Job Purpose

This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

As the Sports Manager, you will be responsible for The Sport Project. In your role, you will also manage relationships for grant givers and funders, including being responsible for budgets, reporting and reconciliations. Additionally you will support the team in the wider role out of the project across the homelessness community, at time this may involve helping to deliver a proportion of physical activity and helping to engage wider groups of participants and staff.

The National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP) Project Coordinator is an instrumental role for the College in which you will support the delivery of a high-quality national clinical audit along with supporting improvements in neonatal care for babies and their families.

As Audit Project Coordinator, you will coordinate the collection of high-quality audit data, and be responsible for coordinating sub-projects and spotlight audits.

Acting as the first point of contact for audit process and data enquiries received from hospital units, regional network leads and other stakeholder organisations, you will take responsibility for responding to each enquiry using your detailed knowledge of the audit methodology.

You will also respond to queries relating to the NNAP methodology and support paediatric services within NHS Health Boards, Trusts and Networks to understand and use NNAP results to inform quality improvement activities, as well as monitoring NNAP participation rates to define, execute and promote improvements to data submission processes.

Reporting to the NNAP Project Manager, you will conduct testing and quality assurance of audit software systems, liaising with software developers to evaluate, improve and update online data submission and reporting processes, whilst preparing updates to project webpages, user guidance and promotional materials for audit submission and participation. In addition, you will coordinate project webinars, workshops and national events for the NNAP and represent the NNAP at conferences to help promote NNAP activities.

You will also prepare and disseminate audit outputs and publications for different audiences, including audit commissioners and funders, children, young people and families, and NHS services participating in the audit.

Degree qualified or with equivalent experience in a mathematical or numerate discipline, you should have proven experience of producing high-quality written reports and promotional information, suitable for a range of audiences.

With strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, a high level of numeracy and the ability to interrogate large, complex datasets in Excel or statistical packages, you should have a background of working in a health-related or research setting.

Your project management experience along with your proven organisational skills and your ability to adopt an orderly and precise approach to work should ensure you are able to take personal responsibility for your own projects.

Demonstrable experience of engaging and communicating with stakeholders effectively, along with a proven understanding of information governance, data protection and confidentiality processes are essential.

 is one of our 24-hour supported accommodation projects; it houses 29 young people aged 16 to 25 for up to 2 years, offering high to medium support with a support team, night team and management based onsite. Situated near the town centre in Worthing, the project has strong links with and contributes to the local community.

We are looking for Supported Housing Bank Support Workers to join the Worthing Foyer team - you will bring your own individual and unique qualities to the team for the betterment of the team dynamic. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the services, along with supporting young people to develop living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking and securing employment and making wise decisions. When required you will record any incidents, accidents and safeguarding issues and share information with relevant colleagues. You will also undertake housing management and health and safety-related tasks as required. 

This role has a flexible range of shifts; the hours can include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Firstly, you will be passionate about being involved in the support and growth of young people. You will ideally have experience of working with a similar client group and a good understanding of the key risks, challenges and opportunities for young people, along with an awareness of all aspects of safeguarding.

You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, working in a client facing role, with the ability to self-motive to drive to deliver an outstanding service. You will be an effective communicator who is able to deliver robust, clear handovers and build strong relationships with other members of your team. In addition, you will have the ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.

Groundswell is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that focuses on peace-building, countering social harms and creating more resilient communities. We seek to do this through our trademarked ‘FIND-CONNECT-AMPLIFY’ model in which we identify local and existing community based organisations, connect them with wider community and statutory partners and amplify their efforts. We are active across the UK and are now seeking to expand our network of community connectors.

Salary – 32-34k depending upon experience, plus expenses.

Job Context

Groundswell Project is seeking to recruit community connectors to work on a Big Lottery funded project called ‘Together we are’. This project seeks to implement Groundswell’s ‘Find, Connect, Amplify’ approach in four cities in the UK, namely London, Manchester, Glasgow and Luton. These roles are tasked with mapping community based groups in their respective cities, offering them support, connecting them with local statutory partners and putting on events that allow said groups to expand their outreach in the local area. Ultimately, the aim of the role is to ensure local community groups are better connected, much more visible and, thus, more effective. We are currently recruiting for a Luton based connector.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1) Mapping the local landscape for community based organisations and producing a borough profile

2) Building strong relationships with local statutory and community based partners

3) Arrange meetings that connect local stakeholders in order to foster greater collaborative work

4) Arrange and promote a series of events in the local area that focus on relevant local themes

5) Help develop the Groundswell community mapper

6) Report directly to the ‘Together We Are’ project manager on all aspects of local work

The person must possess the following:

- A strong familiarity with the local area

- Experience of working with community based organisations

- Event management experience

- Competence with budget management

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Alignment with the vision and goals of the Groundswell Project
