Epilepsy Action is a national charity with a bold vision: to create a world without limits for people with epilepsy. In 2024 we launched an ambitious new strategy to grow our income and extend the support we offer. After a successful start, we are ready for the next stage in the strategy, and we are looking for new trustees to join our Board and help turn our ambition into lasting impact.

Purpose of the Role
The role of a trustee is to share the Board’s collective responsibility for the effective governance and leadership of the charity, setting our strategic direction and major policies in accordance with our objectives, vision, mission and values.
Epilepsy Action (registered as the British Epilepsy Association) is both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. As such, trustees are both charity trustees and company directors and have the statutory and legal duties which these roles impose.
This is a voluntary (unpaid) role with a three-year term of office, renewable for up to two consecutive terms.
You need to be able to commit approximately 6–12 days per year, including:
- Four Board meetings per annum, plus meeting preparation
- Subcommittee meetings (if applicable)
- Strategy days, training, and occasional events
Meetings are a combination of hybrid and fully remote, with an annual in-person meeting in September in Leeds. Overnight accommodation will be booked for trustees and travelling expenses reimbursed for in–person meetings.

About Us:
Evolve Counselling is a long-established charitable social enterprise, providing low cost, affordable or funded mental health counselling to adults in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. Our counselling community is made up of 50 – 60 qualified self-employed practitioners, working part-time. We deliver talking therapies to adults – online and in person. Our service delivers around five hundred counselling sessions per month to a broad range of individuals, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access counselling support. Evolve also provides supervision, reflective practice, critical incident support, and mental health awareness and related training, to organisations and businesses large and small.
Who we’re Looking For:
Our Trustee Board is currently drawn from the counselling and therapies community, plus commercial, public sector, and other charity backgrounds. Now, with crucial development of the CIO ahead, we are looking for new members to expand the Board to its maximum ten places and to gain skills and insight from an equal, diverse and inclusive group that takes in business skills, knowledge of charities, expertise in health services, and experience of not-for-profit leadership and finances, to make growth plans a reality.
The Board will keep us on track with good governance through oversight of our work and will also help our new CEO to secure a sound financial base from which to grow our operations to meet the ever-increasing demand for our services.

The BFWG Charitable Foundation, an educational charity that supports the advancement of women graduates through postgraduate grants, is seeking to appoint up to two Trustees, including a Chair, to join its Board.
Trustees
As the terms of office for two trustees come to an end, FfWG is seeking to appoint two Trustees to join its board. With the current Chair’s term ending in July this year, FfWG is looking to appoint a new Chair. About BFWG Charitable Foundation
(Trading as Funds for Women Graduates (FfWG))
Funds for Women Graduates (FfWG) is an educational charity whose objective is promoting the higher education and wider learning of women graduates. We do this by awarding grants to assist with the living expenses of women postgraduate students, typically in the final year of work towards a PhD or equivalent degree.
BACKGROUND OF FfWG
FfWG is the trading name of the BFWG Charitable Foundation. It was originally incorporated in 1925 as the Crosby Hall Association Limited. It changed its name to BFWG Charitable Foundation in 1993. It became a registered charity in 1971. In 2025, the Charity converted to a CIO.
Although FfWG has been awarding grants since 1993 this was not its original purpose. Its original objective was to run a hall of residence, Crosby Hall, on behalf of its parent company the British Federation of Women Graduates (BFWG). This it did until 1992. Crosby Hall was sold, and the money raised by the sale of the lease has been invested. The proceeds provide funds to offer grants to women graduate scholars.
GRANT MAKING
FfWG offers grants to women graduates to help with their living expenses, but not fees, while registered for study or research at an approved institution of higher education in Great Britain. The criteria for awarding grants are the proven needs of the applicants and their academic calibre.
The first grant was awarded in 1993. Since then, well over two thousand grants have been made to women in need who aspire to help themselves and others by completing higher degrees covering a wide range of subjects. FfWG not only helps women from Great Britain but also women from all over the world who come to study or undertake research in Great Britain. Geographically FfWG covers England, Wales and Scotland. This is historic and is because the Irish Federation of University Women works across the whole of Ireland.
The two main types of grants offered by FfWG are Foundation Grants and Emergency Grants. Foundation Grants are offered to women graduates in their final year of a PhD or DPhil. Emergency Grants are offered to women postgraduates who face unforeseen financial crises whilst engaged in study or research.
In addition to the Foundation and Emergency Grants, approximately every third year FfWG provides the funds to Graduate Women International (GWI) to offer a fellowship, the value of this is £6,000. It is known as the FfWG Fellowship.
Up to two Theodora Bosanquet Bursaries are offered annually to women graduates whose research in History or English Literature requires a short residency in London in the summer.

Prison-based volunteers are the backbone of Fine Cell Work (FCW). Supported by the Fine Cell Work programmes team and by other staff at the FCW office, they teach and administer FCW stitching groups in prisons.
Prison volunteers work in teams to organise classes and teach our stitchers, as well as providing groups information to the prison and to the FCW office. The precise mix of skills will vary from prison to prison.
Volunteering in prison for Fine Cell Work requires ideally a good level of needlework skill (or a willingness to learn), some teaching experience and/or experience of working with socially-excluded groups. Volunteers must be patient and non-judgemental in order to work effectively. As a prison volunteer you will:

- Teach prisoners to stitch FCW products within the framework of our training programme

We are looking for our next Regional Finance Support/Treasurer to join the RDA North West Region’s committee. Are you:

RDA is a National Charity which operates with a vast network of volunteers (as well as staff at National Office) to give direction and support to RDA Groups throughout the UK who provide opportunities for therapy, achievement and enjoyment for disabled participants through horses.Over 39,000 participants are supported a year.In addition to horse riding, and carriage driving, the charity offers other activities such as “Tea with a Pony” for those affected by dementia.There are 21 RDA groups in the North West Region, which are each independent charities federated to RDA.
Each Region has a Regional Committee formed of regional and county volunteers. Regional Committees help support the Groups with their RDA activities; promote the work of the RDA within their Region and play a vital role in organising the Regional Show and the Regional Conference.The Region funds its work from fundraising and donations.
One key role within the Regional Committee is the Regional Treasurer.The role, in the North West. is currently undertaken by a Cheshire based accountant who is looking to step down after nearly 10 years.
- The role takes around 2-3 hours a month and is not very onerous.
- Quarterly reports and budgets, for National Office, are prepared in conjunction with our Regional Chair (Sheila Saner).A finance report is also circulated to our Regional Committee before their quarterly (approx.) meetings. Most meetings are on Zoom or MS Teams, so the role can be done remotely.
- There is a quarterly zoom meeting with the Finance Director, at National Office, who updates Regional Treasurers.The meeting lasts around an hour.
- You will be involved in any finance discussions with the Regional Committee, including any grants to be made to Groups from the Region’s funds.
- You will oversee investments held by the Region.
- The Finance Support/Treasurer pays any expenses to Regional Officers through Bankline (our Regional Chair then authorises them).There are only 10 Regional Officers.
We are lucky to have a wonderful group of supportive volunteers on the Regional Committee and there is normally someone who will step up to assist if someone else can’t make a meeting or are struggling with other commitments.
Our current Regional Treasurer is happy to provide a full handover to the incoming Treasurer and answer any questions about the role.

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. About Dose of Nature
Our work is grounded in a strong and growing body of scientific evidence demonstrating the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred directly by their GP with a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress and addiction. Our individual ten-week programme offers a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions, and one that is effective, sustainable, and accessible to all. Role Description
Role title: Trustee (three roles available)
Details: This is a voluntary role with quarterly 2-hour Trustee meetings held in-person at the Dose of Nature Hub, Pensford Field, Kew. The role is likely to take the equivalent of up to one day per month.
What we are looking for
We are at a key point in the evolution of Dose of Nature as we look to build on the successes of the Dose of Nature model and make the intervention accessible to more people.
We have an exceptionally skilled Board of Trustees and are looking to recruit new trustees with the following additional skills to complement the current board:

Role summary
Dose of Nature aims to grow its influence in the sector and to extend its reach, in order that more people can access the mental health benefits of nature. The Secretary plays a key administrative role in keeping the chapter organised and running smoothly. You’ll manage documentation and records using OneDrive and Simvoly, take and upload meeting minutes, track action points, and follow up with committee members on progress. The role also involves supporting communications, helping respond to emails and messages, maintaining event records, and organising socials to strengthen team relationships. Strong organisation, attention to detail, and confidence using digital tools are essential.

About the role:
We are looking for people to help lead some our teams across the organisation. We are volunteer led and manage 65+ volunteers across the country, most of them remoately. There are 10 different teams ranging from creative to business development. We are looking for up to 10 people to help with the coordination of feedback, delegation of tasks and assisting with running monthly meetings. We have a very diverse team of volunteers from all different culture, religons and disabilities.

Our organisation comprises a registered Charity and Community Interest Company, each with its own Board. The Charity provides supported accommodation, advice, support & guidance to vulnerable, homeless young people. The Community Interest Company provides 24 / 7 concierge services to CAYSH young people & externally to vulnerable adults with complex needs.

As a Trustee / Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our organisation towards success and helping us develop our business growth strategy. We are particularly seeking a trustee with safeguarding experiences.

Time commitment: Our Trustees and Directors provide a valuable and positive contribution, building on our strengths and ensuring our results are sustained. There are currently 9 Trustees / Directors within the Group who bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to the organisation.
To support the decision making at CAYSH, you will attend an average of 4 Board meetings and up to 4 Committee meetings a year, plus Trustee / Director away-days & other events, such as AGM. Meetings are held outside regular business hours and are mostly online. Events (including strategy days, AGM and service user get-togethers) usually take place at our offices in Croydon.
