, particularly in social justice

• Fluent in English and at least one ESEA (East and Southeast Asian) language

Benefits

£29,120 - £30,576 per annum FTE (full-time equivalent) pro rata plus pension contribution. Flexible homework is offered in a hybrid setting, with in-person work based at the SEEAC office in East London. To create a better collaboration with other staff members, SEEAC, however, require all staff members to work in the office or on-site occasionally as required. Opportunities for skills development training are offered. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, on a full-time or 4-days/week part-time (0.8 FTE) basis, for a September start. SEEAC’s full-time is 5 days per week (35hrs per week).

Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.

Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

We are seeking a faith filled, people focussed senior leader offering operational management which includes oversight of our Support Services Hub and staff team and developing commercial enterprise, to contribute to our financial resilience and resource mission.

In terms of enterprise, your role will be to develop and implement an entrepreneurial approach to income generation and financial sustainability.  This might focus on our use of buildings, the development of other innovative commercial enterprise and developing and implementing other fundraising strategies (including grant applications).  We already hire out many of our buildings, yet we recognise that our buildings and grounds, could be used more innovatively and are seeking somebody who will bring innovation to our thinking and enable our assets to be stewarded more effectively. An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to work with a new partnership of Unified Community Assistance Network Enfield. UCAN Enfield is a consortium led by Age UK Enfield, with delivery partners from One to One, Mind in Enfield and Barnet, Wellbeing Connect, Bread n Butter, Cooking Champions and Middlesex Association for Blind.

We offer a range of services and activities to promote health and wellbeing and independence to residents aged 18+ who may be affected by sensory loss, autism, mental health conditions, long-term health conditions, and people whose voices are seldom heard.

Our specialist programme has been designed to be inclusive for all, and includes healthy eating and nutrition, cookery workshops, exercise and wellbeing groups. We also deliver peer support groups and lead the Adult Autism Hub.

Duties will include:

• Working alongside UCAN Enfield partners to co-produce and support the delivery of a programme of health and wellbeing sessions in the community that meet a range of needs from general population to specific conditions
• Attending community activities to meet new potential referrals and engage with participants.
• Managing shared UCAN Enfield Email inbox on a rota basis and loading new referrals onto Charity Log.
• Using Charity Log (CRM) to access and manage referrals by triaging and determining their level of need 1,2,3* and allocating the appropriate support which may include referring to other UCAN Enfield partners or referring to other partners.
• To manage a case load of 25 new referrals per month.
• To work alongside UCAN partners to ensure that referral pathways are established and maintained with GP’s, Enfield community organisations, VCS, Social Care, Health Teams, pharmacies.

The successful candidate should have a minimum 2 years of relevant experience in social care, housing and VCS Services.
