We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Manager to lead and develop a function that supports our charity in making decisions based on data and insight. To establish a business intelligence centre of excellence, championing best practices, standardisation and data governance.

You will be leading and managing our Business Intelligence Team, including operational planning and budgeting. Helping to develop and deliver an annual operating plan that aligns with, and supports our strategic objectives. Working with our Senior Executive Team to ensure that our internal stakeholders are informed of the reach and impact of our work, and methods of improvement. You will be building excellent working relationships with all our stakeholders both internal and external.

As a member of the Management Development Forum, you will be expected to provide leadership across the organisation, including liaising with the Senior Leadership Team and deputising for the Head of Operations as required.

About the role

As the Area Service Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring our contracts with partners and/or commissioners deliver to the highest standards, in a way that creates maximum impact.

Role: Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Reporting to: Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Purpose of job: To work as a key part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, line managed by the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, and accountable to the Museum’s Director. This role will bring in vital income from trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individuals to deliver the business plan. This role has responsibility for achieving income targets by collaborating across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support.
Working pattern: 35 hours per week, usually worked from 10 – 6pm. Flexible/hybrid working offered for up 40% of hours to be worked from home.

Salary: c£36,000-38,000 depending on experience

Key objectives in first 6 months:

• Established position as a trusted and valued colleague within the Museum team
• Contributed towards a new philanthropic strategy for building income from established and new supporters, including corporate supporters, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, and made demonstrable progress in raising revenue in line with this
• Successfully managed existing relationships with funders including stewardship of supporters, grants and reporting as required
• Submitted new funding applications and researched and developed new prospects for funding and securing actual income to an agreed target

Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Identification, Communication and Cultivation

• Identify, research and develop a pipeline of trusts and foundations prospects, ensuring that relationships are well managed and planned for first, second and third requests for funding, as appropriate.
• Identify, research and approach corporate partnership prospects to support agreed priorities such as exhibitions and programmes
• Work closely with colleagues in Events, Commercial and Communications to promote corporate sponsorship packages, including working on communications and campaigns that encourage uptake and renewal
• Crafting compelling and engaging letters, proposals and applications to potential and existing supporters
• Collate social impact statistics and create an internal bank of resources that communicate our work articulately and passionately
• Reporting to funders by working with consultants and colleagues to write well-crafted and timely reports, highlighting the difference that a supporter's contribution has made, with accurate financial data and spend against projects, to draw down grants as required

• Support the all the Museum’s philanthropic activities including cultivation events and stakeholder management
• Represent the Museum at internal and external networking opportunities, developing existing and new supporter relationships
• Work successfully to achieve the Philanthropy and Partnerships team’s fundraising targets as well as personal revenue targets, showing growth in activity and results

Person specification
Essential:

•  Proven ability to manage and cultivate a list of active and significant supporters
•  Experience of writing funding proposals, bids and applications with a track record of success
•  Demonstrable excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to write high quality successful proposals, applications and reports

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team
In Autumn 2023, Foundling Museum delivered a successful, ambitious capital campaign to secure the future of the Museum through a variety of supporters, from individuals, major supporters and trusts/foundations.
The Philanthropy team is responsible for the funding revenue needs of the Museum, which for 2024-25 is c£800,000, making up approximately 36% of total income.
The post of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will deliver against personal targets toward this goal. Remaining income includes Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, NLHF funding, core earned income (admissions) and trading activities (retail and venue hire).
The Philanthropy and Partnerships team collaborates closely with the Director, Chair of Trustees and Development Consultants and across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support. Across a year the team raises vital income for exhibitions, learning and participation activities, events, capital projects, an established endowment fund and unrestricted revenue income.

Are you a dynamic and experienced Research Manager? Now is the time to join our Prospect Research Team.

If you have a proven track record of building positive relationships in teams, especially working with fundraisers to manage their portfolios of prospects and donors, this role is for you. You'll be part of a team providing a critical function to the high value and corporate partnerships teams and be an ambassador for new and innovative ways of working.

We're looking for someone who can help embed best practice, provide a high quality and meticulous service, be proactive and share new ideas and is comfortable providing and using insight and making data-driven decisions.

In this role, you'll use your outstanding research skills, great verbal and written communications skills, knowledge of the external environment. You'll have an adaptable and innovative approach to work, solving problems and working both collaboratively and independently as required.

You'll be reporting to the Senior Manager Prospect Research and working alongside the Prospect Researcher in delivering our high-quality research service to our high value and corporate partnership teams. You'll also take a leading role in managing some of the research projects, such as sector work, network mapping, and prospect identification.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Relationship Development Team, you'll develop our core services and adopt a test and learn approach for our key stakeholders.

The post is full-time and permanent, working 35 hours a week. It's hybrid, so can be based in London or from elsewhere and involve homeworking with some travel for team meetings and planning days, often in London.

Sense are in search of a Trusts and Statutory Manager to join our fantastic engagement team based in London. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering Sense’s strategy to reach 50,000 people with complex disabilities by 2026. Central to this strategy is our plan to deliver growth in our charitable projects and to build several new multi-million-pound hubs in Belfast, Leeds, and the Southwest. These hubs will significantly increase the number of people who can access our services, helping to bring forward the day when no-one is left of life.

Sense has a strong track record in Trusts fundraising over several decades. We have recently secured several 6 and 7 figure statutory partnerships, and we have talented colleagues in post, but there is room to grow, and Sense is investing. This year, we have also welcomed new corporate, major donor, prospect research, and special events colleagues to the team, and this new role is part of the same planned investment. 

This is a full-time, either hybrid or homebased, permanent role, working between home and our offices in King's Cross as required. We are open to hearing from candidates who want to work 5 days or 4 days a week
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a robust portfolio of prospects and supporters to meet income targets 
• Research and identify potential funders for unfunded Sense projects/concepts
• Work closely with key stakeholders, sector partners and leadership to grow pipelines, this includes monitoring of Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funding portals
• Lead on funding applications to a range of Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders, including coordinating inputs, writing narrative applications and application budgets

Skill, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Experience of generating income and achieving financial targets in a high value role
• Experience of working with a Trusts and Foundations pipeline, or a Statutory pipeline, making sure opportunities are identified, recorded, and taken forward 
• Direct experience of developing and submitting six figure plus proposals for Trusts Foundations, Statutory funders, or equivalent 
• Experience of working with Senior Volunteers and/or Leadership to engage prospects and supporters
• Able to write strong, persuasive narrative for six figure plus proposals and reports
• Able to communicate with passion and clarity 
• Comfortable representing the organisation and developing new leads and relationships
