About Us

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil is a bold and transformative Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) founded by Mrs. Vienna St Hillaire. Our mission is to create a powerful platform for truth-telling, healing, and systemic change—focused on survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), individuals from broken homes, and young people across all communities.

We are building more than a platform—we are building a movement, an infrastructure, and a legacy system that will:

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Founding HR Director to join our core leadership team and take full ownership of building and scaling our HR function from the ground up.

This is not a traditional HR role.

This is a legacy-building position for someone who wants to:

Your Mission

To design, build, and lead a high-impact, future-ready HR department that supports:

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Infrastructure (Foundational Build)

• Design and implement the entire HR architecture from scratch
• Develop policies, frameworks, and SOPs aligned with UK regulations and CIC requirements
• Build scalable systems for onboarding, training, performance, and retention
• Establish a values-led organisational culture framework

2. Team Leadership & Department Scaling

• Lead and manage a team of 6 existing HR assistants/coordinators, scaling to 20 HR personnel
• Create clear role structures, reporting lines, and accountability systems
• Train and mentor junior HR staff—many of whom may be early in their careers

3. Recruitment & Talent Development

• Build ethical, inclusive, and scalable recruitment pipelines
• Design structured onboarding experiences for volunteers and staff
• Implement training and development pathways, especially for young people and survivors

4. Compliance, Safeguarding & Governance

• Ensure full compliance with UK employment law and CIC standards
• Develop robust safeguarding policies for working with vulnerable individuals
• Establish data protection and confidentiality frameworks

5. Home Office Sponsorship Licence (Critical Objective)

• Lead the process of securing a UK Home Office Sponsor Licence within our 5year vision
• Build internal systems required to issue Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS)
• Ensure ongoing compliance with sponsorship regulations and reporting duties

6. HR Tech & Systems Innovation

• Manage open-source HR tools and platforms
• Collaborate on building custom internal systems tailored to our mission
• Explore cost-effective, scalable alternatives to traditional HR software

7. Culture, Wellbeing & Retention

• Build a trauma-informed, supportive HR environment
• Create systems that prioritise emotional wellbeing, especially for survivors
• Foster a culture of trust, truth-telling, and accountability

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• Senior-level HR experience (Director, Head of HR, or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices
• Experience building or restructuring HR departments is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Home Office sponsorship processes is a major advantage

CONTEXT

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in

Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children.

We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to

identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We

offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help

women facing crises or challenging situations.

Wolverhampton Baby Bank is a flagship project run by The Women & Families

Resource Centre, a registered charity supporting families with children aged 0-3.

Through donated essentials and community engagement, we provide much-needed

items such as:

• Essential supplies for babies and toddlers, including nappies, wipes, clothing, toys,

and bedding.

• Support services for new parents, including drop-in groups and befriending for

pregnant women and new mothers.

• Referrals and resources to connect families with additional community services.

Scope and Span

The Listing, Inventory & Photography Officer is responsible for accurately recording, organizing, and visually documenting donated items within the Baby Bank.

This role ensures that all items are properly listed, photographed, categorized, and updated in the inventory system to maintain transparency, quality control, and efficient distribution.

Volunteer Guidelines

Thank you for volunteering with The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC). Our work supports and empowers women and families facing challenging circumstances, and your role is essential in helping us provide consistent, reliable, and respectful services. To ensure fairness, sustainability, and high-quality support for the community, all volunteers are expected to follow the structured framework and guidelines below.

• Minimum of 12hrs per week and 4hrs per day

• Attend agreed shifts consistently and provide notice if unable to attend.

• Carry out agreed tasks responsibly, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

• Treat service users, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect and compassion.

• Communicate openly about availability, concerns, or if feeling overwhelmed to prevent burnout and overcommitment.

• Follow agreed scheduling processes to ensure continuity and consistency in service delivery.

• Work collaboratively as part of the team and report any safeguarding concerns immediately.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Record all approved donated items into the inventory system

• Categorize items by type, size, age range, and condition

• Take clear photographs of items for listing in the online platform

• Ensure items are correctly labeled and stored in designated areas

• Update stock levels and item status in tracking sheets or inventory tools

• Coordinate with Sorting Team to confirm item condition before listing

• Maintain organized digital folders for item photos

• Flag missing, damaged, or mismatched inventory to the Team Lead

• Follow all operational SOPs for data entry and documentation
   

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education (college level preferred)

• Basic experience in admin, inventory, data entry, or photography preferred

• Comfortable using Google Drive, Sheets, or Excel

• Basic knowledge of smartphone or camera photography

• Available for required volunteer or assigned hours

MARINElife is a science charity that conducts cetacean and seabird research and monitoring

by gathering information of key marine species so they can be better protected.  For over 30 Years, we have carried out research, educational and outreach work on whales, dolphins, seabirds and other marine animals in the oceans of North-west Europe. We also provide relevant, robust and up-to-date information to those working for the sustainable future of our oceans.

The vital work is done in partnership with a wide range of sponsoring bodies from ecotourism through to research institutes and shipping companies. Our goal is to help conserve marine animals and to raise awareness of the threats they face by engaging the public and policymakers.

Everyone here has a passion for the marine environment. Our Trustees play a key role and are responsible for the oversight and governance of the charity, including ensuring the charity has the strategy to deliver its aims. They work as a team on the MARINElife Board of Trustees and also take a hands-on lead on specific topics as required.

Day- to- day operation of the charity is carried out by a small and dedicated team. They work with an enthusiastic community of volunteers and supporters, who survey the seas and deliver the data that forms our important contribution to marine science and conservation.

We currently have three exciting opportunities for Trustees to join us who, in addition to a passion for the marine environment, have the skills to contribute to governance of the charity and deliver our ambitious strategic plan. In addition to general Trustee duties, we are specifically seeking Trustees who have the ability to take the lead in the areas of:

· Digital Communications and Technology

· Fundraising

Our Trustee with the Digital Communications & Technology Brief will additionally take responsibility for supporting development of the Website and social media channels, the development of relevant strategy and policies on behalf of the Board, and giving guidance and support to staff, volunteers, and MARINElife’s partners. 

Our Trustee with the Fundraising Brief will additionally take responsibility for engagement with stakeholders and potential funding bodies to help the Board of Trustees maximise fundraising and resourcing opportunities to sustain and strengthen the charity.

What We’re Looking For:

For the Trustee Digital Communications & Technology - experience and expertise in communications technology to support MARINElife’s existing communications team, and to ensure that technologies used are fit for the purpose of delivering MARINElife’s digital content. You will advise the Board on website and social media communications capability and ensure the positive impact of our communications. Experience of Krystal Web Hosting for Charities and Wordpress is desirable.

For the Trustee Fundraising - experience and expertise in Fundraising to ensure MARINElife Income sources are fit for the purpose and experience in developing and overseeing the application of fundraising policies to enable the delivery of the charity’s objectives.

We require all our Trustees to be:

o Passionate about the marine environment and to be able to enthuse our mission.

o Strategic thinkers and clear communicators with an ability to stand back and see the bigger picture and to think about what is best for the Charity as a whole

o Enthusiastic contributors, able to work effectively with others as part of a team and willing to play an active role in the development of the Charity

Previous Board or Trustee experience is not necessary and we welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds with a passion for the environment who have the experience that we are looking for to strengthen our Board.

The Trustee role is voluntary; the time requirement will vary but will require on average a one day a month commitment including Quarterly Trustee board meetings.

This volunteer opportunity is perfect for anyone who enjoys being part of local community events and wants to make a meaningful difference for cats across the South West. As a fundraising events helper, you will support a range of enjoyable activities such as craft fairs, coffee mornings, quiz nights, county shows and supermarket collections. Your support at these events helps raise the vital funds needed to care for cats and kittens in need.

Every event you take part in truly makes a difference. Even small amounts go a long way. Just £5 can feed a cat in our care for 25 days, helping us provide the food, warmth and comfort they rely on.

You do not need previous experience. All you need is a friendly attitude, a willingness to get involved and an interest in helping cats. Whether you prefer setting up stalls, chatting to members of the public or supporting activities throughout the day, there is a place for you on the team. Any time you can give will help us continue our work and support cats who need it most.

This role is very flexible. You can choose to volunteer at a single event for a couple of hours or join multiple events throughout the year. We will keep you updated with upcoming opportunities so you can choose what suits you best.

Wherever you are based in the South West, you will have full support from your fellow volunteers and the Fundraising Hub team. They are always available to offer guidance, resources and encouragement.

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

It’s an exciting time to join Victim Support, as we prepare to begin delivery of the Witness Service from April 2026. We look forward to welcoming current Witness Service staff and volunteers to Victim Support — and we’re also now beginning recruitment for several new roles and to fill vacant positions.  

The Witness Service provides free, independent support to any witness giving evidence in criminal courts in England and Wales — both for the prosecution and the defence.  

Our trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence.   

The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, and friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.

Witness Service Outreach Volunteers provide support to witnesses when they are attending court, as well as pre-trial and post-trial helping them to feel safe and informed. You will provide support to both prosecution and defence witnesses.

What do we ask of you? 

In order to join us as a Witness Service Volunteer, you must: 

• Be 18 years of age or over. 

• Be able to volunteer for at least 1 day per week, for at least 12 months. 

• Undertake training – this includes virtual training days as well as completing online learning modules. 

• Undertake an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List check & be part of the DBS Update Service.

• Be able to provide two satisfactory references. 

• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications. 

Expenses 

• All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

CONTEXT

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in

Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children.

We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to

identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We

offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help

women facing crises or challenging situations.

Wolverhampton Baby Bank is a flagship project run by The Women & Families

Resource Centre, a registered charity supporting families with children aged 0-3.

Through donated essentials and community engagement, we provide much-needed

items such as:

• Essential supplies for babies and toddlers, including nappies, wipes, clothing, toys,

and bedding.

• Support services for new parents, including drop-in groups and befriending for

pregnant women and new mothers.

• Referrals and resources to connect families with additional community services.

Scope and Span

The Listing / Inventory Team Lead is responsible for overseeing all inventory tracking, listing accuracy, and stock control within the Baby Bank.

This role ensures that all donated items are properly recorded, categorized, stored, and updated in the inventory system to maintain visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency.

The Team Lead supervises inventory volunteers and ensures adherence to operational SOPs.

Volunteer Guidelines

Thank you for volunteering with The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC). Our work supports and empowers women and families facing challenging circumstances, and your role is essential in helping us provide consistent, reliable, and respectful services. To ensure fairness, sustainability, and high-quality support for the community, all volunteers are expected to follow the structured framework and guidelines below.

• Minimum of 12hrs per week and 4hrs per day

• Attend agreed shifts consistently and provide notice if unable to attend.

• Carry out agreed tasks responsibly, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

• Treat service users, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect and compassion.

• Communicate openly about availability, concerns, or if feeling overwhelmed to prevent burnout and overcommitment.

• Follow agreed scheduling processes to ensure continuity and consistency in service delivery.

• Work collaboratively as part of the team and report any safeguarding concerns immediately.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee accurate listing of all incoming donated items

• Maintain and update the inventory management system or tracking sheets

• Ensure proper categorization, labeling, and stock allocation

• Conduct regular stock checks and reconciliation

• Monitor stock levels and flag shortages or overstock issues

• Supervise and guide inventory/sorting volunteers assigned to listing tasks

• Ensure compliance with operational SOPs

• Prepare basic inventory reports for the Baby Bank Manager

• Support workflow improvements and system automation initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education (college level preferred)

• Previous experience in inventory, stock control, warehouse, or administrative work preferred

• Experience supervising volunteers or small teams is an advantage

• Comfortable using Google Sheets, Excel, or inventory tools

• Available for required weekly hours
