We have a new opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our fantastic Technology team.

Here at the Royal British Legion, we are currently embarking on an exciting new phase with our Customer, Technology and Change directorate. The Business Analyst position will see you play a key role in helping our organisation understand, shape and deliver effective change across people, process, data and technology. Working within the Business Analysis Practice, you will ensure that change initiatives are grounded in clear requirements, robust analysis and a deep understanding of user needs.

You will work closely with colleagues across Technology and the wider organisation to analyse issues, explore opportunities, and translate business needs into actionable insights and documentation. Your work will contribute directly to the delivery of high-quality solutions by producing user stories, process maps, functional and non-functional requirements, and supporting delivery teams through the full change lifecycle.

You will have significant experience working as a Business analyst within complex organisations, delivering change across people process, data and technology. You will have demonstrable experience of requirement analysis, user story development and process mapping. You will be a strong communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and to translate ambiguity into clear, actionable insights.

You will be contracted to your home address, and you will perform most of your work remotely there, with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings).

About the role

The Data Analyst is responsible for providing the insight, reporting and learnings to evaluate the effectiveness and inform the direction of Amnesty International UK's marketing and campaigning activities. The role is also responsible for managing the extraction of mailing and other contact data for AIUK's supporter communications.

The Data Analyst is also required to produce reports and dashboards, ensuring that data analysis findings are communicated to key stakeholders across the organisation in an engaging and impactful manner.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about drawing insights from data and is keen to use their analytical skills to maximise the impact of our campaigns to end human rights abuses.

The Role

What we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced applications professional with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach. You will have experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support for enterprise systems, ideally including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Customer Engagement) and the Power Platform. You will be confident troubleshooting incidents, carrying out root cause analysis, supporting integrations, and maintaining system performance and data integrity.

You will be comfortable configuring and enhancing applications to meet evolving business needs, supporting upgrades and releases, and contributing to continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation and external suppliers. You will also have an understanding of information security, GDPR, and governance requirements, along with experience supporting project delivery, testing, and go-live activities.

You will have a varied role that combines operational support with improvement and project work, allowing you to make a visible impact on how the organisation operates. We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Service Charge Analyst located at our Head Office in Islington.

£35,000.00 per annum (pro rata), working 35 hours per week.

Fixed Term Contract for 6 months.

To play a key role in Look Ahead's review of service charge structures across its commissioned and non-commissioned housing portfolio.

They will draft new service charge schedules, provide clear written rationales for all proposed charges, and liaise directly with local authorities and housing benefit to explain and agree new charges for 2026-27.

What you'll do:

Review and Rebuild Service Charge Budgets

• Lead on the zero-based review of existing rent and service charge budgets across Look Ahead's full housing portfolio.

Draft and Implement New Service Charges Schedules

• Produce accurate and transparent service charges schedules for each scheme, distinguishing between eligible and ineligible costs in line with housing benefit guidance and provide summary rationale for each cost element.

Liaise with Local Authorities, Housing Benefit Teams and Owning Landlords

• Act as key contact for Housing Benefit teams, representing Look Ahead in rent and service discussion for 2026-27.

Collaboration and Internal Coordination

• Working closely with finance colleagues to align service charges budgets with proposed schedules for 2026-27.

Compliance, Reporting and Improvement

• Ensure full compliance with DWP guidance (including circulars A4/2014 and A1/2023), HB regulations, and Regulator of Social Housing requirements.

About you:

• Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines in a time-limited role.
• Analytical and methodical, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, auditable records.

What you'll bring:

Essential:

• Substantial experience reviewing or setting service charges within supported or social housing.
• Proven experience preparing enhanced Housing Benefit claims and engaging directly with local authority housing benefit teams.
• Experience of building or reviewing budgets using a zero-based or baseline-up approach.
• Strong understanding of Housing Benefit regulations relating to exempt and specified accommodation, including eligible and ineligible costs.

Desirable:

• Experience working in an interim, project-based, or time-limited role.
• Experience supporting or contributing to a full service charge review for a registered provider.
