About the role

For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been at the forefront of supporting people with kidney disease. From our early days when we campaigned to introduce donor cards in the UK, we have worked hard to support and represent the interests of everyone affected by kidney disease.

We are looking for a passionate, talented Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our ambitious, successful Fundraising team that has been growing non-legacy income 34% year-on-year since 2021 as we approach our new 5 year fundraising strategy.

This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio (target for this 12 months period is £378,000). There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with Senior Management Teams, other departments and stakeholders to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

The successful candidate will utilise their expert writing skills to shape those cases for support into compelling, high-quality proposals and reports.

Building relationships with a wide range of audiences including funders is key. Inspiring them to support kidney patients across the UK and engage with the kidney community, enabling them to tell their stories and better communicate how larger trust grants can make a real difference for people with chronic kidney disease.

A dynamic, self-motivated, ambitious and pro-active fundraiser is required for this role, demonstrating enthusiasm for the projects and services we are seeking funds to support.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets.

You will have demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.

You will also have a background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders, individual/major donors and senior stakeholders.

Experience of providing excellent supporter care, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders is a must for this role.

Key responsibilities

Research and process management

• Work closely with our Director of Patient Support Services (Patient Grants, Hospital Grants, Advocacy and Counselling) to fully understand our work, and with our Director of Finance to fully understand the costs of delivering our work
• Build strong cases for support, ensuring that you have all the information needed to create compelling proposals and reports for high and mid-value funders
• Research and identify prospective trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies
• Grow and maintain a strong trust funding pipeline, creating new trust prospects for our priority funding areas
• Develop our long-term trusts and foundations strategy, and agree ongoing budgets and targets for this income stream
• Maintain accurate records including tracking and analysing opportunities, results, and outcomes

Fundraising 

• Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential to deliver five- and six-figure grants
• Work with colleagues across Kidney Care UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality trust and foundation bids for a range of short, medium and long term projects
• Develop relationships with the Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders across the charity maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
• Champion ways of working with the kidney community to enhance your fundraising approaches
• Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view Kidney Care UK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met

Reporting 

• Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
• Alongside the Director of Finance prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
• Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
• Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities

Key tasks

Cross-Income Stream Support

• Support the delivery of activity and appeals across major donor, corporate, legacy, and individual giving programmes.
• Identify and research prospective funders, including trusts and corporate partners. Assist in bid development, including desk research, gathering case studies, and impact data.
• Support the development and delivery of materials, campaigns, and digital content.

Events & Community

• Support the delivery and evaluation of in-house and third-party events.

Supporter Care & Communications

• Manage the inbox and respond to supporter enquiries.

Learning with Parents supports families to have positive learning interactions together and leads the sector to learn what works in tackling inequality. In partnership with over 160 primary schools, we support families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. Families are motivated to sustain and enjoy frequent and positive interactions at home.

We are working to improve parental engagement across the sector, by producing evidence of parents’ impact and generating insights into how schools can best support them. Learnings are disseminated through the Parental Engagement Forum and amplified through the Fair Education Alliance.

The role

Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Interim Finance Manager will lead on financial matters and be expected to provide critical financial information, insightful analysis and timely reporting to facilitate the growth of the Charity.

Being a financial ‘all rounder’, there is a real opportunity to contribute to the way the Charity operates by instilling sound financial operations and providing meaningful financial reporting. The role provides an opportunity to lead the finance function and will suit a progressive accountant looking for this kind of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Fundraising

• Identify, develop and secure corporate partnerships, including Charity of the Year opportunities, sponsorships, payroll giving, and in-kind support.

• Prepare compelling proposals, pitches and presentations to secure new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.

• Act as an ambassador for the charity at local events, deliver talks and presentations, inspiring people to support our work.
• Support and encourage DIY/community fundraisers, providing resources and guidance to maximise income.

Events

• Plan and deliver fundraising events from concept to completion, managing budgets, logistics and marketing timelines to ensure strong ROI.
• Recruit participants for charity-led and third-party events, including running challenges and bespoke campaigns such as I’m a Director, Get Me Out of Here!.

Communications and Stewardship

• Work with the Fundraising and Communications teams to create engaging fundraising materials, content for social media, newsletters, and supporter updates.

Data, Reporting and Administration

• Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, producing reports and data analysis to monitor progress and inform decision-making.

Person Specification

Essential

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in fundraising within the charity sector
• Proven track record of generating income for corporate partnerships and from community fundraising groups such as Rotary clubs.
• Strong relationship management skills, with experience of building and sustaining partnerships.

The Role

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don't have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

We were founded as a Welsh organisation. However, in January 2024 we expanded in to Phase 1 of England (Chesire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somserset) and in July 2025, we expanded in to Phase 2 (Merseyside, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong track record in fundraising. This is both a hands-on role and is pivotal to the ongoing success of our fundraising targets. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and being responsible for a small team of fundraisers, you will lead and motivate the team to reach their full potential.

Main duties:

Management & Service:

• To line manage the regional fundraising team
• To execute the organisation’s business plan
• To assist in the planning of any expansion into England, managing any staff recruited during the early days of growth
• To establish fundraising communities by recruiting volunteers, engage with corporate partners and develop and maintain relationships with volunteers.
• To monitor branding and to ensure a consistent approach regarding literature, publications, promotions, partnerships, and social media

Salary: Starting salary of £32,000 per annum

Contract type: 12-month, full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it's auto-enrolment obligations. Mileage: A fixed rate allowance is payable for agreed mileage undertaken on 2wish business in a private vehicle, over and above your usual journey to your workplace/s.

This post will include a lot of home working, with the expectation to the successful candidate to travel to 2wish Head Office minimally once a month. The role of the Direct Marketing Executive is a varied one. Working with different teams and suppliers, you will be supporting and delivering direct marketing campaigns across a range of media channels.
