Impact Communications & Content Strategist

We are looking for a volunteer Impact Communications & Content Strategist to help shape how we communicate our work globally.

Red Diamond Compost develops regenerative agricultural solutions by converting organic and invasive biomass into high-performance inputs that rebuild soil health and strengthen climate resilience. Our work includes field trials, farmer training through the Journey to 1000 Acres initiative, and international research collaborations.

This role will focus on guiding our overall content and messaging strategy using a “pillar-to-micro” content model, where long-form content (field updates, talks, research insights) is structured and repurposed into multiple formats across platforms.

Responsibilities may include:

• Identifying strong content opportunities from our work (field trials, research, insights)
• Developing clear messaging and storytelling frameworks
• Helping structure content for multi-platform distribution (LinkedIn, video, blog)
• Guiding how technical results are communicated to broader audiences
• Supporting consistency in brand voice and positioning

This role is ideal for someone interested in climate innovation, storytelling, and helping translate real-world impact into clear, compelling narratives.

At One Degree, our mentors, ambassadors, and teachers are more than just volunteers—they’re lifelines for students often overlooked in their schools and communities. By offering direction, encouragement, and a sense of possibility, our volunteers transform lives while experiencing the profound reward of making a real, tangible impact.

Most of our mentors are young professionals, bringing passion, patience, and empathy to help GCSE/Year 11 students (ages 15–16) navigate their challenges. These volunteers serve as role models, guiding students who might otherwise feel left behind toward brighter futures.

To foster meaningful connections and provide continuity, we ask volunteers to commit to at least three in-person or online sessions per year. This ensures students build trust and form bonds with the people dedicated to helping them succeed.

What time commitments are required?

Preparation

1. Mentor registration (2 minutes)

Help the RAF Museum make its photograph collection available to the public.

What is the role?

The RAF Museum has acquired large collections of photographs showing aviation at the end of the 20th century. Help is needed with the digitization and cataloguing of the collections with the aim of getting them online. It is also hoped these images can be used in the new exhibition being prepared for the RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme and will add value to the project.

The RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme MDP comprises a major regional engagement programme supported by a new collections hub, learning centre, contemporary exhibition and co-curated interpretive interventions across the site.

What will I be doing?

This role will involve tasks such as

· Sorting the collections and storing in conservation grade materials,

· Digitization of the transparencies and negatives,

· Cataloguing and indexing of the images,

· Filing the digital images according to Museum policy and updating the digital asset management system,

· Providing images for the team developing content for the new exhibition at the Museum’s Midland site.

This role is perfect for you if you…

· Have a good knowledge of 20th century aviation,

· Can work independently,

· Seek accuracy and attention to detail,

• You are interested in gaining experience working with the Archive and Library collections

How much time would I need to commit?

There are two collections needing volunteers, Monday to Thursday, 10am to 5pm with an hour for lunch. Ideally each volunteer will allocate one day a week but we can be flexible.

About the Role:

CARAS is looking for volunteer Football Assistants to support our Football sessions on Mondays, 5.30-7pm in Balham.

Football coaching sessions are led by Fulham FC Kicks programme weekly, supported by CARAS volunteers to offer welcome to young people.

We believe this makes them uniquely placed to lead on environmental and ethical issues. For this reason the People & Planet University League has been running since 2007 and has been published by high-profile media partners such as The Guardian (2021, 2022. 2023, 2024, 2025), The BBC, and whose data is used in the Sunday Time Good University Guide.

Volunteers will research publicly available university documents and assess universities against our marking criteria, which cover a wide range of climate and social justice issues including decarbonisation, fossil fuel divestment, ethical banking, workers’ rights and environmental management among others. This work will help to incentivise the university sector towards taking immediate and appropriate action on the climate crisis and upholding the rights and wellbeing of all people internationally.

• Two 25 hour weeks of remote work in July and August.

Volunteers can manage their own time flexibly and will receive support from People & Planet, but must meet task deadlines on a weekly basis and attend a short daily meeting. Volunteers are free to work evenings and weekends, but please note People & Planet operates a 4 day week from 9-5.

• One induction session the week prior to your 2 week engagement.

• Completion of a self-access standardisation activity prior to the start of your engagement.
