This will include ensuring we continue to operate in an integrated way across our Policy and Strategy, Communications, and Development and Engagement directorates to deliver the greatest impact for members and our organisation.
You will provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s policy, strategy, analysis and public affairs functions, providing high-level advice and support to the chief executive, deputy chief executive, chair and board, as well as playing a key role as part of the NHS Providers director team.

Why Work for The Difference?
Schooling isn’t working for the children who need it most. Every week in England 109 children –
equivalent to three full classrooms – are permanently excluded. This is just the tip of the
iceberg. Since the pandemic, school suspensions have risen significantly, as has persistent
absenteeism. 1 in 5 children are missing more than 10% of their time in school. Children who
are excluded or persistently absent are much more likely to already be experiencing
vulnerability or disadvantage. They are more likely to live in poverty, have additional learning
needs, suffer mental health challenges, or experience a lack of safety outside school. Certain
ethnicities are also disproportionately affected, notably Gypsy Roma Traveller and black
Caribbean children.
Exclusion and high rates of absence can have a dramatic effect on life chances. These young
people are more likely to drop out of education or employment, become vulnerable to
long-term mental ill health, or be at risk of criminal exploitation. The Difference believes that
children and young people deserve better and that the education system has to change.
Our Organisation
The Difference is a young education charity, founded to change the story on lost learning. By
2030, we want rates of exclusion and absence to be falling nationally and for schools to be better
equipped to support all children, including those who may be vulnerable.
The Difference was born out of a year of research into school exclusions with think-tank IPPR.
This research identified a lack of inclusion expertise in schools and proposed a new leadership
development programme to fill this gap. In 2018, Difference founder Kiran hired the team who
took this idea from concept to reality, beginning work with our first schools.
The Difference is now a 22-strong team delivering multiple school leadership programmes,
alongside a growing research and policy arm. The team is supported by our Youth Advisory
Board, made up of young people who have experienced exclusion and who provide their
expertise and insights on how school inclusion work should be done. This work is needed more
than ever. Effects of COVID-19, coupled with the spiralling cost of living, have substantially
increased levels of vulnerability. Schools serving excluded pupils face under-funding. The
Difference has had excellent early impact but there is work ahead to scale this impact through
our programmes, share learning with schools and policy-makers, and grow our capacity to
lower exclusions across England.
The Task Ahead: Programme Lead
In 2019 The Difference launched their programmes working with 22 school leaders in
London. Since then we have worked with 447 school leaders nationally. We want to continue
to scale our programmes and reach more school leaders to help shape their schools practice
and systems to improve pupil wellbeing, safety and belonging. We intend to further develop
our programmes to improve inclusion in schools and successfully changing the story for
students currently struggling in school.
Key tasks for this role include:
● Deliver The Difference’s Inclusive Leadership Course to senior leaders from a
range of school settings. This takes place in venues across the country including
but not limited to the North East, North West, and the Midlands. Confidence
and passion to deliver the course to the high standards required.
● In-school support for The DIfference’s School Partnership (DSP). Delivering
across a variety of schools including mainstream secondary, mainstream
primary and Alternative Provision settings. Supporting the implementation of
key themes and content from The Difference’s Inclusive Leadership Course.
● Working closely with The Differences Research, Impact & Influencing team
members to capture case studies, research and impact metrics that demonstrate
the impact of the Difference’s programmatic work.
● Input to the evolution and development of the Difference’s programmatic offer
using insight from delivery and feedback from programme participants
● Working closely with the The Difference’s Partnership and Sales team to
support the reach and impact of the programmatic work.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE
Girls Not Brides is seeking an experienced digital communications professional to manage the Girls Not Brides website in English, French and Spanish, including website development, maintenance, continuous improvement planning, infrastructure, architecture, and user journey. You will be responsible for implementing a website improvement project and a new members area. This role will also be responsible for developing and producing performance data, evaluation, and reporting across our digital channels. We are looking for someone who has a passion for managing websites, using data to improve performance and engagement, and using digital platforms to drive movements. The successful applicant will support across our digital channels. This role sits in the Communications Team and reports to the Communications Manager. You will work closely with external website developers to deliver a website that showcases Girls Not Brides and our role as the global movement to end child marriage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Girls Not Brides website (70%)
- Lead the development and implementation of the website improvement strategy and project plan, with support from the Communications Manager.
- Recommend and manage changes to the website architecture, front-end design, features, integrations, and user-journey improvements.
- Manage the day-to-day of activity of Girls Not Brides website, including uploading content in 3 languages (English, French and Spanish), optimising content for web, updating static pages when needed, and recommending updates and upgrades to the CMS.
- Responsible for managing website projects, including the upgrade, update and support and maintenance pipeline, as well as larger-scale changes to website functionality and architecture, managing external contractors to produce the work required on time and within budget.
- Research and implementing best-practices for search engine optimisation (SEO) across website copy and architecture.
- Produce and manage a clear, well-documented approach to web analytics, producing regular reports, monitoring user behaviour and website traffic, carrying out benchmarking, identifying KPIs and providing actionable insights.
- Support content writing for the website, including writing website copy and blog posts.

Campaign project management:

Main duties and responsibilities
Partnership Management
- Responsible for coordinating, managing and supporting RCUK’s collaborative activity with community and corporate partner organisations in the UK.
- Act as the central link between partner organisations, and our patient and public voice group.
- Manage relationships with both corporate and community partnerships developing strong new relationships and strengthening existing relationships, liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Take leadership for all operational aspects of our community and corporate partnerships, including the quality of partnership bid documents and correspondence received by the partner, and any day-to-day matters.
- Work closely with the Media and Campaigns and Policy and Public Affairs departments on campaigns and parliamentary engagement opportunities. Jointly working with the Media and Campaigns Manager to align the right partner/s with campaigning activities.
- Writing press releases to announce new partnership relationships and promote partnership events locally.
- Work closely with teams in RCUK to identify and develop growth opportunities for new and existing partnerships.
- Ensure RCUK discharges its responsibilities in relation to involvement/consultation with our patient and public voice group. Implementing and developing community and commercial strategic relationships with organisations, in accordance with Resuscitation Council UK’s overarching, objectives and goals.
Strategy and Planning
- Lead on the implementation of a new partnership strategy for RCUK working closely with the Director of Communications and Engagement and key internal stakeholders, ensuring it remains relevant and develops across the life of our partnership activity.
- Lead on developing bespoke individual plans for each partner relationship.
- Lead on proactively researching and developing a pipeline of new partners whose values and mission align with the RCUK vision, presenting progress in monthly stakeholder meetings.
- Develop compelling partnership propositions and presentations for corporate prospects, ensuring alignment with our values.
- Chair a monthly partnership forward planning meeting with internal stakeholders and key members of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Look for specific income-generating partnerships that will help fund our campaigning activity.
- Continually monitor and evaluate each partnership to ensure objectives are being met in line with both RCUK and the partners' expectations.

Role Requirements
• Act as a trusted, technical specialist for our business systems, by developing a comprehensive and rigorous knowledge-base of the software architecture, whilst overseeing its maintenance and ensuring the department (and by extension, the organisation) benefits from its full capabilities.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement a Supporter Experience strategy, consulting with colleagues from across the charity to set clear long-term and short-term objectives, with KPI based engagement targets.

The Position
The Communications and Marketing team works to build the Fund’s brand presence and visibility with key audiences, delivers campaigns to grow its digital community and pipeline of individual donors, and leads on strategic communications projects to further the organization’s programmatic and developmental objectives. Location: Office based or remote working (or a combination of the two) from anywhere ADD has an office (Cambodia, Bangladesh, Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan or UK). Applicants must have a right to work in the country they wish to be based.

Contract: Full-time, permanent (though we are open to considering applications from those who want to work on a part-time or job-share basis)

Job Purpose
ADD is looking for a Head of Transformative Partnerships and Influencing to lead on nurturing and expanding relationships with institutional funders and partners so that more resources and opportunities can flow to disability justice movements in Africa and Asia.
This is a new role that will lead both our institutional fundraising and influencing work. This role will be responsible for raising significant funds from a range of institutional funders. This role will also lead on the development of a new influencing strategy to inspire funders and organisations in the disability and development sector, to increase funding for disability justice and to fund organisations led by people with disabilities directly.
Finally, this role will also ensure excellent stewardship of our existing strategic investments and partnerships.
Person specification
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about disability justice and disrupting traditional funding approaches. It would be a great opportunity for someone interested in transformation in the International Development sector with a commitment to shifting power and resources to organisations led by people with disabilities. We are looking for someone who can boldly challenge power asymmetries in the funding system and help build mutually beneficial partnerships with a wide range of people. The successful candidate will have strong influencing skills and be able to inspire people to understand the importance of disability justice and participatory grantmaking. You must also demonstrate a passion for ADD’s mission and a demonstrable commitment to the Social and Human Rights Models of Disability.
Specific things we would like you to have are:
- Extensive experience in relationship-based fundraising and building meaningful relationships with funders and partners
- Extensive experience of developing and delivering influencing and/or advocacy strategies
- Excellent influencing skills
- Excellent public speaking and networking skills
- A strong understanding of flexible funding and its benefits
- Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate ideas into strategy
