The Landguard and Felixstowe Conservation Trust seeks an experienced and inspirational Chair to lead its Board and support the long-term development of the nationally significant Landguard Peninsula, home to the Grade I listed Landguard Fort, Nature Reserve, Museum and Bird Observatory.

Welcoming around 500,000 visitors annually, the Trust works with volunteers, staff and partner organisations to conserve and enhance this unique heritage and wildlife asset.

You will bring strategic leadership, governance experience, excellent communication skills and a commitment to charitable values.

About Breck Foundation

Breck Foundation is a UK child online safety charity founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Everything we do is driven by a simple but urgent mission: to prevent this from ever happening again.

Since our founding, we have reached more than 335,000 people in person or on video, including over 276,000 children and young people. Through our school programmes, professional training, parent engagement and policy advocacy, we work across whole communities to build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to keep children safe online.

We are now preparing to launch a new growth strategy, and this is a genuinely exciting moment to be joining us.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual to serve as our new Chair of Trustees, following the stepping down of our current Chair after three years of dedicated service.

As Chair, you will lead the Board of Trustees and work in close partnership with the Chief Executive to provide strategic oversight and governance of the charity. You will play a central role in shaping and delivering our new growth strategy, helping us extend our reach, deepen our impact and grow our influence on the policy landscape.

This is a voluntary role with a time commitment of approximately 1 day per month, to cover quarterly Board meetings, sub-committee involvement, regular contact with the Chief Executive and occasional attendance at Foundation events.

• A genuine commitment to children and young people's safety and wellbeing online

• Attending and assisting with the logistics of events; this can include setting up, clearing down, selling raffle tickets and refreshments, directing traffic and helping the people we support enjoy the atmosphere of the day

• Offering ideas for fundraising or fun things to do! 

• Liaising with Dimensions Community Connections Officer

SolidariTee is an international charity run and led entirely by volunteers who are students and young people. We're working to make lasting change in the way refugees and other people forced to flee persecution and violence are treated, through a combination of awareness-raising, advocacy, and fundraising to support grassroots NGOs providing vital refugee legal aid and mental health support.

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Central and Leadership teams!

Our Central Team includes students and other young people from around the UK and works together to coordinate SolidariTee’s core functions and organise opportunities to bring our volunteers and supporters together. Our Leadership Team provides overall coordination and oversight to the activities of our Central Team and Regional Teams, and it is a great opportunity to be involved with leading the direction of the SolidariTee movement on a national level.

The Wardrobe Officer should know everything about the costumes and resources in the wardrobe, including what there is on offer, what sizes there are and how they are used/worn. They should keep an accurate log of which costumes are used, where they are and who they are used by. They should maintain the costumes as needed, including washing and repairing. They shall be responsible for quality control, making sure that costumes are up to standard and are being used correctly. As part of this, they should monitor pictures from events and advise on hair, make up and clothes based upon these.

We are looking for a Community Engagement & Accountability Officer who is responsible for assisting in the implementation of integration activities and projects and ensuring that the needs and opinions of Second Tree community members are used to guide our work.

Your role would include:

• Creating timelines and coordinating plans for community engagement events

• Summarising relevant data collection in reports and project deliverables

• Communicating with community members and building trusting relationships

• Managing the organisation of proposals and other documents created by the CEA team

• Maintaining necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials for the CEA team

• Researching information and gathering data necessary for community reporting

• Working with the wider Second Tree team to ensure that all community engagement events and projects align with organisational and programme strategies

• Supporting the CEA team by ensuring good levels of engagement with the community during activities and projects.

You should be able to:

• Be flexible with changing approaches and processes dependent on adjusting needs and contexts

• Take initiative and show high motivation

• Oversee the delivery of program activities and the completion of vital administrative and logistical tasks
