Whether you're cheering on runners from the side-lines, helping to run a tombola or collecting vital funds – there’s a role for everyone.

You'll be part of a passionate team, supporting our Fundraising and Events Team to create memorable experiences that raise vital funds for St Barnabas, Chestnut Tree House, and Martlets.

Mulberry Cancer Support, is looking for new volunteers with flexible availability to help us set up and run our stall at a variety of fun community fundraising & enagement events, mainly in West London - Hounslow, Richmond & Ealing areas - and occasionally at our Centre in Isleworth. Come and sell rafle tickets, inspire donations, hold a collection bucket, give out leaflets and engage with the public at our own events and at fetes, fairs and stadium days.

Volunteers must be age 18+. Most events take place March - July and October - December.

Across the UK, our 65 local branches work with disabled people to help them live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our volunteer Fundraisers use their organisational and people skills, as well as creativity and a sense of fun, to raise vital funds for their local branch.

What the role involves

This is a varied role that each branch can do a little differently, but it may include the following responsibilities, with potential for additional fundraising opportunities:

· Organising fundraising events big and small

· Identifying and helping to apply for local grants

What you’ll need for this role

· An interest in fundraising – prior experience isn’t a must

· Able to work independently from home

· Willing to attend meetings of your local branch

· A commitment to our aims and values

You’ll also need to complete the induction checklist and a reference check.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Event Planning:

• Event Design & Execution:

• Budget Management:

  • Manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Track expenses, negotiate vendor contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, venues, and partners to ensure successful event execution.

  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to meet quality standards and timelines.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the event planning team to achieve excellence in execution.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

• Event Marketing & Promotion:

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events, including developing promotional materials, social media campaigns, and press outreach.

  • Ensure a strong event presence across digital and physical platforms to maximize attendance and engagement.

• Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Measure event success through post-event reporting, feedback collection, and KPIs.

  • Use insights to refine event planning processes and improve future events.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Innovative: Demonstrated ability to drive growth through innovative and data-driven marketing strategies

• Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Ontario, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.

Please Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position. Volunteers can claim expenses for food, travel, and equipment in line with the Expenses Policy.

This fundraising role is enjoyable, very varied and could involve tasks such as:

· Helping out on a stall for a few hours at a fair.

· Raising awareness of HOLG at corporate/commercial partner events.

· Helping out on one of our social fundraisers such as quiz nights, theatre nights, concerts etc.

· Running a raffle or tombola.

· Being an ambassador to raise awareness to the work of HOLG.

· Prepare, set up and take down for events (including gazebos, etc).

The list is not exhaustive and will often depend on what fundraising opportunities we have through the year!

We are also keen to establish a team of helpers to identify locations and distribute and manage our collections boxes at restaurants, shops, pubs, leisure centres – indeed, anywhere that would be willing to host!

Cheerer Volunteering at the Great North run

Would you like to have a great day out, while supporting Shelter’s fundraisers?

Information about the role

The main thing we need you to do is cheer! You will be a vital part of race day, supporting 170 Shelter runners from the side lines. You’ll need to help create a high energy, friendly atmosphere, motivating everyone on race day to do their best.

Volunteering at this event is also an opportunity to have fun, meet new people and experience some wonderful community spirit whilst contributing towards our mission.

Date: Sunday 13 September 2026

Time: Half a day – approx. 9am – 2pm

Location: Newcastle/Gateshead – along the race route

Volunteer role: Fundraising Lead Volunteer

Commitment level: Flexible 2-4 hours a week

Location: Office based Stamford & attending events

Purpose of the Voluntary role:

Evergreen purpose is to promote healthy ageing and positive attitudes towards older people; seeking relevant ways to honour old age and if needed, to serve through Advocacy, Friendship and practical support and our vision is for Stamford, the Deepings, Bourne and the surrounding villages to be seen as a great place to grow old. Our work is supported and funded by our ‘Friends of Evergreen’ – local individuals and businesses whose support enables us to deliver our volunteer led services which so many rely on locally. The Friends of Evergreen Lead Volunteer is a key role that supports, promotes and grows our Friends of Evergreen.

The Fundraiser is a part-time volunteer role, based in Stamford, responsible for generating income to support Evergreen Care Trust’s services for older adults. Day-to-day tasks include cultivating relationships with donors and supporters, and identifying new fundraising opportunities with local businesses and community groups. The role involves preparing grant applications and funding proposals, maintaining accurate donor records, and monitoring income against targets. The individual will also analyse fundraising performance, report on outcomes, and contribute ideas to improve future initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to effectively convey the charity's mission and engage with donors, both verbally and in writing.

Creating and maintaining relationships with supporters, sponsors, and partners.

Ability to connect with donors and understand their motivations for giving.

Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments within the charity.

Understanding of the relevant aspects of the Fundraising Code and data protection regulations

Key relationships:

 Working effectively with other volunteers, trustees, other staff including the Marketing & Events Lead and Volunteer Services Manager and Friends of Evergreen admin support.

Developing strong relationships with current and new Friends of Evergreen

Skills, Qualifications and experience required:

Excellent Communication skills

Able to build relationships with current and new Friends of Evergreen

Able to represent Evergreen at events and meeting new supporters

Charity fundraising experience would be a bonus as would experience in a relevant role such as business development, sales, or events.

Familiarity with fundraising methods would also be a bonus, such as grant writing, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.

Training and support required:

Evergreen Induction Training (half day Saturday)
Mandatory Online Safeguarding training
Introduction training sessions to Friends of Evergreen role
Invitation to attend relevant training courses as and when they are arranged
On going support from Volunteer Services Manager

Availability of parking at work location:

There is parking at Evergreen’s office

A Basic DBS is required for this role.

You’ll support admin, coordination, communication and behind‑the‑scenes tasks that keep our fundraising programme running smoothly. Perfect for organised, detail‑focused volunteers who love helping teams shine.

Time Commitment & Availability

These roles are operational volunteer roles, not trustee positions.

We keep things flexible and human.

• A few hours per week, fully flexible.

• Must be available at least 2 evenings per month.

• Must be available at least one weekend daytime per quarter (for fundraising events, community activities, donor engagement and campaign support).

We’ll work around your life, your schedule and your energy — but we do need a reliable, committed team who can help us raise the funds that make SUNSHINE possible.
