As the Programme Manager, you’ll own and drive the planning, governance and delivery of major cross charity fundraising appeals, including a significant capital appeal that forms a key part of the Charities’ long term fundraising ambitions. 

The Programme Manager is accountable for the effective governance and delivery of these programmes across multiple teams within the Charities Directorate, ensuring that priorities are clear, dependencies are actively managed, risks are addressed, decisions are made at the right level, and programmes are ready to deliver key milestones and intended outcomes. 

You will ensure programmes are underpinned by: 

• Clear governance, decision-making and escalation structures 
• A single, accurate view of programme performance, progress, risks, dependencies and readiness 
• Clear ownership and accountability for delivery 
• Effective mechanisms for identifying and resolving issues before they impact programme outcomes. 

Acting as a key interface between the Charity and the Trust, you will build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, influence and challenge where appropriate, align competing priorities and ensure critical dependencies are actively managed. You will use judgement to identify when issues require escalation, intervention or senior decision-making. 

You will provide leadership across programme governance and performance, chairing senior cross functional forums and ensuring that decisions, actions and accountabilities are clear and followed through. You will intervene where necessary to resolve delivery challenges, challenge unrealistic assumptions or plans, and protect programme outcomes. 

 Beyond immediate appeal delivery, the Programme Manager leads horizon scanning to identify opportunities that leverage appeal success for sustainable fundraising growth, working with teams like Supporter Experience to embed donor retention and long-term income strategies into our work. 

The Programme Manager will be an experienced programme leader who can take accountability for complex, multi-stakeholder programmes; bring clarity and structure to ambiguity; influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams; and exercise sound judgement to resolve challenges, manage competing priorities and protect programme outcomes. 

As part of a small Strategy, Planning & Innovation team, the Programme Manager will also champion project management best practice across the directorate, building the tools, capability and ways of working that enable consistent high-quality delivery. 

Key Responsibilities

 Programme and project Leadership (approx. 40% of role)

Management of stakeholders and interdependencies (approx. 40% of role) 

• Act as the primary liaison between the Charities Directorate and the Trust, ensuring strategic alignment, effective decision making and management of critical programme dependencies. This means you’ll be onsite at the hospital and hospital offices on Lambeth Palace Road frequently and regularly. 
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the Charity and the Trust, including those more senior, providing constructive challenge, influencing decisions and securing alignment around programme priorities and delivery. 
• Provide programme leadership through chairing appeal boards and senior governance forums, ensuring strategic decisions are made, owned and acted upon. 
• Lead cross-functional working groups that co-ordinate delivery across teams, resolve challenges and maintain progress against programme objectives. 
•  Use judgement and insight to bring the most important strategic issues, risks and opportunities to the right forum at the right time, enabling leaders to make informed decisions and stay ahead of emerging challenges. 
• Lead stakeholder engagement that builds understanding, confidence and commitment to the major appeals programme, ensuring all stakeholders remain aligned on priorities, decisions and progress. 

Project management best practice (approx. 20% of role) 

• Design and embed a project management toolkit that empowers teams to lead consistent and high quality projects in their own business areas. 
• Build project and programme management capability across teams by coaching, influencing and challenging colleagues to adopt effective approaches and ways of working, improving the consistency and quality of delivery across teams. 
• Partner with the Strategy and Planning Manager to shape business planning tools, processes and mechanisms that drive collaboration, enable iteration and strengthen delivery across the directorate. 

 Work environment The post holder should expect to:

•  Work in a hot desk environment, at least two days a week in the Charity’s office, hospital and hospital offices. 
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements. 
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends (eg board meetings, launch events).

Each year, thousands of greyhounds across the UK rely on the generosity of supporters of the Greyhound Trust to find safe, loving homes. With an annual income of around £4.5 million, individual giving and gifts in Wills is central to our income generation strategy and this role lead its growth and development.

This role is perfect for an experienced fundraiser ready to own the individual giving and gift in Wills strategy end to end. You will set the direction for donor communications, appeals and the legacy pipeline, taking responsibility for income from individual donors and KPIs while working closely with the Head of Income Generation and Engagement to contribute to the overall income generation and engagement strategy.

You will take the lead in developing, testing, learning and growing the direct marketing programme and developing supporter journeys both online and offline. You’ll develop our email marketing and online supporter journeys for now and the future.

This is a broad, varied role, for a senior fundraiser. Whether your background is strongest in individual giving, community fundraising, legacies, digital or data, if you are a confident communicator with proven experience of owning fundraising strategy, income and supplier relationships ready to take your next step in animal welfare, this is the role for you.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead the development of the individual giving and legacies strategy and annual planning, budgeting and KPIs, reporting performance to the Head of Income Generation.
2. Set the direction for a sustainable individual giving programme, growing the supporter base across all channels and developing strategies to engage and motivate supporters.
3. Own the planning and delivery of engaging, multi-channel fundraising campaigns and appeals.

7. Own email marketing and online supporter journeys.
8. Lead the legacy giving and in-memory fundraising strategy.
9. Own monthly analysis of income and expenditure against KPIs, reporting on progress and forecasting future results.
10. Design and implement a stewardship programme with particular attention to supporter journeys for new and existing supporters that increase average values and long-term support.
11. Own compliance of the individual giving programme, identifying and managing risk and escalating to the Head of Income Generation and Engagement where necessary.
12. Ensure data collection, management, use, storage and destruction comply with data protection law and best practice.
13. Work closely with other members of staff and senior managment to ensure individual giving products and initiatives are integrated with other areas of the charity, such as brand and marketing programmes, retail development and homing campaigns.
14. Own direct relationships with external suppliers, agencies and freelancers, setting briefs, managing budgets and holding them to account.
15. Act as the organisation’s senior specialist on individual giving and legacies, advising and influencing colleagues, volunteers and homing centres on how their roles can support fundraising opportunities, without formal line authority.

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience of working in a senior individual giving, direct marketing, community, or general fundraising role.
• Demonstrable track record of delivering sustained income growth and establishing new programmes of activity.
• Experience owning a budget and KPI set, forecasting, reporting to senior management and adjusting plans in response to performance.
• Proven ability to get the best out of external suppliers and agencies (copywriters, designers, mailing houses, platform developers, etc.) to maximise outcomes, setting budgets and holding suppliers to account for results.
• Demonstrable experience of donor development, journeys and stewardship at a strategic level.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a fundraising specialist with the abilities and ambition to grow our charitable income generation and take ANT to our next level of impact.

Our current fundraising strategy is focused around corporate partnerships, individual giving campaigns (in particular crowdfunders where we have a strong track record), philanthropists and trusts and foundations.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience and skillsets in areas that would complement and build on existing strengths and experience in the team; generating new leads in relationship fundraising context, developing and diversifying our individual giving offering and building excellent stewardship journeys.

You will help grow out impact by inspiring and influencing others to follow us in our ambitious plans for change.

Main responsibilities

• Lead from the front to grow our fundraising operations and strategy
  • Work with the Director of Income and fundraising team to review and refresh our fundraising strategy, as we enter its third year
  • Carry out a stocktake of recent performance and identify areas for growth 
  • Develop workstream plans for the year across different fundraising areas including generating new corporate partners and mid to high level philanthropist supporter leads, testing new individual giving channels and developing excellent donor stewardship

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is looking for a Process Analyst to help us build a clearer, more joined-up understanding of how data moves through our organisation.

This is a hands-on, data-focused role. You'll work across systems, teams and processes to map how information is captured, transformed and used; identify where things break down; and help create clearer rules and more sustainable ways of working.

You'll need to be comfortable getting into the detail of data, asking challenging questions and working closely with technical and non-technical colleagues to turn complexity into practical solutions.
 

Salary

The salary for this role is £48,192 per annum and this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
