SEED Madagascar is a British Charity working in partnership with communities in the southeast of Madagascar. At Cede Foundation, we create safe, welcoming spaces where children can learn, play, build confidence and enjoy positive experiences during the school holidays.

We are looking for friendly, caring and reliable volunteers to support our holiday club activities. Volunteering with us is a great way to help children take part in fun activities, make friends and enjoy a supportive space during their school break.

As a volunteer, you will work alongside staff and other volunteers to help the day run smoothly and make sure every child feels welcome, included and encouraged.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys spending time with children, likes hands-on volunteering and wants to make a positive difference in their community.

What you will be doing

You will help make our holiday club a safe, positive and fun place for children.

Your tasks may include:

• Helping to prepare activity spaces before children arrive
• Welcoming children and families and helping with registration
• Assisting with games, creative activities, sports and group sessions
• Encouraging children to join in and feel confident taking part
• Supporting children during transitions between activities
• Helping with snacks, resources and general session coordination
• Assisting staff with attendance, feedback or simple record-keeping tasks where needed
• Helping to tidy activity spaces at the end of the day
• Promoting a friendly, inclusive and respectful atmosphere throughout the session

You will not be expected to lead sessions alone or take on staff responsibilities. A staff member or an activity leader will be there to support you throughout.

Time commitment

Our holiday club sessions run during the school holidays, usually from 10 am to 2 pm on selected programme days.

You can volunteer for one or more days, depending on your availability. You may be asked to arrive a little earlier to help with set-up and attend a short briefing before the session begins.

Reasonable out-of-pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.

Our next holiday club starts on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake.

As a hospital volunteer, you might: 

• hold drop-in sessions

• attend events and ward meetings at local facilities

• share information

• assist people to request advocacy support by completing a form online or calling our contact centre

Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteer

People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them.  This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve.  Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.

As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:

· Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support

· Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes

· Raise concerns

· Keep detailed notes and records

· Make a real difference to someone’s life

All volunteering will take place Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK. Please note that there is no opportunity to volunteer at weekends or in the evening.

Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Key Stage 3 Science tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with serious illnesses.

What will you be doing? 

Run tutoring sessions online to support a young person for one hour per week 

Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to KS3 Science 

Help to combat social isolation through fun and engaging tutoring sessions. 

Adhere to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team

What are we looking for? 

1. Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of KS3 Science concepts and specifications.
2. Teaching Skills: Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way.
3. Empathy and Patience: Kind and understanding nature, especially towards those facing health challenges.
4. Reliability: Consistent availability for the agreed-upon time commitment.
5. Adherence to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team

What difference will you make?

1. Academic Progress: Help young people stay on track with their studies despite their health challenges, ensuring they do not fall behind.
2. Confidence Builder: Provide a stable and encouraging presence that helps build the students' confidence and resilience.
3. Future Opportunities: Equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

2. Safeguarding Level One Training

4. Direct experience working with children and young people

You must be a UK resident and be at least 18 years old.
