The Biochemical Society are seeking a Digital Marketing Officer, on an 18-month fixed term contract, to support the Marketing and Communications team across the organisation.

The Digital Marketing Officer will work closely with community engagement, publishing, events and grants to showcase the full range of activities across the organisation, building outreach and engagement with audiences and driving the Society and PPL’s resources, initiatives, brand awareness and impact across the sector.

The post-holder will have strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and channels to schedule email campaigns, social media content and managing accounts to drive engagement and reach, and use data and metrics to improve and adapt activities and make informed decisions through key marketing platforms such as Google and LinkedIn ads.

With support from the Marketing and Communications team, this role will lead on website content management for both the Society and PPL, ensuring process and guidelines are followed in accordance with the style and branding for all public facing materials, and monitoring the online user experience is clear and intuitive for target audiences across the Society and PPL.

Suitable candidates will have experience using digital channels for marketing, online marketing tools, and demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills to meet internal and external needs.

Knowledge of design tools to support creating content for online channels with experience using Canva, Photoshop and Acrobat desired.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Fundraising and Development team on a fixed-term basis.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships (Maternity Cover) will work alongside the Strategic Director of Fundraising and Development to lead and further develop the strategic plan for corporate fundraising at the Playhouse. They will also lead the day-to-day running of the activities that fall within this key component of the Fundraising and Development department.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships (Maternity Cover) will be part of a small team and receive some admin support from the Development Administrator.

Corporate sector fundraising includes planning, developing and managing campaigns to meet agreed income targets for income from businesses, managing and delivering agreed benefits, and maintaining key Playhouse partnerships with the corporate sector.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract of 35 hours per week for around 12 months, depending on available start date. Working pattern will vary with some flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required. Pay for this role is £30,600 per year. Position Summary

The Head of Finance is the lead finance professional at GSG Impact, and, with the support of the Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for leading all aspects of the charity's finances.

The Head of Finance will be the owner of the external audit relationship and be responsible for the production of the annual report and accounts, including all regulatory compliance associated with a UK based charitable entity. They will support the leadership’s preparation for, and presentations to both the charity’s Finance and Audit sub-committee and the main GSG Board.  

The postholder will ensure that the charity’s budget and financial position are closely monitored and that established financial controls, spanning the procurement to payments cycle, are firmly adhered to. 

They will lead on the annual budget setting process, including interim reforecasting, and financial reporting.

In addition, the postholder will provide budgetary support, business partnering and technical advice to non-finance staff, and build strong relationships across the organisation, particularly the Fundraising and Programme Support Teams, positioning GSG for continued success and financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to the day-to-day Leadership of the Finance Function and staff management the Key Areas of Responsibility are:

Regulatory Compliance & Audit

• Preparation of the Annual financial statements and Audited accounts for the charitable entity and trading subsidiary.
• Completion of regulatory returns as required by the Charities’ Commission.
• Co-ordination and filing of the quarterly VAT returns and annual Corporation Tax return
• Review of the VAT registration position for continued appropriateness
• Ensure gift aid is calculated and paid over from the trading subsidiary to the charity, as applicable

Management Accounting and Planning

• Leadership of the Annual organisational budget process, including multi-year financial plans and Scenario modelling
• Lead mid-year reforecast process for review and approval of the Board
• Production of Monthly – Quarterly summary management accounts with accompanying narrative to support analysis of significant variances and trends
• Oversee Budget vs actual reporting and analysis by department-function for circulation to nominated budget holders

Financial Accounting, Cash and Treasury Management

• Ownership of the month end financial accounting processes and adjustments
• Manage monthly payroll process with outsourced provider
• Oversee completion of monthly Balance sheet reconciliations including bank accounts
• Manage accounts payable processes to ensure timely fulfilment of obligations to suppliers and 3rd party payments
• Monitor domestic and foreign currency bank accounts and ensure optimal balances are maintained in the various currency accounts
• Prepare regular cash flow forecasts utilising updated income and expenditure information to monitor working capital needs in the short and medium term

Funds Management & Programme Support

• Work with Programme Support colleagues in the preparation of standard budgets for donor proposals, ensuring cost recovery is maximised in line with our Full Cost Recovery Model
• Maintain a staff cost allocation database to provide an overview of funding gaps to be addressed in future donor proposals
• Oversee the production of Donor, project, or grant expenditure financial reports to ensure we meet our donor reporting obligations
• Maintain a Restricted/Unrestricted fund summary analysis schedule to support fund balances reported in the Balance Sheet
• Liaise with finance colleagues within the National Partners on sub-granted funds

Governance & Board Support

• Main liaison with the Audit and Finance committee, co-ordinating quarterly meeting schedule, agenda and supporting reports and documentation
• Production of additional information as required for Trustee board finance packs
• Supply of financial data for KPIs and dashboards on a quarterly basis
• Periodic review of Reserves Policy to ensure appropriateness and update as required by the Board

Financial Systems, Controls & Risk Management

• Maintain and ensure effective application of organisation wide financial policies and procedures
• Preparation and analysis of data required to support Going concern assessments
• Review and update on areas of financial risk as identified in the Risk Register updates
• Support colleagues in due diligence and risk assessments for partners engaged through sub grants
• Lead on continuous improvements to financial processes to ensure finance systems support programme management and organisational growth

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post qualification experience
• Experience of working with the UK Charity SORP and production of annual report and accounts
• Experience of managing a team and relationships with colleagues in a distributed global structure
• Experience managing a multi-donor funded organisational budget and grant budgets, including restricted and unrestricted funding, full cost recovery and financial reporting.
• Experience with multi-currency income & expenditure and management of the processes around sub-grants to overseas partners

We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive team in Selby and Tadcaster working 25 hours per week, on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027.

This is a community-based role involving regular travel across the area including local home visits, meetings, and direct support, with the flexibility to work from home based on business and community needs.

You will work closely with people living with dementia and those who care about them, providing ongoing support. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes.

Our Hospital Dementia Adviser provides vital support to people living with dementia during their hospital stay. You’ll work directly with individuals who have a dementia diagnosis and their families, helping them understand their situation, navigate hospital processes, and plan a safe and confident discharge home with the right support in place.

This is a hospital-based role that involves regular walking between wards and departments. You will work closely with the wider Local Services Team to ensure that people are smoothly connected to ongoing support in the community once they leave the hospital.

Although there is no direct personal or clinical care involved, this role is all about offering high-quality advice, guidance, and emotional support. You will collaborate with hospital staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure that people affected by dementia receive the right information and feel supported throughout their journey.

We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork.
You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you.

About you 

We are looking for someone compassionate, organised, and confident working in a busy hospital environment.

- Have an understanding of dementia and the needs of people living with dementia (experience with other health conditions or support needs will also be considered).
- Be comfortable moving around a hospital sites at Hull Royal Information and Castle Hill Hospitals and engaging with people in a fast-paced setting.
- Be comfortable providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles.
- You will be able to listen and communicate, with the ability to build trust and rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

- Facilitate and deliver regular peer support groups creating a safe, inclusive environment where people affected by dementia can share experiences, build connections, and access tailored information and guidance.

At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe no one should face dementia alone. Every conversation, every visit and every small moment of reassurance can make a real difference.

We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive team in hull working 35 hours per week, on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027, working 8am - 4pm. 

You will work closely with people living with dementia and those who care about them, providing ongoing support. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes.

Our Hospital Dementia Adviser provides vital support to people living with dementia during their hospital stay. You’ll work directly with individuals who have a dementia diagnosis and their families, helping them understand their situation, navigate hospital processes, and plan a safe and confident discharge home with the right support in place.

This is a hospital-based role that involves regular walking between wards and departments. You will work closely with the wider Local Services Team to ensure that people are smoothly connected to ongoing support in the community once they leave the hospital.

Although there is no direct personal or clinical care involved, this role is all about offering high-quality advice, guidance, and emotional support. You will collaborate with hospital staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure that people affected by dementia receive the right information and feel supported throughout their journey.

We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork.
You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you.

About you 

We are looking for someone compassionate, organised, and confident working in a busy hospital environment.

- Have an understanding of dementia and the needs of people living with dementia (experience with other health conditions or support needs will also be considered).
- Be comfortable moving around a hospital sites at Hull Royal Information and Castle Hill Hospitals and engaging with people in a fast-paced setting.
- Be comfortable providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles.

Background

Middlesex Tennis is a registered charity that takes responsibility for the administration and development of tennis throughout the county, from those just thinking of taking up the game to tournament players of all levels. The Bone Cancer Research Trust has invested close to £12 million in research funding since our inception in 2006, with commitment accelerating rapidly since our first dedicated strategy was launched in 2017. To maximise the impact of our work, we are now seeking an exceptional individual to provide administrative and coordination support across Research, Information, Support and Awareness. We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to hit the ground running as part of our busy charitable team. Working in health or research-related environments would be beneficial, but not essential.  The role will involve the use of the charity’s CRM database and Teamwork.  Experience in the use of these is beneficial; however full training will be given. Experience in organizing and delivering meetings and/or conferences would be beneficial.

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands we are looking for a specialist Advocate for Scotland. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse. To ensure that families get the support they need, you will use AAFDA’s Home Office endorsed seven-step approach to working with individuals and families, to ensure that they receive the best possible support and advocacy to restore dignity and relief for families and to help them cope and recover. Through trauma-informed approaches, you will:

· Listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight.

· Provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide & Suicide Reviews (DHSR’s) and other reviews where relevant and appropriate.

· Manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities.

· Give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf.

· Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.
