Grant Writer Volunteer Support

Role Description
Join HeadGym Foundation as a volunteer and be part of a team striving to improve the health outcomes and well-being of children in Cambodia.
What you’ll do:

• Conduct Research on grant opportunities
• Identify potential funders and grant-making organizations.
• Maintain our pipeline of prospects, applications, and deadlines.
• Drafting compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and supporting materials.
• Support the Executive Director on stewardship of foundation relationships to strengthen long-term partnerships.

Skills we’re looking for:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, strategic thinker with attention to detail.
• Proactive, learner mindset with a can-do changemaker attitude.
• Previous experience in donor/foundation research, database management, or proposal writing is a plus.

Role Purpose

To create content for AuDHD UK’s social media platforms by planning, creating, and sharing engaging content that raises awareness, fosters community, and supports the charity’s mission.

What will you be doing?

Content Creation 

• Design and produce creative, accessible social media posts, including graphics, videos, and written content.
• Schedule and publish posts across platforms such as Instagram, Threads, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
• Ensure consistency in branding, tone and messaging across all social media platforms. 

Planning 

• Help to maintain and update  a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
• Research social media trends, audience interests, and relevant topics to inform content.
• Stay up to date with platform algorithms and best practices. 

Additional Duties

• Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Lead and other teams to align social media with broader campaigns and events.
• Stay informed about social media best practices and platform updates.
• Support the development of an inclusive and welcoming online community.

Essential Skills & Attributes

• Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or bid writing (charity sector experience desirable).
• Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret funding criteria and tailor proposals accordingly.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Analytical mindset for tracking and reporting on outcomes.
• Commitment to AuDHD UK’s mission and values.
• Lived experience of AuDHD or neurodivergence (desirable).
• Must be a UK resident as the role will require a DBS check

And that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a volunteer Charity Administrator & Board Secretary to support our operations and ensure strong governance from day one.

Just a few hours a week — but with the power to shape the professionalism, structure, and effectiveness of our charity.

What this role is all about

You’ll help us:

• Manage the day‑to‑day admin that keeps the charity running smoothly

• Support the Board of Trustees with agendas, minutes, and governance tasks

• Maintain accurate records, policies, and compliance documents

• Coordinate meetings and ensure we follow good practice

• Help set up simple, effective administrative systems

• Act as the non‑trustee Board Secretary, ensuring clarity and accountability

• Support the founders as we move from set‑up to launch and beyond

Your work will help us stay organised, compliant, and ready to deliver life‑changing support across East London.
