As an Office Volunteer at Prostate Cancer UK, you'll play a key role in helping us to achieve our mission: ensuring that no man dies of prostate cancer. You'll provide support on a variety of non-time-sensitive tasks, helping the IT team to work more efficiently and effectively so we can make an even bigger difference.

• Create and maintain spreadsheets and trackers to support security administration.

Role summary

To participate as a member of the Maintenance Team covering general maintenance, domestic and health and safety duties. A good level of fitness is required for this role.

Main duties of the role

• To undertake simple maintenance tasks such as painting, PPM (planned preventative maintenance), erecting shelving, etc

This is a key operational role ensuring experiences run smoothly from planning through to completion, while also helping to secure activity sponsors for monthly charitable campaigns.

• Coordinate and manage activity bookings for campaign winners through partner providers

• Liaise directly with creators and winners to arrange meet and greet experiences

• Collect availability from winners for experiences booked on their behalf

• Send reminders and follow ups to ensure experiences proceed as planned

We are seeking a new Trustee with expertise in IT, digital and technology to join the Board of Prospect Hospice.

Our hospice provides compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting illness and their families. As healthcare and society become increasingly digital, technology now plays a critical role in how people find support, access care, and stay connected with services when they need them most.

Hospices increasingly rely on digital systems for clinical records, referrals, fundraising, volunteer coordination, and partnerships with NHS services. Strong board-level digital insight helps ensure these systems are safe, inclusive, secure and aligned with the hospice’s mission.

The Role

As a Trustee you will help provide strategic leadership, governance and oversight of the hospice.

• Appointments will be made on a rolling basis, with new Trustees formally ratified at the next appropriate Board meeting or Annual General Meeting (AGM), in line with our constitution. 
• While we anticipate a number of appointments during 2026, we encourage early applications and expressions of interest at any point.

The Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer will play an important role by providing companionship to someone we support at our supported living service by spending time with them, visiting them in the home and doing activities they enjoy. These might include chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, playing board games, etc.

Skills Required

· To be kind, empathetic and friendly

· To have a good sense of humour and love to chat

· To be punctual and reliable

· To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures

Training required for this role (all delivered vis e-learning)

· Safeguarding

· H&S

· Manual Handling

· How to be Eye Care Aware

· Fire Safety

· Infection Control

· Data Security and Confidentiality

· First Aid

All these courses will take approximately 40-60 minutes, apart from the First Aid which is 2 hours.

Pure Innovations is seeking to enhance the skill set of its board by appointing a Trustee with HR experience.

You must be willing to devote the necessary time and effort to the role to understand the business and the role that its people play in contributing to its growth and continued success.

Responsibilities:

• All trustees have joint governing responsibilities with other trustees to ensure Pure Innovations meets its objectives:
• Ensuring that the Charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these.
• Being responsible for the performance of the Charity and for its “corporate” behaviour; ensuring that the Charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Acting as guardians of the Charity’s assets, both tangible and intangible, taking all due care over their security, deployment and proper application.
• Ensuring that the Charity’s governance is of the highest possible standard. The Trustee with HR responsibilities takes on additional responsibilities to include:
• Being committed to ensuring highest standards of governance in policies and practice related to employee relations, recruitment, retention, reward and recognition as well as staff and trustee training and development. To review and recommend current and future strategic resourcing where appropriate.
• Assessing risks and measuring the impact of HR interventions in the light of changing legal requirements and best practice.
• Ensuring long-term strategic oversight of the organisation’s personnel and staffing requirements in relation to the overarching goals of the charity.
• To actively contribute as required to policy setting, strategic direction, goal and target setting, and evaluate performance against targets, budgets, plans and charitable objectives.
• To ensure that HR activities and interventions are linked to the charitable objectives
