We’re looking for detail-orientated, proactive people who’d like to use their research or writing skills to help strengthen our funding applications and impact reporting.

As a Research and Bid Support Volunteer, you’ll help identify funding opportunities, gather data and evidence, and support the preparation of grant proposals. You’ll also assist with compiling feedback and monitoring information that helps us demonstrate the difference our work makes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, analysis and writing and wants to gain experience in how charities develop projects and secure funding.

We are looking for volunteers in Buckinghamshire, including Milton Keynes area.

Volunteers would be expected to attend regular network training evenings, on line training and specific face to face training for the role. Once trained for the role would be expected to assist at First Aid, PR and fundraising events.

Candidates will need to be available to attend an all day Selection event that will be held on Saturday 28th February 2026 at the St John Ambulance Headquarters in Aylesbury.

Following the selection event, successful candidates will need to attend a Welcome event on Saturday 14th March in Aylesbury. On line training plus face to face classroom training.

Role title: Collection volunteer Braehead Shopping Centre, Renfrewshire 

Time commitment: 2 - 4 hours a day

What we're looking for

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative and organised people to be an NSPCC Collection Volunteer in your local community. Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. That means, our collection volunteers play a important part in rallying people together to raise vital funds which help to protect children and prevent abuse.

What you'll do

You'll be working together with the rest of the team to raise awareness and funds. you'll be collecting for the vital work the NSPCC does, engaging with the public- promoting a positive image for the NSPCC!

We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle.

• Distribute collection boxes to locations such as cafes, shops, bars, restaurants and small businesses in your local area
• Replace full boxes, counting and banking funds, liaising with your local community team and organising receipts and thank you cards for supporters
• Represent NSPCC in a professional manner
• Share news about our work in the local community and help promote fundraising events and initiatives

What you'll get

We'll support you with advice, skills and tools to help you fundraise and spread the word about the NSPCC. You'll be given a designated point of contact and we'll cover reasonable mileage expenses. Trustee needed for Faith in Action Homelessness Project. We are seeking a Trustee to join our committed Board working to end homelessness in Merton.

About Us: FiA runs a twice weekly drop in for homeless and vulnerably housed people and a Winter Night Shelter which works in collaboration with faith groups including a Mosque, a Synagogue, a Hindu Temple and Christian churches to provide overnight accommodation and support to find long term housing solutions.

Our Small Team consists of a Manager, a Winter nightshelter co-ordinator and seven part time staff.  The Trustee team is a very hands on group - many are volunteers at the night shelter or drop in and it is a very committed and passionate team.

We are looking for three new trustees to make our board up to 12.

This role involves more than just attending meetings.  We are responsible for:

Setting the strategic direction of the charity

Ensuring tranparency and accountablity

Taking specific areas of responsibility - leading on fundraising, or staff recruitment, or governance or communication and PR for the charity.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuatls who can lead on the following areas:

1. Fundraising - especially developing partnerships with local businesses

2. Communications - including managing our strategy on social media and community engagement

Network meetings are held on Wednesday evenings between 19:30-21:00 during school term time although these are normally reduced to twice monthly in winter. It is important for applicants to generally be able to attend meetings.

Interviews will be held around similar times to the regular meetings on Wednesday evenings in Heanor.

Induction evenings will be held at same time and location as the regular meetings and an existing volunteer will provide direct support as a Buddy.

As well we online training, in person training will be provided. In person training is usually over one weekend.
