The Faith Hope & Enterprise Company Ltd (FHE) is an innovative registered charity operating across Derby City, Amber Valley, and the Derbyshire Dales. Our mission is to provide high-quality supported housing and bespoke mentorship to individuals facing severe social exclusion. We walk alongside those recovering from addiction, navigating mental health challenges, adjusting to life after offending, or rebuilding after general homelessness.

Operating from our base in Mackworth, Derby, we run a network of shared houses and self-contained flats which we either own or lease from private landlords. We deliver highly tailored Personal Development Plans to give our residents the practical life skills, confidence, and community networks they need to transition successfully into fully independent living.

The Role

 FHE is entering an exciting period of strategic development. We are looking to appoint new Trustees to join our friendly, dedicated Board.

As a Trustee, you will ensure that the charity remains financially resilient, legally compliant, and true to its core values of trust, respect, and kindness. Working closely with our Chief Executive and the executive team, you will help shape our future housing strategy, strengthen our local partnerships, and maximize the social impact of our enterprise model.

Who We Are Looking For

 We welcome applications from individuals who share our passion for tackling social exclusion and homelessness. To complement the existing skills on our Board, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background or professional qualification in any of the following fields:

• Social Housing & Property Management: Experience in residential lettings, property maintenance, or estate management to advise on our housing stock.
• Finance & Accounting: Fully or part-qualified accountants who can provide oversight of budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasting.
• Legal, Risk & Compliance: Expertise in charity law, employment law, health & safety, or housing regulations.
• Health & Social Care/Addiction Recovery: Insights from the statutory or voluntary sectors to help guide our holistic support frameworks.

Prior experience as a trustee is not essential. We are fully committed to diversifying our board and warmly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of the challenges our residents face. Comprehensive induction and peer mentoring will be provided.

Time Commitment

 Meetings: 4 to 6 formal evening Board meetings per year, held in Derby.

• Work: One annual strategy full-day review, plus occasional involvement based on your professional background.
• Ad-hoc Support: Occasional advisory support to the executive team via email or phone.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Working alongside your allocated outreach development officer in the facilitation of British Liver Trust patient support groups.

2. Setting up and facilitating both online and face to face support groups as agreed with your allocated outreach development officer.

3. Act as a point of contact for patients attending your allocated support groups.

4. Engaging with patients and families affected by liver disease through peer mentoring to inspire hope, build confidence and help people self- manage their condition.

5. Acting as a peer mentor supporting new individuals who are joining our support services.

TREASURER – ALL NATIONS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (ANCC)

The College is entering an exciting new chapter, moving from a single UK campus to a global delivery model of digital learning, hybrid courses and partnerships with churches and colleges around the world, so it can reach many more students, in many more places, than ever before.

This is a genuinely pivotal moment to join as Treasurer. You'll help the Board build the financial model for a distributed, international college, working closely with the CEO and Head of Finance at the exact point when decisions about resourcing, risk and investment will define the College's next decade of global mission impact.

As Treasurer, you will:

• Help fund and resource an ambitious global expansion of the College's mission training
• Advise the Board on financial strategy as it builds a new international operating model
• Oversee financial systems, controls and risk management
• Liaise with auditors and ensure legal and regulatory compliance
• Chair the Finance & Resources Committee, meeting quarterly online

We're seeking a prayerful, financially astute leader with strong judgement and a heart for global mission. 

The Board meets three times a year in a hybrid format, with the hope of gathering trustees in person once a year.

Families supported by Young Lives vs Cancer are going through some of the most challenging times of their lives. At Young Lives vs Cancer, we get that. We are a charity that helps children and young people (aged 0-24), and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them.  

As an Events Coordinator in the South West Social Work team, you will plan and coordinate a range of events throughout the year; working directly with the families we support and partner organisations. we hope to run events across the region including end‑of‑treatment celebration days, sibling days, festive events and bereavement support events 

What you give as a volunteer goes far beyond practical support; it’s reassurance, kindness, and hope at a time when it’s needed most. Your time and commitment can help make the cancer journey a little lighter and leave a lasting, positive impact on the families you support. 

What you’ll be doing 

We hope to carry out regular events across the whole region. Your help will be invaluable in achieving this. Your tasks will include: 

• Helping to organise, co-ordinate and run events. 

• Communication with invitees and organisations involved in the planning and facilitation of events. 

• Attendance of events as a welcoming presence; helping people feel comfortable, supported, and gently connected to one another. 

• Working alongside social workers as a valued member of the team and reporting back to your volunteer manager.

Meet and Greet Volunteer (Tea & Coffee Service)

Location: Mental Health Service
Commitment: Flexible shifts available
Responsible to: Volunteer Coordinator / Service Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate volunteer to support people accessing our mental health service. As a Meet and Greet Volunteer, you will be one of the first points of contact for visitors, helping to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment.

The role also includes serving tea, coffee, and refreshments to service users, carers, visitors, and staff, helping to promote a sense of community and wellbeing within the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome service users, visitors, carers, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
• Help people feel comfortable and supported when they arrive at the service.
• Offer directions and information about facilities within the building.
• Prepare and serve tea, coffee, and light refreshments.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming refreshment area.
• Engage in friendly conversation and provide a listening ear where appropriate.
• Promote an inclusive and non-judgemental atmosphere for everyone.
• Report any concerns or issues to the appropriate member of staff.
• Follow all relevant policies, including confidentiality, health and safety, and infection prevention procedures.

Skills and Qualities Required

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary rescues horses and ponies that have been abandoned, neglected or abused.

Together with our supporters, we ensure that horses and ponies have a sanctuary for life. Most horses and ponies are given care for life through our network of knowledgeable carers. Those horses and ponies with more complex needs are cared for in our peaceful sanctuaries.
