The Shakespeare Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Fundraising Assistant to join our Income Generation team and play a central role in supporting the Hospice’s fundraising activity.

This role is the first point of contact for many of our supporters, helping to ensure every interaction with the Hospice is positive, responsive and meaningful. You will act as a key coordination point across the fundraising team, supporting campaigns, community fundraising, events and supporter communications.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help to ensure that fundraising activity runs smoothly and that opportunities to engage and thank supporters are maximised.  This role is pivotal in ensuring that supporters feel valued and connected to the Hospice, helping to turn initial engagement into long-term relationships.

You will be someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing excellent supporter care.  You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities while maintaining attention to detail.

Experience in fundraising, events, customer engagement or supporter care would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Job Summary

The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a key role in raising awareness of hygiene poverty and inspiring individuals and corporate partners to act in support of The Hygiene Bank’s mission. This role leads our communications strategy, creates compelling content, manages digital channels, secures regional and national media coverage for the charity, and supports national campaigns and events. You will have the opportunity to work with our exciting portfolio of corporate and brand partners, co-designing joint campaigns and initiatives, and positioning our communications to generate further support and income.You will also play an important role in our End Hygiene Poverty research and campaign partnership with the charity In Kind Direct. 

Working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners, the postholder ensures our brand integrity and messaging is clear, ethical and impactful, helping to amplify the voices of those experiencing hygiene poverty and strengthen engagement with volunteers, community partners, supporters and the public who share our mission to end hygiene poverty. It is a varied, creative and meaningful role which sits at the heart of our work to ensure everyone has access to the hygiene essentials they need to feel clean, confident, and connected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Communications Plan and Implementation 

• Develop and implement the annual communications and marketing plan in collaboration with senior leadership. 

• Design communications which meet our objectives, with particular emphasis on raising awareness of hygiene poverty and the charity, securing the support we need and championing and celebrating our partners and stakeholders 

• Ensure communications are accurate, impactful, and aligned with The Hygiene Bank’s mission, values, tone of voice and brand guidelines. 

• Translate complex or sensitive issues related to hygiene poverty into accessible, compelling stories. 

• Provide strategic communications support across teams and projects, including leading on National Hygiene Week, our flagship annual event and our partnerships with leading national brands, such as Boots, Unilever and smol. 

• Provide communications support for our fundraising campaigns and optimise our calls to action across all media. 

• Uphold high ethical and inclusive standards in all messaging and ensure our communications conform with accessibility standards. 

2. Digital Strategy and Implementation 

• Lead digital planning and delivery across our website, email, social media and digital campaigns. 

• Manage digital advertising activity (e.g., paid social, Google Ads), ensuring strong ROI. 

• Lead on the development and maintenance of our website to maximised our impact with audiences, including using SEO and traffic metrics to inform improvements.

• Oversee analytics, reporting and insight‑driven optimisation, using this to guide the work of yourself and the Communications Officer. 

3. Content Creation 

• Produce high quality written, visual and multimedia content for a variety of platforms – including media communications, social media, presentations and speeches and communications collateral to support all our campaigns. 

• Create and update marketing collateral, including leaflets, posters and campaign toolkits. 

• Manage, create and edit supporter newsletters and email communications. 

• Commission and collaborate with designers, photographers and videographers and other external creative resources as required. 

• Develop and hold a library of high-quality creative assets and imagery which support our proposition and share with partners and volunteers as needed. 

4. Ambassadors and Influencers 

•  Build and nurture relationships with ambassadors, influencers and public supporters. 

•  Develop briefs, guidance and campaign plans for influencer activity. 

•  Ensure ambassador messaging aligns with organisational values and priorities. 

•  Identify opportunities to amplify diverse lived experiences and voices. 

5. Events 

• Plan and implement digital and in person events for THB audiences 

• Lead promotional activity for national and regional events, campaigns and awareness moments including those with our brand and corporate partners 

• Support branding and communications needs for in‑person and digital events. 

• Coordinate communications for key campaigns such as National Hygiene Week and major partnership launches. 

• Capture and produce event‑related content (photo, video, social). 

6. External Engagement and media 

• Act as the point person for our collaborative campaign with In Kind Direct (IKD) End Hygiene Poverty, coordinating joint activities and working closely with peers in the charity 

• Collaborate and work with our corporate partners to produce co-branded communications and collateral which protects the integrity of our brand and aligns with our partners. 

• Collaborate with sector organisations to amplify other campaigns and activities in pursuit of shared goals

• Support media relations through press releases, statements, case studies and briefing documents. 

• Work with our external broadcast agency to create compelling broadcast opportunities to amplify our messaging and campaigns 

• Secure local, regional and national coverage for the charity online, and in print 

• Represent The Hygiene Bank in external meetings, partnerships and sector collaborations. 

• Build relationships with community groups, corporate partners and volunteers. 

• Provide campaign assets and messaging for partners to support wider engagement. 

7. Data and Monitoring 

• Monitor communications performance using analytics tools. 

• Prepare monthly reports and recommendations based on performance data. 

• Maintain accurate records of communications outputs, engagement and media coverage. 

• Ensure GDPR‑compliant data handling and responsible content management. 

• Prepare an annual review of communications and learnings as input to future plans. 

8. Administration 

• Manage communications timelines, schedules and project documentation. 

• Coordinate with suppliers, agencies and freelancers, including managing budgets where required. 

• Oversee approval processes for communications materials. 

• Maintain organised filing systems and brand resources. 

9. Team 

• Work collaboratively across teams and with volunteers to support organisation‑wide communications needs. 

• Line manage the Communications Officer, empowering and championing them in their role 

• Provide guidance on messaging, brand use and digital best practice. 

• Adopt a ‘can do’ and responsive attitude to requests from team members.

10. Internal Communications 

• Support internal newsletters, updates and team/trustee communications. 

• Working with relevant colleagues, ensure staff and volunteers have consistent, clear and accessible information.

Role outline and purpose

The Organising and Local Mobilisation (OLM) Manager is responsible for managing ongoing support to food banks as they organise and campaign for change. This varied, proactive, and fast-paced role will involve working closely with grant funded Local Organisers as part of Trussell’s Organising Programme, frequently visiting food banks and delivering online and in person training.

You will hold responsibility for providing direct support as food banks develop effective campaign strategies – covering local and Trussell priorities – and ensuring they have the capacity, skills, and resources to deliver them. You will also work closely with other departments at Trussell and external partners to support food banks outside of the Organising Programme to influence locally and play a leading role in mobilising them to campaign for change. 

This role is part of Trussell’s Supportive Communities programme, the goal of which is to enable local communities to become places where people at risk of needing to use a food bank are supported and are using their agency to bring about meaningful changes that prevent anybody from needing emergency food. This role is focused on the successful delivery of the overall programme outcomes, contributing to the fulfilment of our long term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.

Role responsibilities

· Network area-wide delivery of the Organising Programme: Lead and manage the delivery of OLM’s Organising Programme in your network area, recruiting food banks to join, providing in person and online training and ongoing relational support to Local Organisers to ensure campaign strategies are developed and delivered. Organise and lead area-wide training, clusters, or events for food bank staff and volunteers to promote co-operation and sharing of good practice around local influencing. 

· Training, learning and programme development: Play a key role in the design and delivery of a programme of training and other learning for food banks covering organising, mobilising, and influencing. Contributing to impact and process evaluations and assisting food banks involved to explore future sources of funding, as required.

· Supporting food banks to influence locally: Empower food banks to develop their local influencing work, triaging influencing issues and managing input from other relevant Trussell Trust experts to provide ongoing support that enables the food bank to progress their influencing work. 

· Mobilising food banks in Trussell’s campaigns: Support the development and promotion of national Trussell policy campaigns, working with other teams and external partners to engage the food banks you support in taking action - including how they might take ownership of campaigns locally and help shape those priorities.

· Internal stakeholder engagement: Project manage OLM’s involvement in assigned cross-organisational projects – e.g. a policy campaign or strategic project, ensuring the OLM team are consulted, negotiating with other teams and making decisions accordingly. As part of an area-based matrix team you’ll work closely with other food bank facing staff to ensure a joined up approach to food bank support, effective communication, as well as sharing learning and best practice.

GFS is seeking a strategic, proactive and values-led Communications Manager to lead the delivery of our communications function and elevate our profile across audiences and platforms. The role will support the shaping and delivery of a communications strategy that amplifies our voice, showcases our impact, and builds trust and engagement with our community. You’ll work across all areas of the organisation to coordinate messaging, manage risk and lead communications activity that reflects our feminist values and purpose.

The Communications Manager will oversee digital content, media relations, marketing and digital fundraising campaigns, working in close collaboration with the CEO, Leadership team and wider team. Role outline and purpose

To manage policy and public affairs influencing in Wales to ensure effective delivery of Trussell’s strategy to achieve policy and secure policy change that ends the need for food banks.

To contribute to the delivery of the wider goals of the Making Social Security Work programme across the UK and to the Prioritising Hunger & Hardship, Supportive Communities and Holistic Advice programmes in Wales.

Key responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of Trussell’s strategy to end the need for food banks in Wales.

· Supports the development and delivery of Trussell’s strategy to end the need for food banks in Wales. This includes planning influencing opportunities, developing relationships, and shaping asks to advance Trussell’s mission in Wales, contributing to the successful delivery of our overall strategy.

Deliver policy, public affairs, and advocacy in Wales.

· Deliver policy development, public affairs, and advocacy activity to contribute towards the goals of the organisation’s Wales strategy and achieve policy change. This includes working closely with Wales based colleagues to represent Trussell in the media and at external events, managing social media, direct engagement with MS’s. MP’s, ministers, advisers and officials, preparing briefings and co-ordinating events and advocacy activity across Wales that secures impactful engagement. This ensures a coherent, effective influencing programme is delivered that drives policy change and strengthens organisational credibility.

Build strong evidence base for Wales.

· Work with programme teams across Trussell and with external partners to ensure strong evidence base for Wales and ensure our evidence is shared externally and has impact. This includes sharing research findings with a range of audiences and external stakeholders through written and verbal briefings and working collaboratively with programmes across Trussell to build robust evidence base for the organisation’s policy and public affairs influencing and profile in Wales.

Develop effective partnerships and networks.

· Build collaborative external partnerships and develop networks to strengthen policy and public affairs activity in Wales, represent Trussell and promote the organisation’s policy positions to external stakeholders and audiences. This includes working with Wales based colleagues to represent the organisation in key Welsh sector coalitions and promoting the organisations policy positions and evidence to external stakeholders, to build awareness of the issues driving people to use food banks in Wales and our policy solutions.  

Support effective campaigning.

· Work with campaign colleagues, food bank-facing colleagues in Wales and the food bank network to shape and deliver effective campaign activity that advances the organisation’s goals and strategy in Wales and across the UK.  This includes working with Wales based colleagues to shape campaign activity, advise on the political context, and support mobilisation. This ensures campaigns are well informed, relevant to Wales and contribute meaningfully to UK wide programme objectives.

Brief role description

Working closely with the Director of Veterans and Families Employment, the Programme Manager drives operational excellence, strengthens service consistency across the UK, and represents the charity’s employment offer in the devolved nations. They ensure that our national network of Advisors is supported, empowered, and aligned to strategic goals, enabling the very best outcomes for the veteran community.

It’s essential that they have experience managing multi-site or national teams, alongside a strong understanding of employment support or careers guidance. They will be confident working with a range of stakeholders, able to use data to inform decisions, and an excellent communicator. Strong IT skills and a genuine commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community are also key.
