Seeking childcare for children aged 0-12 for a community arts project in Vauxhall. We are looking for volunteers to look after the children of our participants during our sessions.

The Amies Projects (part of Pan Intercultural Arts) are music and drama projects for women survivors of human trafficking, providing an uplifting and empowering space for participants to make friends, learn new skills and get creative together. We hold several sessions each week and provide childcare for all the participants who need it, with 2 childcare volunteers during each session. The sessions for the participants are in an adjacent room to the childcare space, meaning parents are nearby.

Description of role

To provide childcare for young people aged 0-12. During the session there is no set curriculum to follow. We encourage children to be creative, offering arts supplies eg play doh and crayons, as well as toys for creative play. Children will have food during the session, which will be provided either by the charity or by the parents depending on the age and preferences. Children will need to be supported to use the toilet, nappies changed etc. We ask that volunteers alert staff of any safeguarding issues arising.

Our Primrose Hill Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What we’re looking for: We opened our first charity shop in Stroud town centre in November 2024 with all funds raised going to help care for the cats and dogs at our rescue centre.

You could volunteer on the shop floor, welcoming and chatting to customers, serving them on the till, and helping with their questions, as well as making sure the shop floor is well stocked and looking its best. This role is ideal for someone who likes meeting new people and having a chat. As you will be on the shop floor, good communication skills and a friendly manner is essential. Some customer service experience and experience using a till and taking payments would be preferred, but training will be provided.

If you prefer a back of shop role, this could be helping with sorting and preparing donations, researching donated items, creating displays and making sure the shop and stock room are clean and tidy. This could be the role for you if you are organised with an eye for detail.

When you can help: Our shop is open 9am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday. Volunteers usually offer a morning or afternoon, but you are welcome to stay for the whole day. We can be flexible with times, so do get in touch if you would like to discuss a different shift pattern.

Mulberry Cancer Support in Isleworth, West London,  is looking for a experienced and enthusiastic physically fit gardener to join our small team of volunteer gardeners on Wednesday mornings. The role will help to develop and maintain our existing garden space to ensure it remains a safe, calm, sensory place for our clients to relax in.

What do Befriending Volunteers do?

Our volunteers support older people (50+) who may be feeling lonely, isolated, or cut off from their usual activities. Volunteers help clients rebuild confidence, reconnect socially, and enjoy meaningful conversation. 

Support can take different forms depending on the client’s needs: 

Short-term Face-to-Face Support (up to 6 months) 

• Visiting someone regularly to help them work towards personal goals 

• Encouraging confidence to get out and about again

Long-term Befriending (for those most isolated)

We are seeking qualified and compassionate children’s counsellors with specialisms in play therapy, art therapy, or drama therapy to volunteer their time and skills to support children navigating emotional, behavioural, or developmental challenges. As a Volunteer Therapist, you will provide a safe, creative, and therapeutic environment where children can express themselves and begin to heal.

·Provide 1:1 or small group therapeutic sessions using your specialised modality (play, art, or drama).

·Build trusting relationships with children to support emotional expression and psychological wellbeing.

·Collaborate with staff and carers to ensure continuity and appropriateness of support.
