Job description

"Hi - I live in West Bromwich and I am supported by Dimensions. I love football and I am looking for a friendly volunteer to join me at football matches and tournaments. I also love music, especially Elvis!"

A young gentleman we support would love to have a male companion to attend football matches and enjoy music with.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you! This could be the perfect way to share your time, have fun and make friends along the way.

Activities will include:

  • Supporting our young gentleman to attend football matches and tournaments
  • Listening to a variety of music together (particularly by Elvis!) and going to tribute concerts
  • Being there for company, friendship and fun
  • Activities will NOT include: Personal care, medication or financial assistance

We’re looking for a male volunteer who is:

  • A fan of watching football and also enjoys music (a bonus if you love Elvis!)
  • Friendly and enthusiastic
  • Comfortable chatting with people with learning disabilities and autism (experience desired, but not essential)
  • Reliable and willing to commit to volunteer on a regular basis (exact times and days can be discussed)
  • Ideally a driver (aged 21+ with minimum 2 years driving experience), but this is not essential

A DBS check and two character references will be required for this role.

What you’ll gain from being a Dimensions volunteer:

Our volunteers play a vital role in our work and in return, we support them with:

  • Free certificated training (with access to 800 plus courses)
  • Free membership to an online shopping discount scheme
  • Comprehensive support from professional, friendly and trained Dimensions staff
  • Agreed travel expenses reimbursed
  • An opportunity to gain real experience in the social care sector
