Upcycle Africa delivers an integrated, circular solution that transforms plastic pollution into affordable housing, dignified jobs, and sustainable local economies.

Africa faces interconnected crises of plastic pollution, unsafe housing, and high youth unemployment. In Uganda, hundreds of tonnes of plastic are generated daily, with most ending up in drainage channels or burned, leading to toxic emissions and frequent flooding. Simultaneously, millions of low-income households live in homes vulnerable to extreme weather, while the youngest population in the world struggles to find formal, dignified employment.

Upcycle Africa tackles these challenges through a community-led circular model. We establish collection hubs where youth and women are trained to process waste into raw materials. These materials are then used to manufacture eco-bricks and modular components for durable, flood-resistant, and thermally efficient homes. To date, we have diverted over 3 million plastic bottles from the environment, constructed 300 eco-homes sheltering 1,800 people, and integrated 2,500 waste collectors into safe, green value chains.

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and strategic Social Media & Digital Marketing Manager to help elevate Upcycle Africa’s global presence and strengthen our visibility among investors, partners, and impact communities.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and manage a consistent social media strategy
• Create engaging content (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, etc.)
• Share impact stories, project updates, and milestones
• Support campaign visibility (including Change 100)
• Improve engagement and audience growth

Ideal Background

• Experience managing social media for brands or startups
• Strong storytelling and content creation skills

A bit about this role...

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

CHASE Africa is a UK-based international NGO that supports local partners in East Africa to improve health and wellbeing in marginalised rural communities. We are looking for a Trustee with finance skills, to replace our current Treasurer. You will provide scrutiny and oversight of the work of CHASE Africa, with a particular focus on financial issues.  You will use your financial knowledge and experience to monitor the financial administration of the charity and report to the Board of Trustees on its state of financial health and provide the board with the confidence and knowledge to make good strategic decisions.

Since its inception 12 years ago, CHASE Africa has grown from scratch to an income in 2025 of over £830,000 – delivering over 1.5 million healthcare and family planning services to often isolated rural communities. We have a strong and highly motivated staff team and a thriving network of local partners that has expanded from Kenya into Uganda and, later this year, Tanzania.

CHASE Africa’s projects have already brought healthcare and empowerment to tens of thousands of lives, particularly for women and girls, mitigating poverty and helping protect local environments.It has the capacity and opportunity to greatly extend its impact – both geographically and in terms of numbers reached.

We are a small but dedicated team based in Somerset, committed to a collaborative approach to partnership. We're currently going through an exciting period of transition and growth, with a new CEO in 2022, a new charitable structure in 2023, and a new Finance Manager at the start of 2026. Your role will be vital in helping us achieve our future goals.

The Role

• Liaise with CEO and Trustees to ensure the financial viability of the organisation’s strategy 
• Advise on the financial implications of CA’s strategic plan (3 year) 
• Present CA’s financial position and broader context at Trustees Board meetings 
• Support the finance manager with the production of an annual budget 
• Ensure that the Board is aware of its financial duties and responsibilities and the need to comply with all legislation 
• Take a lead in interpreting financial data for fellow Board members 
• Ensure that all financial policies, procedures and the appointment of external financial advisors are reviewed on a regular basis
• Ensure relevant financial policies are in place as required by the charity commission 
• Be willing to be available to support the charity’s CEO and Senior Finance Manager as needed 
• Review the monthly management accounts report and cashflow with the CEO and finance manager 
• Liaise with senior staff to ensure financial reports are user friendly for non-finance trustees

About You

• Good background in financial management and analysis
• Able to communicate financial information clearly and to people with different levels of financial and data literacy. 
• Knowledge and experience of finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations. 
• Have an excellent ability to interpret financial information and the confidence to raise questions and challenge 
• Have a good understanding of, or be willing to learn, the rules and regulation around charity finance 
• Have the ability to think creatively and strategically, exercising good and impartial judgement 
• Knowledge of current accounting processes, tools and procedures 
• High proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint for analysis and presentation 
• Understands and accepts the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of Trustees, and the difference between governance functions and management functions  
• High level of integrity and sound judgement 
• Commitment to CA’s vision, purpose and culture and its way of working 
• Able and willing to devote the necessary time to the role 

Additional Desirable 

• CCAB/CIMA qualified professional or qualified by experience in financial management
• Awareness and understanding of the campaigning world and the health community in developing countries.

About SUNSHINE

SUNSHINE is a small but ambitious grassroots charity on a mission to reduce loneliness and help people feel truly seen, valued and connected. Every week, our volunteers bring warmth, joy and human connection to people who feel isolated, overlooked or alone.

We’re now looking for a Loneliness Awareness Lead — someone who can help us shine a light on the realities of loneliness, share the stories of the people we support (with dignity and care), and spread SUNSHINE’s message of hope across London and beyond.

Your work will help people understand that loneliness is not a personal failure — it’s a human experience. Your storytelling will help people feel less ashamed, less invisible, and more connected. Your leadership will help SUNSHINE reach the people who need us most.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Raising Awareness of Loneliness Across London

• Lead campaigns that highlight the emotional, social and practical realities of loneliness.

• Share insights, facts and stories that help the public understand the issue with compassion.

• Help shift the narrative from stigma to empathy, from silence to connection.

2. Telling the Stories of the People We Support

• Work with participants (with full consent and care) to share their experiences.

• Create warm, respectful, human‑centred stories that honour their courage.

• Show the impact SUNSHINE has on confidence, wellbeing and connection.

3. Creating Content That Spreads SUNSHINE’s Message

• Develop blogs, interviews, social posts, short films or written stories.

• Work with our Creative Volunteers to bring stories to life visually.

• Help build a public voice that feels hopeful, inclusive and emotionally resonant.

4. Building Relationships With Media & Community Platforms

• Identify opportunities to share SUNSHINE’s work through local press, podcasts, newsletters and community networks.

• Represent SUNSHINE with warmth, clarity and movement‑energy.

• Help us become a recognised voice in the loneliness and wellbeing space.

5. Supporting SUNSHINE’s Growth & Impact

• Ensure our messaging reflects the lived experiences of the people we serve.

• Help shape campaigns that inspire volunteers, partners and supporters.

• Strengthen SUNSHINE’s presence across London as we grow.

This Role Is for You If…

• You’re a natural storyteller who cares deeply about people.

• You want to help change the way society understands loneliness.

• You enjoy writing, interviewing, content creation or awareness‑raising.

• You’re based in or connected to London.

• You want to help build a new charity from the ground up.

Practical Details

• Location: Hybrid/Flexible — remote with occasional London meetups.

• Time: Approx. 3-5 Hours per week (This is a fully flexible volunteer role with no set hours)
