Volunteer It Yourself (VIY), a UK-wide not-for-profit organisation linked to youth skills and employment, volunteering and construction, is looking for a passionate fundraising manager to drive our income streams and play a crucial role in helping to grow our income.

Young people participating in VIY are mentored by professional tradespeople and gain vocational skills accreditations as well as access to further training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities with local providers and employers beyond the project.
VIY launched in 2011 and now operates UK‑wide with £2.6 million annual income and 25 full time employees. To date, over 1,000 youth and community buildings across the UK have been renovated, involving 18,000 young people and 1,200 trade skills mentors. You can read more about our work in our impact report.

This is a fixed term maternity cover role for approximately 12months. The fixed term appointment may end earlier or be extended depending on the substantive post-holder’s return date
The position is a mixture of office and home-based working for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The usual office days for the Church & Charity team are a Monday and Friday but some flexibility at other times, to accommodate client needs, is an essential part of the role when required.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Department, the principal purpose of the role is to deliver high quality legal services to clients in the ecclesiastical, charity and not for profit sectors, providing advice on governance, regulatory, commercial and property matters.
By working collaboratively with all members of the Church & Charity department, the post-holder will provide our clients with a service that is of a high standard, ensures the department works effectively and promotes a professional image of the Firm at all times.
The role requires someone familiar with advising clients in a commercial manner, management and control of a caseload, workload, and risk management in relation to the role. It includes helping to develop relationships across departments, as well as interaction with other law firms and professionals.
The role also involves working with the management team from time to time, assisting in the design, delivery and implementation of system changes, workflow and process improvements, as well as being involved in training and business development activities to promote the Church and Charity department and the business as a whole.
Job Description
Principal duties:
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
You’ll be at the helm of a busy, welcoming centre that brings residential stays, day visits, camping and outdoor activities to guiding groups, schools, youth groups, corporate teams, families and friends. That variety is part of what makes the role so rewarding. No two days look the same, and that’s exactly the point.
This is a senior role with real scope and real responsibility. You’ll lead a team, set the tone for high standards across the site, manage the practical realities of running a working centre, and help shape its future direction in line with Girlguiding Anglia’s values and ambitions. You’ll have the chance to think strategically about where the centre goes next while staying hands on with the day to day running that keeps a place like Hautbois thriving.
We’re after someone positive, proactive and organised, who leads with warmth as much as with structure. You’ll need to be comfortable holding multiple priorities at once, calm under pressure, and genuinely motivated by creating great experiences for the people who come through the centre’s doors. If you enjoy variety, thrive on responsibility and want your work to have a visible, lasting impact, this role offers all of that in abundance.
The role is based at Hautbois, right in the Norfolk countryside. Flexible working may be possible where it suits the business, though some evenings and weekends will be part of the job given the nature of a residential site. The centre isn’t easily reached by public transport, so a car and full driving licence are essential for commuting and the occasional meeting further afield.
In return, you’ll get free parking, office drinks and snacks, a holiday allowance that grows with your length of service, and modern IT and working facilities to support you in the role.
This role might also suit candidates with backgrounds as an activities manager, camp manager, adventure manager, outdoor learning manager or residential centre manager.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

St George the Martyr is a growing Parish Church. We are looking for an experienced operational leader who can help us build the organisation around that growth and turn vision into practical reality.
This is a senior leadership role at the heart of a vibrant, world-diverse parish in central London. Our congregation has grown, new ministries have taken root, Holy Hour has created a distinctive new space for worship and encounter, and the Borough Food Cooperative has become an increasingly important part of our relationship with the neighbourhood.
There is a great deal of life here. The question for us now is how we develop the people, systems, resources and organisational capacity needed to sustain it.
We are therefore appointing a Director of Operations / Parish Clerk to become the senior lay operational leader of St George the Martyr.
Working closely with the Rector, Churchwardens and PCC, you will take substantial responsibility for the effective day-to-day running and development of the parish. You will help turn our Mission Action Plan and wider ambitions into practical plans, strengthen our finances and governance, lead staff, improve systems, oversee significant projects and ensure that good decisions become reality.
This is not an administrative support role. We are looking for someone who enjoys making organisations work better, can see both the bigger picture and the practical detail, and is comfortable exercising real responsibility and delegated authority.
The role is unusually broad and interesting. Among other things, you will have the opportunity to:
We do not expect you to be an expert in every part of this wide-ranging role, and you do not need to have worked in a church before. More important is a strong track record in operations or organisational leadership, good financial judgement, experience of leading people, the ability to solve problems and improve systems, and the confidence to know when to act, when to delegate and when to seek advice.
St George the Martyr stands in the heart of Borough, on a site where Christians have worshipped for more than nine centuries. Our present church dates from 1736 and carries extraordinary layers of London history, but we are not primarily a heritage project. We are a living, worshipping church, rooted in the progressive Anglican-Catholic tradition, sacramental and inclusive, with the Eucharist at the heart of our life.
Our values are Worship, Purpose, Togetherness and Justice. We want to be a church where people grow in faith, newcomers find belonging, volunteers discover and use their gifts, children and families have a real place among us, and our buildings and resources are used imaginatively in the service of God and our neighbours.
The successful candidate will also hold the historic office of Parish Clerk of St George the Martyr and, subject to the appropriate requirements, may be proposed for membership of the Worshipful Company of Parish Clerks.
You will have a desire to support and develop the Christian mission and ethos of St George the Martyr and commitment to its values of Worship, Purpose, Togetherness and Justice.

Working alongside communities and the wider Bhip team, you will help turn lived experience, stories and insight into better community responses, stronger pathways and practical changes to how mental health support works across Bradford.
