Overview of Role:
The Operational Support Worker plays a vital role in enabling the team to offer compassionate, Christ centred support to vulnerable women. As the project has seen growth over the last few years, in response to rising demand, this role will play a key part in shaping and establishing the administrative systems, processes and procedures we’ve not yet had the capacity to formalise—ideal for someone who is energised by building structure, improving practice, and being part of creating solutions rather than stepping into a readymade setup. By carrying out the administrative, organisational, and practical tasks that keep the project running smoothly, they will help free frontline staff and evangelists to focus on building relationships, offering pastoral care, and walking alongside women in their daily challenges.
Salary: £24,570 per Annum (FTE)

Summary:
The Supporter Partnerships Officer (SPO) plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for new and existing supporters of London City Mission.
Purpose of the job:
As a key member of the Fundraising team, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and organisations who give to the charity; handling enquiries, processing donations given over the telephone, updating supporter records, nurturing long-term relationships and providing insight to other members of the fundraising team.

Key responsibilities:
Supporter care and engagement
- Be the first point of contact for supporters' (existing and new) enquiries by phone, email, letter, website and any other fundraising channels. Ensure they experience an excellent standard of response and experience.
- Be responsible for ensuring donations are thanked promptly and for establishing excellent standards of supporter care.
- You will look for opportunities to send stories and communications that show the Mission’s appreciation including leading on the LCM wide thank you events to Individual Giving supporters.
- Keep thank you letters up to date with new stories to show the impact of their donations.
- Respond to the cancellation of donations thanking the supporter for their gifts and ensure that the cancellation was planned.
Data and insights
- Ensure all supporter information and interactions are captured accurately, up to date and stored in the fundraising CRM in line with GDPR and organisational policies to allow LCM to maximise income. This includes creating new records, assist with managing online donation pages and communicate with supporters on communication preferences and gift aid.
- Run regular reports to track supporter engagement, retention, and income trends.

Proactive fundraising support
- Identify opportunities to deepen supporter relationships, including upgrading gifts, promoting campaigns, or encouraging long term commitments.

You’ll be a first point of contact for tenants, contractors and colleagues, ensuring efficient communication and a positive customer experience. Working closely with your colleagues you’ll help us to maintain excellent service delivery and uphold our compliance standards across our 165 homes.
What you'll be doing:
- Coordinate day to day housing administration including lettings, tenancy updates, and customer enquiries.
- Administer and monitor repair and maintenance, raising works orders, liaising with contractors, processing invoices, and updating tenants.
- Assist with our empty homes from tenancy termination through to re-let.
- Support the delivery and monitoring of all compliance activities, including gas, electrical, fire, legionella, and asbestos safety checks.
- Maintain records and produce reports.
- Assist with income collection and rent administration.
- Contribute to a positive customer experience by supporting the housing team with engagement, communication, and service delivery.
This role requires travel to our housing schemes in Newmarket, with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
About you
Prior experience in housing, property management, or a similar administrative role is highly desirable, particularly with exposure to repairs, voids, and compliance processes.
However, we recognise that excellent candidates don’t always follow a single career path. If you can demonstrate strong transferable skills such as managing complex workloads, liaising with customers and suppliers, and maintaining accurate records we’d encourage you to apply.
You don’t need to know everything on day one, but the following will help:

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.
AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands we are looking for a specialist Advocate for Scotland. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse. · Listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight.
· Provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide & Suicide Reviews (DHSR’s) and other reviews where relevant and appropriate.
· Manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities.
· Give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf.
· Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.
